Great review, your are so right about having the right firmness for the right job. I'm a big novablasts fan having covered 1000s of miles in 1 2s & 3s . The Adidas SL was way too hard for anything for me , so i removed some of the heel rubber to make them softer landing ( did the same to my adistars ) . Adidas pro 3 seem to be my perfect all round shoe , speed and distance is easily handled. Prime X good but a little tiring on hips after a couple of hours , so still well useable 👍👍

Great review. I think the difference in youtuber opinions on the N4 may have to do with weight. Most of the shoetubers are under 160lbs and prefer the N3 and the "heavier" runners prefer the Novablast 4. I've run in N1 through N3 and the N3 was my least favorite - I found the shoe did not have the impact protection or bounce of the previous versions. The Saucony Triumph 20 replaced the Novablast 3 for me. Based on your review, I'll give the N4 a try.

I think people used the shoe to much as an all arounder and was part of their workouts, to me the N4 has become a more true daily and it is way more comfortable all around even though its missing some pop to it.

When I did an initial try on and side by side comparison (neglected to put it in the video) I noticed how similar they were to each other, however, the update to version 4 is slightly more cushioned than the SL, but still stiffer and springier than the novablast v3. I just got these shoes with the hope that they'll take me through the last month of training before my first full marathon on May 26. I've never owned multiple pairs of running shoes for different efforts/events, so I'm curious: Do you think I'll be ok to use these as my race day shoe to get through a marathon in my goal of 8:51-9:00 pace for a sub-4 finish? For reference, I did a half marathon during this training block at 1:46, and I am not someone who has a history as a runner. Thanks!

This has a more reactive and poppier foam underfoot. Better for daily miles. The 1080s, while they used to be better as a daily trainer, as of the last 3 versions are more of a max cushioned recovery shoes for 1-2 sessions a week.
Then you have hardcore version 1 is GOAT fans like me so that comparison with any other version fails to inspire or matter. Thanks for the video though!

How noisy is the shoe while running and is it bouncier than novablast 3 or less?
No, they’re not noisy. I think they’re more bouncy than version 3.
How does this shoe compare to NB 1080? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
