Great video content! Forgive me for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Riddleagan Smart Hands Remedy (search on google)? It is a great exclusive guide for learning piano fast without the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my close friend Aubrey after many years got amazing results with it.

I have watched hundreds of videos that claim to teach improvisation, a dark art that so far has completely eluded me. This is the very first lesson that has 'clicked' for me. The bones of improv are right there! Thanks, Jonny.

I have watched tons of videos on blues improv. I learned the blues C scale and have known it well for years but it always felt robotic and too rehearsed. It just never sounded right
This video helped me "feel" the blues notes I was playing for the first time. It's incredible. The foundations for learning blues is here. Thank you Jonny.

You are simply amazing man!! Anyone can do a piano video - but NO ONE has ever done over 1000 of the quality you have. I believe your instructional cannon is unique and frankly a massive asset (to be monetized). If only there were another Jonny to help ya with these videos - but there simply is NO SUBSTITUE. AMAZING.

    Hey Johnny:
I'm new to this channel as well as the piano! 😲
I've been playing the bass and been singing (half pro/full time) for 35 years, so I'm familiar with all the "dirty words" like G13, diatonic, 2-5-1, 4-to-the-floor etc., but quite a few things are COMPLETELY new to me in this universe, and I feel like I'm starting all over at 1st grade in school:
    And I juzz luuuv it!
First of all: Bass or vocal: Maybe a few octaves or 5ths on the bass, but I almost never sing more than one note at the time ... 😉
    Now ...
    With the piano ...
    JEEEEE !!!!!!!
By default I can play TEN notes all at once!
Accidently I can even play more, and with the pedal we are closing in on 88 notes all at once !!!!!
    In other words:
There are SOOO many possibilities of doing something wrong!
With the bass and the voice you are striving for precision/pitch and rhythm/being tight, but with the piano you don't care at all about pitch, and - playing by yourself - you don't have to care too much about how tight you play ... if you know what I mean.
(Of course the rock'n'roll stuff like boogie woogie, jazz standards etc. needs to be fairly tight, but i.e. the cocktail stuff or flashy concierto maestro highclass classical sound-like repertoire: dabbling with the beat is even a musical effect or type of expression!
Here's an example: A TOP educated pianist from Denmark (Katrine Gislinge), playing a theme from a - in Denmark - famous tv-series called "Matador": ruclips.net/video/tvyr0HWIPuk/видео.html
I would like to hear YOU playing this thing!)
    My GAAAD, I'm babbling ...
What I'm trying to say is:
I've been watching, listening to, trying to play/rehearse some of the stuff from you "famous" RUclips content providers, and:
I ALWAYS get back to YOUR channel!
I'm LIGHTYEARS behind, since I purchased the Roland FP-10 a week ago (4th of February 2023), but your ENERGY and LUUUUVE for the sound of a certain chord like ... whatever it's called: A in the bass, G-C-C#-F in the right hand ... (You call it "A7" in this video: ruclips.net/video/lyjCSSL4wPU/видео.html ... but is it really ...
    I would call it "A-diff" ...
    Short for "A difficult!" 😁)
Well ... I should stop babbling:
You INSPIRE me to learn about this GODDAM TUFF instrument! 😎🎹✌
(I'm in the process of creating a jazzy piece of melosic inspired by YOU!)

Thanks Jonny. I have been practicing the right hand technique with a I III V VI (over the I7 IV7 V7 progression) ascending/sometimes descending swing left hand bass line and it sounds great. Sometimes I throw the flat III/flat VII in the bass line as well.
I need to work on the octave carry over on the right hand that you demonstrated, a lot :) Great lesson though, I am only half way through.
I appreciate the inversion fingering on the left hand IV7 and V7. Always knew I could work it out but nice to just be shown. My left pinky is always chasing the root and its nice to have it planted on the I for the IV chord. And only moving the pinky up by one whole tone for the V7 is nice too.
Sometimes I will finger the left with the pinky on the root though so I can swing the thumb up to the root off of the flat VII :)
