- During the "doomsday cult" mom’s triple murder trial, a pathologist testified that Tylee Ryan’s death was classified as a homicide by “unspecific means” - meaning he couldn’t pinpoint exactly what caused her death. Dr. Garth Warren said Tylee’s autopsy was unusual because her body came into his office in multiple different bags. The pathologist confirmed her heart was severely decomposed, charred and shrunken. Lori Vallow Daybell, Tylee’s mother, is accused of killing her and her 7-year-old brother, J.J. Vallow. She’s also suspected of killing her fifth husband’s late wife.

This was the day during trial that Lori asked to leave the courtroom, and the judge refused. I’m glad she was forced to stay and listen to what was left of her daughter.
My mother was evil like lori. I think if she could of been around me she would of tried to kill me. I’m thankful for my grandparents

It was the same in the Darryl Brooks trail…the pathologist there was obviously distressed.
My daughter has worked with pathologists who also do Forensic pathology work for the CPS (U.K. prosecution for the police) in our area and if one is distressed then you know…it’s bad. Very, very bad.

I trained as a pathologist and when it came to a baby I was sick and I couldn’t do it .
To be a pathologist you hv to be able to be completely detached. I watched a pathologist giving an example of this. He had been peeling the skin back from the head of an eight year old child to reveal the muscle underneath. He stopped the procedure leaving the skin pulled back in order to go for lunch. His fellow pathologist whilst eating lunch said, The colour of that tissue, meaning the child's facial tissue, is exactly the the same colour as the paint I just bought for my living room. I think that indicates just how detached they are, it would be an impossible job otherwise.
Those wedding photos never cease to infuriate and sadden me.
This really is one of the most gruesome ways to ever kill a person, let alone your own children! Makes me physically ill! The ladies in that prison better be doing their job and tormenting this evil monster!

While I agree that is absolutely atrocious and I hope those two monsters pay, I thought that most of the horrors were done after they died. There is some text message evidence that she was shot (as everyone else around these monsters were).
I don't even have words. Given how close Tylee was to her brother I completely believe Chad and Lori knew they had to get rid of her first because Tylee would never let anything happen to JJ.
It also makes me wonder if JJ "acting up" leading to his death was made worse by tylee not being there. His support person was gone, I'm sure it created a lot of behaviors

JJ was not given his medication properly, was left with a new babysitter, and Lori allowed *EDIT: Chad* to manhandle JJ which left a scratch on Chad's neck that weekend that Melanie Gibb and her boyfriend stayed...the night JJ was murdered.
They should put the Mother in the lap of her beloved Chad and turn on Old Sparky. Get rid of both of them.

@@boycee1 My understanding is that the defense argued that they received thousands of hours of material in discovery from the prosecution just before the trial began, without time to analyze everything. To make it less likely that there’s a mistrial or appeal, it was agreed to take the death penalty off the table.
I think the church put that pressure on.

I have a daughter Tylees age and they look similar even, this is horrendous and gruesome to think what this beautiful young woman experienced with her mother and her goons. Seeing her in the police station using her t-shirt to wipe her eyes, the poor little girl was terrified but still tried to protect her mother. Lori damaged that little girl a long time ago and continued to subject her to violence. Then threw her away like trash but she tries to make it all about Lori {you don't know what I've been through}. Lori Daybell wanted to walk out. She didn't want to hear what the medical examiner had to say or see the graphic pictures of her kids. The judge told her she had to watch everything. My prayers go out to her family. She was never a mother. Her children can't be hurt by her anymore. Jesus has them.

Tylee had good reason to experience anxiety and panic attack; living with her murderers. Tylee no doubt died knowing her family was responsible for her murder. Tylee never realized her value or potential.

My heart has been broken since the day Nate Eaton flew to Hawaii to confront her and Chad about where the kids were. That young lady probably died fighting for JJ. God bless every person who works this case to bring them justice.

JJ likely didn’t, we now know. That little boy was trying to get the bag off his head, while bound. Tylee.. It haunts me to think about, especially knowing she knew Lori already thought she was a zombie. I feel so dreadful thinking about how these kids died and how horrific it genuinely must’ve been.

I think we can cautiously assume she was shot based on chads texts. Whatever happened I hope it was quick and Tylee didn't know what was happening. It seems like JJ might have had a more drawn out death, but I'm hoping the GHB in his system was enough he wasn't aware of what was going on. Sounds horrible but I just hope the kids weren't so scared leading up to their deaths.

The respect I have for this man is difficult to put into words.

@@apriltortorici9810 - My mother was a narcissist ( my psychologist feels she was more)..I really can not tell you any warm and fuzzy stories-- not hitting but no warmth…she gave me to her mother to raise when I was 3 (whom I loved but even she did not contradict my mother)-finally at 16 asked to live with parents ( my dad closed his eyes to my mother)-I always knew that she had never really wanted me - When it came time for me to have children - I was so scared to have a girl because I never wanted to treat her like I had been- I timed everything to have a son - and I did…but I found I was nothing like her-I could not believe how much love I felt and wanted him with me- she was 20 mins from the hospital and we were in there 3 days (complications) and she never came…there are so many stories I could tell and you would wonder how could she do that to her only child- but I was a female- it was sick

I can't believe there is NO death penalty on the table! This is horrible - especially for Tylee - it is like she was hated. Kylee's body was mutilated by someone who knew what they were doing in destroying a body - so no one could determine how she died.

