You're right about it being a privilege to drive, I've been privileged to drive thousands of miles in many a 288, love these cars. I prefer it to an F40 because as you mention it's so easy to get in and out, also a little more forgiving in the suspension and ride. Can't believe somebody ordered a white 288 ! Worst color for a Ferrari IMO, if Enzo saw that car he probably would just shake his head...
Wow thousands of miles, what an absolute privilege... I have a replica, it may be the closest I will ever get. No one could order it in white - they were all Rosso Corsa FER300/9 other than a yellow Prototype I believe. Everything else is after market, like the Brunei Pininfarina coverted right hand drive cars in Blue, Black and Grey I think. This is the ex-Chris Evans 288 GTO I believe. He had a fleet of his Ferrari collection painted white. It's still that colour apparently, a photographer friend saw it recently on a shoot
