Hey Afia, i just wanted to say thanks for all the effort behind your content. A few months ago, I was really struggling with my gut health. I was always constipated and bloated. It even started showing up on my skin. But finding your channel, I learnt so much about the benefits of African food. I always left African food for my parents, but when I started eating African food, my gut health has greatly improved, my skin has cleared, and I'm feeling healthier than ever. Thanks so much
In the US South, particularly in the Southeast Georgia and North/South Carolina area, these peas are called sea island red peas. You can order them from organic farmers and purveyors from the area. When I order them, I clean and soak the beans overnight. I cook the entire bag and freeze into smaller portions for easier, quick meals.
you're back!!! YAY! we missed you and food looks so yummy! is there a website you recommend for getting all of the west african ingredients for your recipes (for those of us not in west africa)? for example, id love to use atieja in my recipe, but i'm not sure where to get it
This looks so delicious! I don't think I will be able to get any of the spices here in Germany, but I can adapt the principle, and I think, now I know what to make for New Year's :D
@@omikrondraconis5708 Germany has one of the largest Ghanaian diaspora. Many left in the 80s for Germany and have stayed since. It might surprise you to find some African stores near you 😊
@@eatwithafia oh, I wasn't aware of that! Fascinating, thank you :) I live in a rather small town and the best approximation to an African store I am aware of is a hairdresser. But possibly in the next town over. I will make sure to check out your blog so that I know how those things are spelled correctly. Thanks for broadening my horizon :)
looks beautiful & delicious Afia!!! 😍

All the info you need is on the blog post linked in the bio. Atiedja is very hard to find so I usually just recommend bay leaves 😊
Yay your back ❤

Yeah most of Ghanaian cuisines vegetarian 🥑 or vegan based.
Traditionally yes, but now; that is harder and harder to see 🥲