Lori was a fan of Daybell's books, she went after him and seduced him. She convinced him she had "too many kids", her own email address. She manipulated her brother to kill for her with Daybell's assistance. Chad was an obese, bored, emotionally stagnant, unsuccessful man who lost any hint of morality over lust. He deserves the death penalty and so does Lori. In fact there's much suspicion that three additional deaths in Lori's family may well have been orchestrated by her and carried out by the brother she was sexually involved with well before she met chad.
Do we actually know that Lori & Alex were intimate, or is this just a rumor?

Everyone who has had to deal with the repercussions of these evil people’s deeds has been so deeply affected. The deep intake of breath when the medical examiner was asked how Tylee’s autopsy commenced, how it was different from most, says so much. There are no words. I’m so sorry for all the innocent people who have had to view things that should never be.
As I listen, I feel like every word is a stab in my heart.
How could someone do such a thing to an innocent child? Even if someone died in self-defense, by me, that would also shake me terribly.
And I can hear the ME's voice having to force out and share the facts he saw. He was the first to know what exactly happened. I know it is his job but I assume this case may be unforgettable to him knowing the victims are kids. I still can't get past how JJ was found, bound and gagged with plastic bags around his head and then this but I just couldn't stop myself from finishing this clip despite being sick to the core from beginning to end.

Every time I hear her voice on one of those phone calls - while her relatives are upset and panicking about the kids - she remains calm, condescending and is a master gas lighter. Everyone is asking what happened - and she tells them - she can't say, and its too secretive, its too dangerous to talk about. She is diabolical. I cry for JJ and Tylee - sweet, joyful, innocent, loving kids. SMH.
As if having your children killed isn't the worst thing a mother can do, Lori doesn't even have the decency of admiting how and why Tyle was murdered.

This…. I hate this, because it means Tylee wasn’t drugged. Which means she was likely very aware when she was murdered. She had to seen or felt or known something if she wasn’t drugged. She’d spent time trying to convince her mother she wasn’t a zombie, I cannot fathom how terrified she must’ve been when they came to murder her. I wonder if she witnessed Alex murder Charles, maybe was even involved by force, maybe that’s even why she had to die because she came out of her room or knew something, and then knowing what they did to zombies…. She must’ve been terrified. I’ve always wondered how the bat was really involved the day Charles died. Did Tylee come out of her room and threaten ALEX with the bat? Maybe she wasn’t really afraid of Charles at all, but actually trying to help him…
There's an interview of her after Charles was killed. I don't think she was phased. I'm pretty sure her mom convinced her Charles was a zombie. She was too young and didn't know better. She didn't realise her mom was insane and everything they were saying were simply delusions. She probably started realizing it when her mom accussed HER of being a zombie and I think it was probably too late to leave by then. Or maybe she didn't want to admit it to herself immediately. Lori's family is also to blame because instead of accepting that Lori was going crazy, they encouraged her narcissistic delusions and hence indirectly helped her kill all these people. There are more people in this story who are in my view responsible.
She didn't show any kind of emotion before during or after her police interrogation after Charles' murder. She just acted like she was bored and then she lied smoothly about the murder.
Charles was the only one that tried to save them and all she had to do was tell the truth during the interrogation and they would all still be alive today. JJ , Charles and Tammy are the "innocent" victims. Tylee knew Charles was going to be set up and she went along with it, then lied.

She had a chance to save herself and her brother but I don't think she believed they were going to become victims too.She was completely ok with the other murders along as it wasn't her and JJ. The only reason this wasnt given death penalty is because lori didnt wave her right to a speedy trial. They ran out of time, and the judge agreed on it.
When Tylee woke up that last day, she had no idea it would be her last. She was probably still trusting her mother and uncle and probably had no idea what Daybell was capable of. A bright day that turned into horror. I doubt little JJ was allowed to see Tylee's day of horror having no idea his own would come shortly. They both were so innocent. Those precious babies are so missed by those who knew and loved them. May we never forget their beautiful lives and how they were loved.

I think the only reason can be they weren't confident of a guilty conviction if the death penalty was on the table. Imagine if you had some squeamish jurors to sentence someone to death and she gets back a not guilty.
The way I understood it was the prosecution didn't turn in something they were suppose to in time and the judge penalized them buy taking off the death penalty I read that somewhere

This is likely one of the reasons Lori and Alex chose a different, simpler, cleaner approach to murdering JJ and disposing of his body. Because the method they used for Tylee was too messy, too time-consuming, too risky. This demonstrates planning and refinement thereof. Lori was very likely directly involved in the murders, as her presence would have deceptively made the children feel a false sense of safety, thereby making it easier to lead them to their deaths.
