      @@DamienPainter Shark is horrible. I seen plenty of vacuum reviews and owned one years ago. I had a Dyson years ago too but I moved and got rid of it. Later I got a eureka but that didn't last long. After many reviews I realized that going back to bag vacuums are actually better. I recently got a Hoover WindTunnel MAX and it works really good. The problem with some other brands is reliability, parts availability and loss of performance. After watching many reviews from professional vacuum maintenance technicians, I realized that a decent bagged vacuum will sustain suction for longer and is less messy. I settled on the Hoover because they are fairly reliable and have some maintenance features that are thought out pretty well.

    I own 6 cats, and I got the Vertex when it came out! LOVE the Vertex! I didn't see much difference between the new Stratos and the Vertex so I'm not opting an upgrade. The only thing I'd like to see Shark improve is the hose... it's rather short and on all my Sharks it tends to tip over the unit when just using the attachments. It's due to the strong suction, which is good, but I've done damage to walls and furniture when the big thing tips over, which is every time I use it in attachment mode without removing the lift away. For those wanting an easy deordizing trick, put your favorite scent drops on cotton balls and put them in the canister empty. It works, even though it's hepa filtered. No need to invest just because of the deodorizer upgrade, which as far as I can tell is the only difference between the Vertex and Stratos... color variation as well but I like the blue brushes on the Vertex better anyway. The vacuums are excellent and have given Dyson a good competitor's run since they started. Can't beat that double roll vacuum head, it's what makes the Shark far superior to the Dyson, where you have to change heads to go from hard to carpet flooring. Most need range to high range vacuums are plenty enough in suction to satisfy a typical homeowner. The under appliance attachment is great for me as my cats constantly end up with their mice and balls under my freezer and fridge... it doesn't suck them up but gets their hair which will cause plugging of fridge vent and painful break down of the appliance if you don't keep it clean. You don't need to suck the dust off the moon, just out of your room...Dyson was revolutionary in their release way back when but now, they just keep adding gadget stuff like Lazer lights, which doesn't really get the dust up better it just shows you it can, which any light will do. So in the end if you get the Vertex for slightly cheaper, you'll get what this model can do... no need to pay for upgraded price for basically the same vacuum. Great review, thanks again!! Smiles and blessings...

She didn't know at the time that it came with a 5 year warranty. It saved us a lot of money. After following troubleshooting and going over what we done to try to remedy the issue before coming to them they approved a replacement of the whole motor part. Part looks just like new and haven't had an issue since. Instead of returning the old motor they just told us to recycle it at our local junk yard, which I did.

    Alright now nice vacuum from Shark... Stratos is really good it appears to pickup pet hair or long human hair strands , without bunching up and knotting onto the roller.... This is the most important feature for a vacuum , regretted not getting this roller feature when I purchased our second Shark ..Lightweight Lift-Away model... First one was a Shark Navigator Heavy-Duty this was by far the best vacuum under $200 , only thing was the real heavy weight of the machine although the power roller easily propelled the vacuum forward ! Next the roller was a super heavy duty cleaning machine, with long lasting bristles although long hair was an issue... The Lightweight Lift-Away is a decently light to control vacuum , the filters are tucked out of the way preventing mass dirt build up.... The two major issues are for one the suction hose won't properly stretch out thus resulting in always tipping over...Plus the second major issue the cord always gets run over or caught up in the vacuum , Why is there no automatic cord retrieval / wind-up for staggered lengths 10 feet , 20 feet etc... This missing feature alone is mandatory for my next purchase , plus can't do without the no-hair knotting rollers on a vacuum.... Now just waiting for Walmart's the big special offer on Vacuums to drop for under $300 Dollars ... Yes I'll be running fast and hard to purchase the Shark Stratos !

    I just got the Shark Stratos Ultralight Corded Stick Vacuum for only $219!!! Brand new. I'm in LOVE!!!! OMG, it's so powerful and amazing!! Unbelievable suction power on both hard floors and carpet!!! I prefer corded stick vacuums over cordless to maintain constant suction and power and air flow. It's more of a pain for the battery to die mid-cleaning than deal with a cord. But the Stratos corded stick has 30' of cord and goes a longggggg way, so it had a cordless feel to it. I have a Sirena water filtration vacuum that I LOVE for heavy-duty total home cleaning, but the Stratos corded stick is excellent for in-between cleanings. I cleaned just my stairs first with my Stratos and had a dust cup full of pet hair before I even finished my stairs!!!! Like WOW!!! Used the same pet turbo brush with PowerFins that you showed and no hair wrap! The only drawback on the Stratos stick is a very small dirt cup. But it has fully-sealed HEPA filtration. YAY! So I'd definitely get this Stratos lift away upright for sure if I didn't already have my $800 Sirena. Thanks for the review! Stratos looks like the best Shark out there!!!! And right now it's on sale at Shark website for only $299!!!

