Beautiful truck. My brother had a 1969 Transtar with a 318 Detroit back in the 70s . It was one of the first trucks I drove over the road . Still like the old trucks over the shiny new one's. Thank's for sharing it.
Nice truck. I especially LOVE!!!!!!! the closing shot because I got to hear THE AWESOME!!!! sound of the Detroit Diesel engine. To me that sounds AWESOME!!!! LOUD!!!! but AWESOME.
From an esthetics standpoint the Transtar was just a good looking truck! Everything went together, great lines, clean design. My first job out of college was with a company who ran them exclusively, over 1,000 with 8V-71s and 13 speeds, and they pretty much ran forever. If I was still in the business and found one in this shape, I'd stroke a check in a country minute!
I drove both the A and B model Transtars back in the day, one with the 318, and an Eagle with the 400 Cummins, Reyco spring ride on both, rough riding trucks
I drove several of those Transtar's, they were ok trucks but the dash are just plain. I was laid over in Flagstaff, AZ. I bought some wood grain contact paper took the dash panels off put the contact paper on put it back together and it looked so much better. I only put it around the speedometer, tachometer and gages right in front of the driver. I figured the rest to the right may have been a bit too much. That was in 1980 the truck was a 1977 290 Cummins, 10 speed, 3.55 drive gears nothing fancy
I had an uncle who drove one like this when drive for Coca-Cola in Cedar Rapids, Iowa then I think he drove one like this when he went independent which he was killed in that truck.

Yeah the Reyco spring suspension anything over 45000 Lbs. on a bumpy road like I 95 NY City up to Boston I was always cracking springs
Very nice
Nice truck and colors red with s chrome tanker 🎆🔥🔥🔥

Awesome! I grew up beside a GMC truck dealership and still miss the sound of the 2 stroke Detroit, as there's so few of them still running.
Reminds me of the same tractor trailer in the Terminator movie where it was blown up.

I'm not a fan of Transtars at all but this one hits the spot just right, not over the top just a nice period piece.
