The time that you guys spend talking about a movie after it's over is the best thing happening on any of the reaction channels that I watch. Especially in this case when you're talking about Thelma's relationship with Daryl. It didn't really dawn on me before that because she was with Daryl since she was 14 and he was the only man she's been with she just had no clue how to gauge other men and their intentions. Downright giddy lol! At the end of the day, Louise murdered a man for mouthing off. "You watch your mouth buddy". She made a decision to walk away after rescuing Thelma from an ATTEMPTED sexual assault. She shot him after he mouthed off. You can't justify that because you think he has a bad reputation or what he MIGHT do in the future.
Susan Sarandon is great in "Dead Man Walking", "Stepmom", "The Client", you should watch them all. I remember hearing a rumor years ago that a sequel was in talks, apparently they made it to the other side.
Geena Davis: The Long Kiss Goodnight and A League of their own. Susan Sarandon: Bull Durham, Deadman Walking, The Client, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Witches of Eastwick.
I seriously hope that you're gonna react more to female lead oriented movies. Because many reactors avoid those for some reason. There are many crime movies lead by female characters. Would recommend Fried Green Tomatoes (crime period), Misery (thriller), Double Jeopardy (crime), Kiss The Girls (crime), The Client (crime), Practical Magic (supernatural), The Craft (Supernatural), etc
"American Gangster" is a great Ridley Scott film with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. "Best Picture" worthy, IMO. Speaking of the Oscars, 1991was the last time that two actors were nominated for "lead" performances in the same movie. Davis and Sarandon were both nominated for "Best Actress" but lost to Jodie Foster in "Silence of the Lambs". Since then, a film with two lead performances tends to relegate one of them to the "Supporting" category, like Brad Pitt in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".
1980's "Atlantic City" is an early Susan Sarandon film co-starring Burt Lancaster. A year after this film, Brad Pitt took on a major role in "A River Runs Through It" directed by Robert Redford. A beautiful film.
A few years ago, someone drove off a cliff similar to what happens at the end of the movie... and survived! Which is what the Simpsons did as a joke "Alternate Ending."
One of my faves! The cast, the score, the beautiful scenery, the great story, road trips, motel showers, greasy diners, cigarettes and convertibles, the feeling of freedom... it's got everything. ❤
I have a few favorite Susan Sarandon vehicles. The most recent was 'Step mom' with Julia Roberts.... a very heartwarming story. Seen it a few times. Has some really powerful scenes.
It's a cool thing that brads first 2 small roles were connected....small part in true romance by Tony Scott then a second bigger role in Thelma and Louise by his brother ridley Scott
A great Susan Sarandon film is Cloud Atlas. It has an all star cast but unfortunately it wasn't seen by many in it's time and so it was slightly forgotten but it was directed by the Wachowskis of the Matrix films and is a beautiful poem of a movie that encapsulates all walks of life.
Fun Fact The final scene of the 1991 film Thelma and Louise was shot at Dead Horse Point State Park on State Road 313, 18 miles off Hwy 191 about 30 miles southwest of Moab Utah. The scene depicts the car flying off the cliff above the Grand Canyon, but was actually filmed at Fossil Point, which is visible from the park's West Rim overlook trail. The park's geology and erosion are similar to the Grand Canyon, and it's crossed by the Colorado and Green Rivers respectively.
I love this movie, saw it when it came out and have been a fan ever since. I wasn’t sure how I initially felt about the ending, I was rooting for them to get away, but now I’m sure another ending would have been anticlimactic. Ridley Scott, to his eternal credit, insisted the ending could not be changed.
Great closing commentary by both of you! Next Ridley Scott movie? Definitely SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER Ym ME (1987) Next Susan Sarandon film? DEAD MAN WALKING.
Hey guys, i'm really enjoying your reaction (as usual). This is a movie i'd been wanting to watch for about 30 years. I finally saw it earlier this year and loved it.
It's a long shot, but the movie "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" would be fun for you two, even if it never makes it to channel. Every famous funny person in that era was in it!
❤Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn give career performances in Dead Man Walking....they each won an Oscar. She is amazing in Bull Durham 1988 with Kevin Costner🥰Geena Davis is a gem. She is in a couple of my favorite comedies..... Tootsie 1982 with Dustin Hoffman and Fletch 1985 with Chevy Chase.
YES!! One of my favorite movies from my childhood! I remember seeing this on NBC back in 1994. I remember seeing the parody on The Simpsons, Marge On The Lam, where Marge and her new neighbor Ruth Powers go on a girl's night out that turns into a wild police chase, with goofball Homer and ne'er do well Police Chief Clancy Wiggum in pursuit.
