The person on the phone pocket the remainder of the money. That’s how the brokers get incentives on the job. Their companies give them trips and everything for great performance. Negotiate! Negotiate! Negotiate!
I’m an owner op of a semi truck transporting hazmat and I agree with every thing homie is speaking. Speak up and learn to negotiate better. For yourself and for us all. Stop accepting cheap rates. No one wins except the brokers
whats the process on getting your rental agents info Enterprise called me today and said they couldnt honor my reservation and I was scheduled to get the truck tomorrow
Another thing that really helps is being informed prior to calling the broker. Check the DAT tread lines to check the average rate for the zone your driver is picking up at and also check the DAT market conditions, you can select the state that your driver is doing the pick up and you can see how many loads there are vs how many available drivers there are and if there’s a significant amount of loads compared to how many drivers are available to take them then you have leverage because they are having more trouble finding drivers. I also like to filter loads that are old because the sitting time can be used as leverage to get the higher rates since they are more desperate to get the loads taken.
What’s good ? Keep dropping the sauce. The dispatcher that I was using tried to screw me over on some grimy ish last week. That was all the motivation I needed to drop his a$$. The two loads that I’ve done this week I’m booked and negotiated them myself. I’m going to continue to do so. I can’t ever let somebody have control of my money 💰 like that.
Love your channel. My husband and I are getting started next week out of Phoenix also. Experienced in the mid-west but not the mountains looking forward to it though. We have CDL but starting back up in the box truck. God Bless guys keep up the good work. Hope to see y’all out on the road🙏🏽😁🙏🏽
Question though - if you only want to do loads let say no more than 8 hrs round trip so 4 hours to and 4 hour back what's a good rate to accept? Do the shorter distances pay less per mile?
good question. its actually higher. whenever we duo a route that's maybe only a couple hundred miles or less we always try to set a minimum like $5-$600
Anyone who takes less than $2.00 a mile is a sucker. Anyone doing that messing the game up for everyone. My truck will sit before that happen. Tell your Dispatcher do not call you unless they can get you $2.00 or more per mile.

hey derrick, a lot of our RUclips family has felt scammed in their previous dealings. we pride ourselves on the good businesss we conduct and provide on and off RUclips and we stand on that. perception can be everything. we've had ZERO that's right ZERO complaints. if you change your mind and want to reach out , we suggest that.
