Thanks! I am not American though, but a lot of people think because of the accent in my English. Just grew up on American cinema. I am actually from Belgium. I do have some family in England as well and when i am around them my accent starts to change. But it seems the American accent comes more natural and i dont really have to think about it. Thanks for taking the time to comment! I appreciate that! Cheers!

Great Job. Plan B is overlooked nowadays. He had a big mototown/soul phase with Strickland Banks, but his early stuff up to and including the Ill Manors albums is very, very dark.

It's hard to fully analyse this song not knowing the context of the time but you did well. For example the David Cameron thing was how he had a 'hug a hoodie' campaign trying to act as if he sympathised with those in poverty and gangs....while he did nothing to help and in fact just hindered the communities more and more taking resources. 'Broken Britain' was also part of his whole campaign about poverty and violence.
As someone who grew up in poverty in the UK this song, especially at the time, just encapsulated the rage perfectly, we were stereotyped as all being horrible (which obviously yes bad people exist but many good people do too) by the upper classes...who were also all being outted for crimes (mainly to do with tax avoidance and other money things) it became very clear that there was one rule for them one for us and they didn't care about the poor and the goverment nor the issues have really changed yet. This time period though was particularly tense with london riots, lots of money being taken for olympics etc.
Plan B is so underrated for his impact on UK music imo.
watch the film ill manors he made. Dark but you may find it interesting, also some clips from both the film and real London riots in this MV i believe

Thanks for sharing this. Appreciate that. Politicians are so far removed from whats happening on the streets or low income neighbourhoods. They have no clue whats going on most of the time. I come from a similar background only in Belgium. Great song and love that he tackles these topics.

Ill Manors is a double play on words his Manors are ill meaning he behaves badly but at the same time manor means the area you live and his Monor is ill because its an area filled with poverty high crime rates and a big drug problem

Bro i respect you for trying to breakdown this video. You have to understand that this is part of the ill manors film.
Ben drew had written, dirrected and also wrote and performed the entire score for this film.
As with nearly everything that ben drew writes and produces. It is a story. All songs from a album connect and tell the story from track one to the last track.
The defamation of strickland banks is that exactly. We learn about a man that is making it. He has a women, who he loves but the writing is on the wall, with regards to there relationship. She said, he meets another women but she is crazy and accuses him of assault, meanwhile his current partner is in the stands as he tries to claim his innocence .
Stay too long, post the court appearence he decides he has lost his partner, could be going down for something he didnt do, maybe one last night of freedom he goes all out and hits it hard.
Plan B is a amazing singer, rapper, director and producer in my eyes.

Interestingly, Plan B got his name because his first plan was to be a Soul singer. He was told that no-one wanted to listen to a white soul singer from the UK so switched to rapping. Ironically his biggest hits have been the ones he's singing on though!
You should check out his really early stuff to see how he's evolved over time. ruclips.net/video/q8-HZLYNtaY/видео.html

I am amazed at how innocent the working class is in the US! That's ment in w good wwy incase kt didn't vome across as such. I have a feeling the US has hoods who h are a bit nuts then the working class in there is a step vertically than what we consider working class here in the UK. I might be biased towards this video as a weird nostalgia bein raised in Belfast in the 80's and 90's

@@SaeedReacts. I apologise I don't know why I thought US! Enjoyed the content and to be honest I think I'm a little biased towards what my opinion of a rough areas or good is but I think that's more to do with me being raised in Belfast during civil conflict giving me a warped view of what's normal in a dodgy hood

about were you were born , in Britain its not wealth that divides us its the class difference here. you could be richer than all the upper class but if you were born working class they still look down on you .

    • @SaeedReacts.
      @SaeedReacts.  4 месяца назад

Those type of "upperclass" people have no selfawareness. So i consider myself lucky to come from a workingclass family.
