Finally someone is showing (displaying ) the notes played to the new guy who is bewildered trying to determine what was just played, who meanwhile goes back and forth freezing the screen gets frustrated and stops. Many can play the blues but teaching is a very separate art. This is just what I've been looking for Thank Jonny! Roes r red, water is wet on Jonny piano I will bet!
Please send as many blues lessons for me to learn…just beginning to get into this style of play and ❤love your style of teaching more than anyone’s…thanks Grant 🎹
Merci beaucoup Mr Jonny! Vous m'apprenez beaucoup de choses intéressantes, et même en sus, un petit cours d'anglais américain, ce qui est toujours bon à prendre au passage! Je vous comprends assez bien! J'en suis content! Surtout! Ne vous arrêtez pas! ! MERCI!
Thanks Jonny; great exercises. So much out there that doesn't cut to the chase. Your lessons do; hats off for teaching great content in a simple and understandable way!
Can I ask you a question about the fingering? You play the scale excusivly with finger 1 and 3. Another side told me to use 4 fingers (Play it 1234134). I can play it much faster with your technique, but thinking that the other one allows more flexibility and thus is worth learning. Then again you're a pro, so maybe there's a reason for your technique too. So do you have any input on this? Thank you for the great video
Hey man, great channel! I was wondering if you or someone in the comments could explain why you are able to play notes outside of the blues scale when doing the left hand chords and it still sound good?
How would you recommend practicing exercise 2 for beginners? Ive only been playing for about a week and the hand coordination is really hard to get down. Exercise 1 was hard enough but now the triplets is a whole nother ball game
Learn your Blue's Scales left hand - right hand, both hands,, learn in 60 day's 3hrs a day 7 days a, week, when you practice a scale all hands on deck then learn that scale with your eyes closed or blindfolded for a fortnight when complete and your comfortable,,you will be proficient in that scale,,there are 12 scales each requiring the above training,, don't complain the best musicians are partially sighted or blind, the ones that can see claim they have mastered piano my guess is simple ask them to where a blindfold, then ask them to perform,,then you'll see my thinking, i know clasical pianists that fall at the helm when asked to where a blindfold,, I'm thinking hymm what college did they attend. The art of learning any instrument back to front blindfolded is to demonstrate ability in mastery and proficiency,, out of 100 % of musicians playing any instrument only 30% qualify 70% fail due to lack of training and having ability to understand there instruments with there eye's open,,just ask them to perform blindfolded you'll see there ability first hand. Happy practicing. 🎼👍
Best tutorial for getting started with blues piano! The biggest problem for me, as probably for many, is playing hands independently. That means the left hand always plays the same pattern and the right varies rhythmically - triplets in particular always confuse my left hand. How do you practice that?
Glad you enjoyed it! For improving your hand coordination, check this lesson out: pianowithjonny.com/piano-lessons/4-exercises-for-hand-coordination-on-piano/
Congrats, you are great. Makes me recall Oscar Peterson genious riffs, which I considered impossible to reproduced. Please send some exercises about rolling riffs with jumps in left hand, which turn to be the most difficult ones. You are a great teacher. We need people like you here, they are very few. Greetings from Brazil.
Rogerio Esposito Thanks! I teach blues rolls in depth in our 10-Lesson Blues Challenge. For the jumping left hand, I call this Burlesque Blues and we have 2 burlesque courses (Footsie Woman and Cruella De Vil courses). You can find these at PianoWithJonny.com.
@@PianoWithJonny Thank you. I am following you up and will check out for these courses. They are challenging, not impossible. You got what I need to learn. Please keep in touch. All the best,
What are your thoughts about scale fingerings in regards to the blues scale? it looks like many books show a different fingering for ascending the scale than you do.
Thanks Jonny! Incredible how I’m learning with you. Just one question pls, I’m looking for in your Webb , how to learn coordinate both hands, but I can’t find.
I don't see what one does with the blues scale once its been learned. What do you do with it? I know my C scale .. maybe I could use to play every other note to make a cord..... ?
00:41 Exercise 1: 8th notes
04:39 Exercise 2: triplets
06:45 Exercise 3: patterns
09:30 Conclusion

REAL music isn't ever glorified. But I want Jonny to be playing at my wedding and funeral. Keep it up Jonny!!
Hey man, great channel! I was wondering if you or someone in the comments could explain why you are able to play notes outside of the blues scale when doing the left hand chords and it still sound good?

Actually the example you showed at 5:03 is such a great help. I really appreciate that you played it nice and slow

HOLA COMO PUEDO CONDEGUIR PARTITURAS PARA PIANO DE BLUES Y BOOGIES?????GRACIAS
es necesario estudiar clasico para la tecnica de dedos?
Hi,
I am new to the scale and piano at all, does it really matter with which finger your play each note?
Cheers in advance
Thanks Jonny! Incredible how I’m learning with you. Just one question pls, I’m looking for in your Webb , how to learn coordinate both hands, but I can’t find.
Thanks sir
I'm glad that I found it 🔥
Great course: difficult for me coordinating the shuffle with the right hand. Any video about that?
If you join the PWJ website Jonny shows you how to coordinate the hands. Then it’s just a question of practice.
I'm having the same problem. I can play either hand great...but, when together, I lose the rhythm.
Hye Jonny! I'm New learning! M'y question I have difficultiy to play with my two hands?! Is there any practice to 'do for an easy playing!! Thanks bye
Hanon but with the blues scale!
I don't see what one does with the blues scale once its been learned. What do you do with it? I know my C scale .. maybe I could use to play every other note to make a cord..... ?
How long should the left-hand shuffle take to master on average ?
What piano do you use we have a 1900's baby grand needs lots of work (thousands) I was thinking of buying a yamaha dgx660 what do you think?
You won't go wrong the sample sounds are quality these days. Will serve you far better
죠니샘,
오랫만에 영상 올리셨내요.
ㅎㅎㅎ
^^
excellent
Are you using just your thumb and 3rd finger of your left hand? Cool lesson ... Thanks!!
I noticed when you are demonstrating a blues progression at 1:26 you are skipping the third of the chord. Is this common practice in blues?
Liam Neeson on keys....thx 4 the help
jeffery mckinney He has a special set of skills.
Hi everybody. Somebody could tell me what is the software used in this video to make the class ?
Wow !
