If these kind of instructions were available when I started music studies as a child, it would have made such a difference for me. I have over 40 years of theory under the belt, that I learned the hard way, especially being a young female serious musician in the 60's. Bless You For This!
I appreciate your simple and straightforward teaching method as it makes learning and remembering concepts much easier and faster than others I've encountered!
Thanks Mr. PIANO WIZARD! What a wonderful BLUES lesson. Starting with the BASICS...very essential. Great how you explain what to do. Very inspirational. Just THRILLING. Awesome... WISH (ME) YOU WELL 🙏🎹🙏
Wanted to just say I love your lesson with the blues format…your explanation was excellent and would love to see more examples of licks runs etc with this style 👌🎹
Quite adept! You sure know how to give a compliment 😉. He’s one of the finest Blues players in the world, which is why he plays with Tom Jones and used to play with Jack Bruce and many other greats.
❤this blues lesson…can you please explain some slow blues style..with left hand comp chords with right hand runs licks etc…really want to learn this type of music in depth as much as possible 🎹thanks again Grant😊
Awesome Mr. 😍 BOOGIE WOOGIE MAN 🎹 😍 just beautiful...so inspiring the way you present it...stunning stuff...Vielen Dank...WISH YOU WELL...GREETINGS from SPAIN
Excellent video, very helpful to guys like me wanting to learn how to use the blues scale; the selection of riffs is a great bonus that gives me a lot to learn from. Thanks.
Thanks. Nice ideas, which I could work out immediately and play. Simple, but effective and useful. Sounds good when you play it. very clear. excellent video of the keyboard. So, technically great, attitude great, music great. Big help. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for a brilliant lesson!! And that gorgeous U3 ? Yamaha has a twin in my living room:)) I keep mine open as much as possible and the sound blows me away. I’m going to be playing the blues very shortly, thanks to you!!
Haha, I second that, at first glance I thought, oh my Ringo is giving a piano blues lesson, I know he plays in C, he says so on a record, early 1970, ha. Anyway, I've been launched into blues lately, I'm a guitarist , but man, so important to know what the pianist is doing, blues piano adds a lot to the group, just like boogie as well. Pianos so logical sometimes compared to guitar. Yeah man, wow r u ever a dead ringer for Ringo at some point in his life, amazing resemblance .
The left hand is so brutal to get down. I have been working on learning a left hand pattern other than the basic shuffle. I've put 10 hours of solid practice over the last 2 weeks into it. Starting to come together but it is still so rough. I can play known licks over top of it now, but with any improvisation it all falls apart.
@@briankelly2670 EVERYONE struggles. If you don't struggle you ain't human. Nobody was born knowing how to do this, or have it come easy. I've been at it over a year and just now getting a little comfortable with it (I'm still not there, but it's coming and now almost forgetting how hard it first was).
Hi my friend, i stop playin piano in my yout, but that iam old and stell happy i getting back to it, i love the way u teach and play, would u teache me ,, FILING AL RIGHT BY JOE COCKER, OR LITTLE FROM MY FRIENDS, thanks bro DTB MEANS GOD BLESSES U,
Great video! By the way do you know the middle pedal is also a little "on" now as the hammers touch the bottom of white slice of felt. 🤣 maybe its on purpose i dont know?
Muitas dúvidas resolvidas, inclusive quando meu filho me explicou como colocar a tradução da lingua, visto que meu ingles é bem básico. obrigada por compartilhar...agora arregaçar as mangar e treinar.
Hi. I am quite new to blues piano. I have just come back to piano after some years doing other post-grad studies. I am actually a scientist and archaeologist (ex-drummer of the 60s & 70s). I am having difficulty with this concept, i.e., the right-hand pattern G, slide off F# to Eb then C. I find it difficult to match the rhythm because the comping of the left hand is playing the first and third beat of a triplet whereas the right hand is trying to fit 4 notes in the same space it seems. Could somebody enlighten me as to why I am having difficulty with this? Cheers George.

I know, it helps so much! I can say I already play a decent if not good blues and boogie-woogie. I learnt all about it from youtube.
What a mild mannered nicely paced lesson. Thanks Mr Starkey
timing @ 3:50 helped so much, made me realize thats something most tutorials are lacking
Didn't know Ringo could play piano this good !
Seggsie
Hah! He does look exactly like a young Ringo!
This is great. I feel like you just planted the seed of playing blues piano into my head. And all I got to do now is work it over and over again.
Love how you broke down the timing for the left with the right (4:00-4:20) thats whst I've been struggling with the most. Thanks!!!!

Thanks, great as usual!
Great tutorial thanks!
Great player! Great lesson! Sounds so damn bluesy! I love it! Great feel!
Very good riffs, looks like the twin of ringgo is riffing 👐
Really good. I noticed you move your thumb to your 4th finger in Left hand. Hard to tell if your playing the 5th with 4 or 5 finger. Intrigues me.
Its good if you can have virtual key board illuminating the keys your playing. Can behard to see, from above.
Thanks for the many great lessons.
The Best teacher in WWW
Great work!!
Awesome Paddy! Love it :)
Very good! Thanks!
Good stuff. The pig of it, of course, is keeping the left hand going steady without sounding mechanical or manic.
pantano207 That’s right! Once you have that down, you’re halfway there.
Agree...I find it ridiculously difficult.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is struggling with the left hand.
