Exactly what I needed without a bunch extra junk. THANK YOU
I really appreciate this. I am just over a minute I finally figured out what I’ve been needing to know about those stupid blinds all these years. Fixed them all!
This video was straight to the point and very helpful. I didn't even remove my blinds to make the repair and it still worked. Thanks!

Very clear demonstration. Thank you so much!
Now that was easy to understand, and completely helpful
I'm thrilled to see this! Thank you!!!
Thank you this helped me today fix my Vertical Blinds you made a very good presentation on how to Fix.
Thanks so much ~ it worked well and my blinds are new again. Easy, easy, easy.
thanks for the help. Had to replace 2 gears and 2 clips while in place overhead, so it was upside down and the opening facing away from my position. That made it more difficult but still doable based on your video.
Perfect instruction video! Thanks, it was driving me crazy with one out of sync with the rest!
So I'm not the only one....
Thanks so much It worked perfectly!
Thank you! I was told I’d have to completely replace my blinds because some stems broke. Take that, $300 quote.

Will this fix a vein that spins in a complete circle they're only supposed to move a little bit at a time
👍
If the clips are stretched out can the eclipse just be pulled out and changed or do we have to take the gear out too? For i bought new slats from Perfecto Blinds!
Hi there! If you'd like to share some pictures with us of the clips on your vertical blinds, we can provide specific advice. Please email us at service@fixmyblinds.com.
My new rail has 3 more slat holders than my old one. Can I remove these extra holders? If so, how do I do this? Thx
We don't have any instructions for removing carriers; I'm sorry. I don't know where to find instructions for removing those.
Please help.. I can't get the stem out. It doesn't appear to be C shaped when I look at it up close. My blind is at least 15 years old, do you think you could be different? Thank you
Hello, thanks for your question. Some stems are not removable. If your stem doesn't snap into a c-shaped opening, it probably does not come out. If you'd like to email us a picture, I can let you know if it is removable or not. Our email is service@fixmyblinds.com. Thank you!
@@fixmyblinds I have the same problem, and really don't want to replace the whole system because of a couple of broken clips. But they don't seem to come out.
@@TheGreatLordDufus If the clips don't come out, the best solution is to replace the headrail. Try www.reslat.com to purchase a new headrail.
@@TheGreatLordDufus😅
Gee! wished my head rail worked like that.
Stanley, there are many different types of vertical blinds. Are your stems not removable?
@@fixmyblinds I've been working from a ladder in 90+ weather. yes; stems are removable. tried swapping out a few, with the comb...dance like i did in 8th grade. Took head rail down. a few wheels are gone. master wand is cracked.won't rotate very well under pressure, I have 11/4" stems with stops. uses 33 blinds. do you sell...master wand replacement parts and wheel kits? I don't own an I pod so i can't send pics!!...Thanks for the reply.
I just popped the lid off the master wand, placed the undamaged gear on the un cracked side. seems to work OK now is that OK? still out of cars with wheels.
Stanley, when the carriers are damaged, it's time to purchase a new headrail or a new blind. For headrails, we recommend www.reslat.com.
We do not sell carriers or replacement wheels.
We may have the master wand carrier. Here's a link to the ones that we sell: fixmyblinds.com/collections/vertical-blind-tilt-mechanisms
Where do you get the gear to replace the gear??
juntjoo nunya you can purchase gears by clicking the following link. www.fixmyblinds.com/Vertical-Blind-Carrier-Gear-p/vb-gear.htm
i need to replace one of the holders, the little circular plastic part broke off.
That piece is called a carrier. Unfortunately, we do not sell those. I don't know where you could purchase those carriers.
Only problem, what happens if the blind is next to the wand and cannot be removed/replaced easily.
Hi Ken, When the broken stem is right next to the wand, it can be tricky to replace since there isn't a lot of space to get in there to work. But, it can still be replaced with some patience.
FixMyBlinds it takes a ton of patience...thanks
How can I tell if they are replaceable or not?
