  • Did you know that you can focus your sound or place it in the proper spot in order to sing more freely and create an optimal sound? This spot is often referred to as the resonance or the "mask of singing" located in the front of the face like a masquerade mask. In this video, we will identify the hard and soft surfaces of the face and learn how to manipulated the sound in order to bring it to the front of the face for optimal singing and tone control. This video also includes exercises and warm-up so that you can practice on your own.

    The house tip helped putting all the vowels in the same spot, i have a very heavy natural voice and i have a tendency to swallow my words, narrowing the vowels between the eyes, like youre pushing away something with your mind really helped, the voice cuts so much more powerfully i was even above my noisy rock band mates these last rehersals :D, it totally makes it easy to belt and overall focus the tone, like you have a place to aim to

    I've been learning to sing for about a year and getting much better, but I've been really confused about the terms placement and mask. This is the best video I found on the subject - you're such a clear and articulate teacher! This is super helpful, I especially like the colors exercise as a way to put it all into context involving a mix of different vowels with consonants as we'll encounter in real music. Thank you for this, now off to practice! 😅

    • @OneMusicSchool
      @OneMusicSchool  4 года назад +6

      I think it's more natural to feel them in the lower register and have a slightly lighter buzz in the upper registers because it's not in the chest voice. Try to place the notes in your upper range where you place your lower notes. It will feel slightly different because it's a different register, but hopefully you'll feel them in your resonance.

    • @moirbasso7051

      Not listen to charlatans like this on YT! Masque (not 'mask') resonance is a SYMPATHETIC vibration, caused by the entire vocal tract, not 'putting' your sound 'into the [sic] 'mask.' You cannot 'put' the sound ANYWHERE- it's vibrating air! Find a NATS-approved teacher, and not these YT phonies.

  • @Chandra_Moon13
    @Chandra_Moon13 4 года назад +1

    Is this the same as creating a head voice since it's all resonating from the head? What happens to the middle voice and chest voice?

    • @MineCraft-nz9pg
      @MineCraft-nz9pg 2 года назад

      Actually there is no place for the voice to actually resonate and project but the head, and the whole head voice , chest voice, concept is just a bs, cuz when you sing in said chest voice ,you feel more buzz in chest area, and that doesn't mean the resonance in the sound comes from the chest it comes from your vocal tract, the laryngopharynx oropharynx and nasopharynx. And when you sing in said headvoice the buzz in your chest disappeared cuz the working of the vocal cords change and the overtones shifted, and the formants that cause the chest to vibrate doesn't work anymore (not to mention it doesn't really come out as a sound) so it all happened in the vocal tract. And Don't be too dependent on RUclips , diaphragmatic support, resonance etc etc bs ok.

    When doing the vowels are you supossed to have nasal resonance or do you have a lifted soft palate

    • @OneMusicSchool
      @OneMusicSchool  3 года назад

      I’d say both. You need space to form vowel sound and you need the tone placed in your resonance to project without straining. The placement will affect the tone. I hope that makes sense.