He had played a James Dean type on Growing Pains tv show & a tv movie before this. I was a server in a hole-in-the wall but famous bar in Hollywood a a few months before this came out and waited on him. I recognized him from tv then a couple months later I saw him in Thelma & Louise & was really blown away.
I saw this as a teenager at the cinema when it came out. I completely loved it and it is still one of my favourite films today. Brad and Michael are so gorgeous and Gina and Susan are utterly fantastic.
Yeah, we studied this one in film class in the mid-90s. Some interesting - and heated - discussions were had. May also want to check out Kalifornia (1993) for another Brad Pitt roadtrip...
Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn in: “DEAD MAN WALKING “ great movie!! Your kind of movie!! Susan won an Oscar for this one! Based on a true story, a nun that goes into prisons and comforts prisoners on death row.. Can’t go wrong with Susan and Sean !!!!
There is all kinds of discussion about the subject matter but my favorite aspects of this movie are the score, the look of it, and very quotable lines. I used to also be fascinated with movies about road trips out west.
1988 The Accused stars Jodie Foster who won her first Oscar for this role. The crime is based on a true story that happens at a Bar in Massachusetts called Big Dan's. Not easily watched
My family is from the Houston area, and we settled on a small section of farmland when I was very young. But I didn't find out from my family until I grew up that Bonnie & Clyde used to hideout on our land, and were rumored to have buried money on our farm. But who knows; I was very small when that story floated out, and both my parents have passed.
This movie was ahead of its time. I re-watched numerous times and saw it in a different light. Women have been scapegoated and not taken seriously for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Louise said it right when she said things were snowballing out there.
That's so funny I've seen this 20 or 30 times and always thought it was cars and now I'm sure that it's carpet. He has a nice car because he's regional manager.
'Thelma & Louise' was something of a comeback movie for director Ridley Scott, who was never able to match the success of 'Alien' during the 1980s. After the box office failure of Blade Runner (which later became a classic), Ridley Scott directed the fantasy adventure, 'Legend' (a box office disaster), followed by the neo-noir thrillers 'Someone To Watch Over Me' and 'Black Rain,' which became his biggest hit since Alien. Thelma & Louise' was a successful follow-up to Black Rain, but it would be another decade before Ridley Scott would have another hit movie with 'Gladiator' in 2000.
Ridley Scott's career has been interesting. It's like his reputation with legendary films over the years allows him to keep getting big projects greenlit with the occasional success, whereas similar types of financial "flops" have hindered other directors. He used to be one of my favorite directors to hear in commentary tracks.

One of my ALL time favorite movies. Perfection. Have seen it so many times. I'm so glad you watched it. Thank you!!
Among reactors, Daniel is the quickest to vote for homicide at every impasse. 🔪
😂
Downright giddy lol! At the end of the day, Louise murdered a man for mouthing off. "You watch your mouth buddy". She made a decision to walk away after rescuing Thelma from an ATTEMPTED sexual assault. She shot him after he mouthed off. You can't justify that because you think he has a bad reputation or what he MIGHT do in the future.
Yeah I hope Samantha is in charge of all the decision making 😂 and weapons if they have them 😳.
I just cried at the end of this movie for the 100th time😢
Susan Sarandon is great in "Dead Man Walking", "Stepmom", "The Client", you should watch them all. I remember hearing a rumor years ago that a sequel was in talks, apparently they made it to the other side.
Susan was married to Chris *(Leon from Dog Day Afternoon)* briefly in the 70s, thats how she got her last name
is 12 years brief?
Susan Surranden and Julia Roberts and Ed Harris in:
“Stepmom”!!
Good movie.
Multiple Kleenex boxes needed
@@Swordsfor200Alex I agree.
Hope someone reacts to that one!
14:49 It's called a Pitt stop, lol.
😂
1980's "Atlantic City" is an early Susan Sarandon film co-starring Burt Lancaster.
A year after this film, Brad Pitt took on a major role in "A River Runs Through It" directed by Robert Redford. A beautiful film.
A few years ago, someone drove off a cliff similar to what happens at the end of the movie... and survived! Which is what the Simpsons did as a joke "Alternate Ending."
One of my faves! The cast, the score, the beautiful scenery, the great story,
road trips, motel showers, greasy diners, cigarettes and convertibles, the feeling of freedom... it's got everything. ❤
The kiss at the end😭😭😭😭😭
Fun Fact
The final scene of the 1991 film Thelma and Louise was shot at Dead Horse Point State Park on State Road 313, 18 miles off Hwy 191 about 30 miles southwest of Moab Utah.