There are a few different types of clips that are replaceable. If you'd like us to let you know if the clips you have are replaceable, please take a few pictures of your rail and email us at service@fixmyblinds.com.
I am unable to remove the partially damaged stem. Need help. Thanks
Hi there, do your stems look exactly like the ones in our video? If not, please email us some pictures to service@fixmyblinds.com and we can let you know if the stems you have are removable.
Handy man available for blind repair
What kind of carrier is that. Where can I order it from.?
Hi Maria, We don't sell this carrier. I'm not sure where you could find it for purchase. It's a pretty common carrier that is often used on blinds made by Bali, Graber and Springs Window Fashions. I'd do some googling with those names and see if you can find anything. Please let me know if I can answer any additional questions.
Funny how this shows how to remove "easy stems". What about the stems on your "restring vertical blinds" video? Those clearly are not C shapes that you can pop out. I have vertical blind stems that have no C shape. They seem simply 'stuck' in the carriers. How do I remove those? I tried using pliers to swivel them out - they just broke. Hmm. No videos on RUclips show how to replace stems that aren't in a C shape apparatus.
Mark - Some stems cannot be removed from the carriers. For those, you have to actually replace the whole carrier.
I have the same issue Mark. I don't even know why ppl still make these types of blinds. What a waste of plastic and metal, have to throw away the whole thing just cuz of few broken stems. I'm just gonna get from IKEA and replace the whole damn thing
@@fixmyblinds Would that include 2001 vintage vertical “3 Day Blinds” (brand) stems/clips?
I just commented on another RUclips video showing a couple successfully removing a clip from what looks like a three day blinds rail. Though they first removed all the slats and the rail from its window mounting. And it took two people to do it. I tried it and I could not get anywhere. Though I did not remove the slats and the rail first as it is ridiculous to have to do that.
@@nonelost1 The stems in your blind are most likely not removable. If you'd like to email me a few pictures of the stems, I can let you know for sure. Our email is service@fixmyblinds.com.
Older vertical blinds dont seem to have this option.
Some vertical blinds have removable/replaceable stems and some do not. If the stems aren't replaceable, you'd have to replace the carrier piece or consider replacing the entire headrail.
@@fixmyblinds Thank you for your response, really wishing there was an easier way. Just read about drilling a 3/8th inch hole on top of the rail and possibly pushing it out through the other side. Not sure of this will work or not. Will give it a shot though.
Some vertical blinds do work that way where you can push the stem out from the top of the rail. If yours works that way, there will already be a hole in the rail for this purpose.
On some verticals, the stem is integrated with the carrier and will not come out. In that case, the entire carrier will need to be replaced.
Why did you take the vane off with out recording it to the video? :'-(
Hi Jasmine, We have a video that shows how to remove the vanes here: ruclips.net/video/2FsauNXkRdw/видео.html
Do you have to replace the gear?
You only need to replace the gear if it is broken or missing.
@@fixmyblinds I can't get it off (without taking the entire bracket down)
Absolutely accurate. IF YOU HAVE THE POP OUT TYPE OF HOLDER. Some of us do not, so this video is of NO USE.
How to fix vertical blinds stems
Hi James, Do the stems on your vertical blind look like the ones in this video?
Don't work on Bali blinds
Hi there, There are a lot of different types of vertical blind stems. If you'd like to email us a few pictures of the stems on your blinds, we can let you know if we have the replacement parts you need. Our email is service@fixmyblinds.com.
I broke off the thing that holds the stem and it’s seems like no one has my problem what should I do ?
If you are unable to find a replacement carrier, we recommend replacing your vertical blind headrail which you can find here: www.reslat.com/collections/headrails
This does not work for blinds 20 or so years old
are all stems the same size? I broke one and need to replace it
No, they aren't all the same size. Does your vertical blind look like the one in the video?
Yes, the vertical blind looks similar to the one on the video.
If it operates the same and looks similar, then the stem should work. Here's a link to the stem on our website: www.fixmyblinds.com/Vertical-Blind-Carrier-Stem-p/vb-stem.htm
thank you!
