I was lucky enough to be invited down to Melbourne to experience The New GWM Tank 500.

That was great, Thanks for taking us along. I bet you were stuffed by the time you got home, Big Day Out. You talked me into buying my Cannon X, but the dollars for this thing are too much for me. And I feel uncomfortable getting in to my Ute in work clothes, not sure a luxury limo would be suitable, or as one of your other Car Reviewer Mates calls it "Cheap Landcruiser Rival". Thanks again, I am a bit amazed at how quick GWM is pushing into Australia with these new models, I live in a small little town and thought I would be the only one with a Cannon, but No there are three others in town already, and they all love them

Great review< Tank has recently reached New Zealand. Think the jury is still out on them as usual , KIWIS just love their Ford Ranger. Anyhow, have you guys finished your road trip around Australia and if so what's next. I've had a cannon 4x4 for over a year now and just love it. We are getting a Hilltop Feathertop Caravan in June/July this year, looking at your videos it will tow no problem, thanks for that. Did you add any weight distribution bars to your rig. Any suggestions if anything would be helpful.

Should've waited for the 2.4t/3.0t luxury cannons! They are pickup versions of 500.

And is that the grill that would be coming to Australia or are they pre-production models
This is the Aussie model :) no more changes.
It would tow it no problems! But I can't say that I've tried or tested it like that.
If GWM would allow me I definitely would!!
Was there much room in the boot ? You are used to a Ute like me

have they fixed the dangerous rear wheel lifting off the tarmac under heavy braking in the tank yet?
That was Tank 300, not 500.

The point is that the weight of the back should be slightly above the front, that's the problem solved!

If the top spec Alpha HEV is similar in price than this with the same specs, that will certainly be on my radar when upgrading next.
Did the Alpha have Rear coils or leafs

Was waiting for months and was planning to buy one BUT definitely no way with a hybrid option 😢. If they bring in the V6 3.0L I'll buy one. Otherwise won't even go to look at one.