      @spaceishigh Год назад +3

      @Good Gremlin Media try not being so rude and elitist especially over vacuums. The shark I used for a couple years worked well although I had a few gripes with it. Not everyone has the budget to "get out of Walmart" when vacuum shipping. In the end what does it matter? Are you pulling out your uber expensive vacuum to show off to your friends and brag about how much it costs? Probably not and if so that would be kinda weird. I had a $35 *walmart* Bissell that lasted longer and honestly worked better than any other vacuum I've owned.. it was a light weight plastic piece of crap but it never busted up on me, I just wore out the cord.

    • @goodgremlinmedia2757
      @goodgremlinmedia2757 Год назад +1

      @@spaceishigh No. it’s not elitist to spend $800 on a vacuum that lasts 20 years. How is that elitist. It’s financially responsible? That $50 Bissell might suck up dirt but it’s actually dirtying the air as it goes. An unsealed vacuum is a glorified dust relocator. If you have the money to buy a new vacuum every year then you have the money to buy one vacuum that lasts 20 years. Hell you can buy a $200 used Riccar from the Vibrance platform that will last you a decade if you change the belts, brushes, and maintain it properly. You don’t need a small fortune to have a clean home. Just common sense and knowing what you are buying helps too.

    LOL I've owned 2 Goldens, one of them, I named HaHa, but sadly he got cancer at age 5 and had to be put to sleep. My other one, AU is 8 years old now. (Au is the chemical name for gold, and sounds a lot like Hey You).
    Goldens shed more than any dog I've ever had...especially when they blow their coats twice a year. It seems like for about 2 weeks each time you have 15 dogs shedding in the house rather than just 1 golden.
    I've been using a 12 amp Eureka, that on the vacuum itself has a big sticker that claimers "Better than Dyson at 1/2 the price" I paid about $110 dollars for it 10 years ago and it really has impressed me....great suction power and picks up golden retriever hair wonderfully.
    I do love that Shark though...it is more versatile as far as how one can make it a portable with one click, and the bucket looks easier to dump. And wow...no hair on the rollers! My Eureka can't do that. Also, hair inside of the Eureka's canister gets caught between the container and the 'hurricane funnels' at the top of the canister...So I have to reach up, and with my fingers snag and pull clumps of hair from that area.

    The hardest thing to test is how much of the embedded fur does it pull out. Traditionally, it requires a high suction/airflow vacuum with bristles that extend deep into the carpet pile. The best vacuum I have found for this is a Kirby with either the pet brush-roll or the firm brush roll. However, Kirby vacuums are only really practical for carpet. What I mean by that is that they can* clean virtually everything else, but the Kirby has to be converted to use the hose attachments or the hose and hard floor tool for hard floors. Kirbys do not store the hose or any of the tools on-board. However, they are built out of metal - like a tank. They are like those vacuums from decades ago that are built well, are super powerful, and last for decades. I keep one stored in the closet for the occasional once-a-month deep cleaning of the carpet. I use my Miele C3 canister all other times. If I want to use an upright and need to clean more than just the carpet, I typically use the Shark. If I am vacuuming up heavy duty stuff, like debris from a construction job, I use the Kirby.

    This is the kind of vacuum I would want. I broke a cheap Eureka one years ago because of hair wrap around the roller. I didn't know until that vacuum that hair wrap breakage was a thing. I have quite a bit of hair that falls out when I'm styling and I think this would do the trick. I do also really like the lift away aspect for under low furniture which I do have and my current vacuum doesn't fit under there. Lastly I am intrigued by the filter that supposedly eliminates vacuum odors. My current vacuum started to smell really bad after awhile which is one of the major reasons why I got a new one. I got the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser but haven't been able to test it out yet. The price between that one and the Stratos is a major factor in why I wouldn't buy this one. Seems to be a major upgrade in features though from the Apex. So glad to see Bailey be the star of another video. She looked very happy to donate hair to the vacuum cause.

    I have the apex like you do. It’s powerful but it drives me crazy the amount of pet hair that gets wrapped around the brush roll. The small bin is also annoying. Before I saw this video I was considering the dyson ball animal or multi floor. Due to the steep price tag of both and already having a pricy shark I’d love your thoughts on the stratos vs the dyson ball. Thanks for great content.

