Thank you so much for this video! I can't do bagless, even after watching this video, it reconfirm why I perfer a dust bag over a bagless dust cup or a Shark. Thank you again!
This guy would get destroyed, which is why it will never happen. Not just that, but the guy from Vacuum Wars doesn't really make that kind of content. This guy wouldn't be able to get away with the lies he tells his viewers, because Vacuum Wars actually does real tests.
I have tried a Shark vacuum as an extra vacuum for the basement (I also have a Miele and a Dyson). First one died within 6 months. Shark did replace it, but it died 3 months later. Ended up moving the Dyson to the basement and getting a used Kirby.
While i admit sharks are not worth it ive had the origional shark rotator from maybe 2014 and use it to clean ash from the fireplace. It still works and has the same suction and motor sounds the same aswell.
I was thinking of getting a Shark ADV duo with the pet pro attachment for 300 bucks. Now after watching some vids and talking it over with my s/o, she is also recommending we just go to a vaccuum store to talk to them and get some recommendations. Thanks for making these videos.
You were one of the reasons I bought a Miele Brilliant. No regrets. But... I don't like Shark products either, but you made that look as bad as possible. No wonder the rollers were stiffly rolling. Could it have any more hair or thread wrapped around it? I try to sway people who don't want to spend a lot of money on a vacuum toward Hoover or similar because at least they are "slightly" serviceable. Thanks for the review!
You just crushed me with this video. I’ve been looking for a upgrade and after watching vacuum wars videos I was sold on the shark vertex. Now I’m not sure
As I am getting older and more experienced, I am actually a little disappointed with my Shark Navigator LA300, I am only just going to run it to the ground and if it fails, I would just curb it.
I have a few Royal canisters, and metal upright vacuums, a Deebot 960 robot with the lidar and camera, and a Shark duo clean battery powered vacuum with the removable batteries. I mostly just let the robot do its thing every day and do touch-up with the Shark. Occasionally I'll drag out one of the Royals to do a deep cleaning. I like the Shark but it doesn't keep up with the seeds and stuff my parrots drop and eventually gets plugged up in the power head with all the seeds and crumbs. The regular powered vacuums have enough suction to keep pulling all that through till the bag or canister is full. I usually have to take the hose from one of the others and clear out the power head hose section whenever I try to clean around the cage. The hair gets caught up in the brush and roller and everything has to be cleaned every so often or it looses suction. I still like it because of the extra batteries and how portable it is. With normal carpet and floors it does ok but lots of stuff like the bird drops just overwhelms it and plugs it up. Been thinking about finding a similar battery powered vacuum with removable batteries that won't plug up every time it hits a large pile of seeds like the Duoclean does that doesn't cost 6 or 800 bucks.
I'm so pleased to see people giving Shark the bad reputation that is deserved. Thanks to your channel and some help from Reddit, I'm gradually moving away from bagless vacuums. My house has a very old central vac (2004) and I want to upgrade the whole system over time.
I still have mine but it’s still the rocket one. I upgraded to a Dyson V11 Outsize+. The Shark Rocket Duo Clean leaked out dust from the dust cup and when I stored it dust would cover the brush roll window.
I’m glad they replaced the shark with something way better. I would definitely chose that Bissell plus over a shark, having a bag is just more cleaner. I will say Bissell had something advanced in the 90s with a lift off design they even had a model with a hepa exhaust filter.
Bagless machines rot! You’re vacuuming your house, you go from one room to another and you’re in the middle of a good suck when the dust chamber fills up.
I literally just had someone on Facebook on sharks one post if there vaccuum is any good and I replied and basically there trash and so is there warranty and I recommend a Sebo or Miele. I’m happy to say that person took my suggestion!
So I know that you can’t replace the hose in the nozzle. But could you show me how to take apart the nozzle to where o can fully access the hose to tape it closed
It also seems like the person was just straight up negligent with the unit. I've had Sharks and while I agree their built in obsolescence is annoying I've had mine last multiple years and apparently that is the price you have to pay for convenience since all of the brands he recommends are bagged or cannisters and I hate both of those features