Thanks for the info.
Ah…I hated this movie. The choices the women made were just so stupid, I couldn’t stand it.
I know everyone will request Bull Durham for Susan Sarandon, but is has a very large excellent cast.
Susan and Tim became a couple due to that film
Awesome reaction you both
Brad Pitt was awesome
Great closing commentary by both of you!
Next Ridley Scott movie? Definitely SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER Ym ME (1987)
Next Susan Sarandon film? DEAD MAN WALKING.
Hey guys, i'm really enjoying your reaction (as usual). This is a movie i'd been wanting to watch for about 30 years. I finally saw it earlier this year and loved it.
It's a long shot, but the movie "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" would be fun for you two, even if it never makes it to channel. Every famous funny person in that era was in it!
It's hard to believe not everyone in the world knows the ending to this film, it's SO iconic. I mean The Simpsons dropped a version lol
It's been parodied so many times. Mike Myers did his own version in Wayne's World 2.
It's the one movie I can think of that I knew exactly how it ended without knowing anything else about the movie.
My favorite Susan Sarandon movie is "Noel", a great but not very well known Christmas movie. It has an all star cast including Robin Williams.
59:00 Geena Davis one of my very first crushes! "Earth Girls Are Easy". Favorite Ridley Scott film gotta be "Prometheus"
Susan Sarandon won the Oscar for Dead Man Walking, and Sean Penn won his first Oscar for Mystic River. Great comment, though.
She was in The Witches of Eastwick with Jack Nicholson Cher Michelle Pfeiffer Bull Dunham, Little women Stepmom That's my boy.
Just because its my favorite baseball movie, for more Susan Sarandon check out Bull Durham.
OMG!! I was JUST talking about Thelma & Louise with my Bestie today!!
This is one of my very favourite movies. 😍
Never even heard of Brad Pitt until this movie. Geena Davis won her 1st Oscar for "The Accidental Tourist". Great movie!
At that time he was unknown
He had played a James Dean type on Growing Pains tv show & a tv movie before this. I was a server in a hole-in-the wall but famous bar in Hollywood a a few months before this came out and waited on him. I recognized him from tv then a couple months later I saw him in Thelma & Louise & was really blown away.
I saw this as a teenager at the cinema when it came out. I completely loved it and it is still one of my favourite films today. Brad and Michael are so gorgeous and Gina and Susan are utterly fantastic.
Fantastic movie and reaction! Can’t wait for what you react to next!
Yeah, we studied this one in film class in the mid-90s. Some interesting - and heated - discussions were had.
May also want to check out Kalifornia (1993) for another Brad Pitt roadtrip...
Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn in:
“DEAD MAN WALKING “
great movie!! Your kind of movie!! Susan won an Oscar for this one!
Based on a true story, a nun that goes into prisons and comforts prisoners on death row..
Can’t go wrong with Susan and Sean !!!!
The Client (1994). Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones. A very good legal crime mystery/thriller.
There is all kinds of discussion about the subject matter but my favorite aspects of this movie are the score, the look of it, and very quotable lines. I used to also be fascinated with movies about road trips out west.
Yup.
Geena was just great in The Long Kiss Goodnight. A familiar plot but a really hilarious implementation.
TWILIGHT with Paul Newman and Susan Sarandon and bunch of stars in a great detective mystery.
1988 The Accused stars Jodie Foster who won her first Oscar for this role. The crime is based on a true story that happens at a Bar in Massachusetts called Big Dan's. Not easily watched
It was dark but not for her
She also did Dead Man Walking with Sean Penn, which is definitely underrated. Bull Durham is also good.
This was the movie that made Brad Pitt a star.
The Hunger, by Tony Scott (Ridley's late brother) for Susan Sarandon (with David Bowie and a SPECTACULARLY beautiful Catherine Deneuve)
Thanks for the info.
Deadman Walking with Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn. Incredible movie.
"Dead Man Walking" is a great film with Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn. Dark and thought provoking. I believe Sarandon won the Oscar for best actress.
The Hunger- Susan Sarandon, David Bowie & Catherine Deneuve. Awesome.
Your reactions are so much fun, I really enjoy them. You must react to these Susan Sarandon movies: Dead Man Walking (she won the Oscar), Bull Durham, The Client , Witches of Eastwick & White Palace (in that order), they're all great.