    • @pattinethery2238

      I have the dyson, it is several years old, but have hated it since day 1. Was advised at the vacuum store not to get it, but I had a couple of friends that recommended. Paid alot more than this shark and didnt like it at all.

    • @OhPhuckYou
      @OhPhuckYou Год назад

      The Dyson feels very cheap for the price. Very thin plastic; especially on the handle. I've opened 3 different Dyson's (Animal Ball Extra, V15, and V10) to set up displays that had broken attachments or parts.
      Dyson has a far better cyclone and doesn't make the pre motor filters dirty as quickly as Sharks do.
      The ball swivel on the Dyson's does make it agile, but also makes the vacuum incredibly clunky and tall at the floor head.
      Dyson does not perform as well on hard floors as the Duo Clean Sharks, but does a better job getting embedded dirt out of carpet. Both do amazing with hair.
      I've never opened a Shark that had any broken parts. They're still made of cheap plastic, but the plastic is nowhere near as chintzy or thin.
      The Sharks also are far more versatile. The Powered Lift-Away function makes it three vacuums in one.
      The Swivel head on the Sharks are more agile in my opinion and don't make the vacuum feel needlessly bulky.
      They both have incredible suction, but I'd say Shark narrowly edges the Dyson out.
      They're both designed to be disposable. Replacement parts are far and few in-between. I feel the Shark will last longer with proper maintenance, but we're not talking about lasting anywhere near as long as a German vacuum.
      If you have more carpet and live in a dusty or sandy area? Buy the Dyson.
      If you have a lot of hard flooring, furniture to clean under, stairs, or pets? Get the Shark.

    I am considering getting this for a review. But $500 is to much for a shark. Most Dysons cost that. Sharks are good but have two major flaws. There cyclone systems are almost useless and mean the filters get clogged with dirt very fast. Two is that Sharks warranty service is basically nonexistent. So good luck getting help from them. Trust me I have reviewed hundreds of vacuums over 5 years.

      I've had the cordless Vertex for almost two years, and while I have to say I do absolutely love it, you're spot on with the filters getting dirty very fast. I believe they say to clean the pre-motor filter should be washed monthly, but I find I need to do it twice a month. Maybe I'm just anal about it, but it always seems filthy after a couple weeks.

    Excellent video! I've seen a lot of reviews that did cereal, kitty litter, & hair test (this thing looks awesome) but I hadn't seen anyone that did the edge test and that's what I was curious about. Is this thing as amazing as it looks? I'm curious how quickly it will break, but to have a canister and upright all in one and that much power would be really amazing!

    As someone formerly owned by a pure-bred Maine Coon, a self-cleaning roller is definitely what is needed, and made me want to give up my old Dyson Animal. That said, 8:37 did seem to have a clump of pet hair tangled tightly around the roller, albeit just in the one spot. Still way better than how my old Dyson's roller gets so full of hair.

    A really good test weird but good have someone you know with long hair brush their hair leave it on the carpet and hard floor. Or get cheap hair extensions see if the get caught around the bar. Lots of sewing thread and yarn for those who craft. That always gets wrapped around the bar.

    The odor neutralizer is interesting. I’m not here to bash Shark but if a vacuum has good filtration, you’ll never smell odors coming from the vacuum. If the air ever smells bad while or after you’re vacuuming, it’s not filtering and it’s releasing dirt into the air.

    I bought this vacuum 2 1/2 weeks ago to replace my $70 Bissell and don't regret it one bit. I got the basic package which doesn't include all of the attachments you have and mines a red one instead of blue and cost only $330 ish after the promo code when I bought it, lol. This vacuum has been a lifesaver for me and I can clean just about anything including my car interior with it. My only gripe is the odor neutralizer cartridge. My Bissell had a similar filter which would put out a nice scent when you vacuumed, but once you washed it, no more nice scent. This one seems like a gimmick because I can smell that vacuum dirt smell a little bit. Otherwise, I would recommend this in a heartbeat.

      X2, same promo deal. Totally worth it. I have the wireless Tineco a11 and it was good for its weight it was never a deep clean like the Stratos. It’s crazy how much this vacuum picks up. I ended up buying the pet tool because I have carpeted stairs and although it was about 60 bucks I think it’s worth it. My only real issue with the vacuum so far is that it’s almost too easy to push forward. It’s hard to keep it in a straight line and like others have mentioned it would have been nice to have LEDs on the wand as well.
