Divorce wasn't enough, they needed the life insurance policies of the spouses, killing them was the only way to do that. Tylee had an inheritance from her father as well as social security benefits. Poor JJ, despite having social security disability, his autism just required too much attention. Attention which took Lori and Chad away from their cult activities. It wasn't as much them being together as it was them pushing their cult.

Melanie deserves an award. She did not waiver on her gut feeling that chad and Lori are downright evil. Remember, this was before the world (or Melanie) knew Tylie and JJ were not “somewhere safe”. It’s impressive how Melanie stands strong without even knowing the horrific truth and all it’s details.
Dont forget that this Melanie was THERE when JJ died.. This could be pay back from Lori for that call Melanie should lie to police.

@@deenax8965 Yes, she went to visit bf on a weekend when she decided to kill his son('drug baby' or ticket to 1M dollars wich Kay got it on the end so she was left 'just' with benefits for children). I cant imagine that she was there... and didnt know a thing. She is not that stupit as she try to come a cross, with 'I didnt know much of those things THEY(not we) talk abt, It was unusuall'...her favourite word. But how if she was the one who known Chad first and she was there when Chad and Lori met? Etc.

To hear her say "Safe and happy" makes me sick. I can't imagine, as a mother, ever doing something like that. Manipulated or not a true "Mom" would never harm her child. Maternal instinct is stronger than anything else. If she hurt those babies its because she truly wanted to as well.
Melanie is so lucky to be alive after hearing this call.
I’ve spent years and years in jail and prison. It’d be so interesting to hear from the girls she’s in jail with. You spend EVERY WAKING MOMENT with the people you’re incarcerated with. Its close to impossible to keep up a constant charade. They’d really have fascinating insight on her. I’m sure it’ll come. They probably can’t allow it right now but after they’re sitting their evil selfs in prison we will hear from them.
Me too. I've been in prison too and agree that her real personality will come out in there! I'd love to hear from them too.