This is what happens when people don't maintain their vacuums... Reguardless if it's Bagless or bagged. I've seen bagged vacuums in worse condition because people are stupid and don't care for their machines properly. If you maintain it as you should, those vacuums will last forever.
its a terrible design . a good vacuum like a hoover wind tunnel supreme has so much air flow it gives the hair less chance to get tangled but over time still can,
got one of these at a goodwill to play around with when they were just phasing them out . so much weaker than the earlier shark models and the hoses cracked not long after buying . i learned my lesson . at least it was only $12.99
I don't believe bagged are good. I think they clog too fast and lose suction, plus they don't clean the air. Also not a fan of bagless. What do you think of the water filtration vacuums, like Sirena or Quantum X? I really feel water filtration is the only way to guarantee no loss of suction or airflow so they pick up so much more dirt and dust, hair etc....and they clean the air as you vacuum. I'll have to search your videos but curious if you agree with my thoughts on water filtration vacuums?
I would encourage you to experience a modern bagged vacuum then. "Loss of suction" was made up by a marketing department. Bagged vacuums maintain their power of more consistently then dry cyclonic vacuums. They also filter significantly better. Water vacuums are an interesting gimmick but water is a poor filtration medium that's why they require an exhaust HEPA filter.
@@Damitsall yes but I'm referring to the filters that bagless have, that are foam, paper, even HEPA. I know you empty the bin...I've had bagless since the mid 90's....but the filters are what clog up and lower the suction. Air doesn't flow as fast as filters fill with dust and dirt
By the way have you noticed with shark/dyson soft rollers when vacuuming (large debris) sometimes the floor head briefly lifts up over what you are vacuuming possibly scratching the floor? Not to mention with a bulky mess stuff can be spit out because it gets in the space between the rounded housing and soft roller?
Man those things are such crap. I always cringe when I see my clients have those or similar bagless vacuums. What brand do you thing does bagless the best (knowing they are all pretty bad)?
Shark vacuums are built dirt cheap with most of your proceeds going to infomercials, commercials, and online advertisements with as little as less than 10 percent of what you pay goes to the total cost of manufacturing for a poor quality machine.
That’s impressive that they got five years of use out of this. However, the brush life simply isn’t that long, and they cannot be replaced. It’s a throw-away motor. Motors can last several decades if companies design them too. Just like Lindhaus, Hoover used to make their own motors in house in the exact same factory as the rest of the product. Those older Hoover motors have a 2000-3500 hour brush life, and when the brushes go, they can simply be replaced along with a commutator cleaning. Ametek, Domel and Lindhaus truly do make the finest motors out there nowadays. The European vacuums truly are an improvement of the older American-made machines.
I don't know why people complain about you or say you don't know what you're talking about you're a technician you've worked in vacuum stores you know what you're talking about
Agree 100%. The front brush is a joke. Filters get filled with dust after one round of vacuuming. No-one, not even consumer reports tests the air quality at the front and in the air after this front brush flings dust in the air. They only test, "pick-up" and "dust containment". Aside from the marketing, Shark keeps selling because their target market is people who already own low performing vacuums. If you're going from a low end or older Dirt Devil or Eureka, you're going to think this Shark is amazing.... Until it stops working....
Haha, the part with the hair remover tool. Shark in a nutshell. Also, I'm very happy with the ending.
I lost mine years ago lol

@Damitsall vacuum wars is not that trustworthy. He's had some sketchy deals with Shark, and he doesn't test longevity of these vacuums.

Know any good Lindhaus dealers that sell online? Trying to order a LW30, no dealer I contacted answers email or phone calls…
Bagless machines rot! You’re vacuuming your house, you go from one room to another and you’re in the middle of a good suck when the dust chamber fills up.
but i love the novelty . but shark's dont have a cyclone so the dust doesn't even separate.
Only an imaginary problem in people's minds.

Tape would not work with negative pressure. Just put it in the proper bin where it belongs🚮
I can't believe anyone would take a unit in for repair without first cleaning it. That's bonkers.

Yup. The cracked hose will spew the dirt all over your house if you don't detect it soon enough. Ask me how I know. Live and learn.

Bagless vacuums don't experience loss of suction if you empty the bin. I know revolutionary thought right?
