Good review on the van alarm im getting one . Just a bit late getting one because I've just had my van turned over on a job about £2k of dewalt tools out of my van . I do take my gear out at night but this happened in the day . Brilliant video as usual mark love watching keep up the videos 👍

Thanks mate… will be doing a little “2 weeks in” review this week with what I’ve found
Great video. I’ll be looking into the vanolarm.
Thanks mate 👍🏼👍🏼
looks like a decent enough alarm, only issue with the app is how many notifications do u get from all ur different apps, its just another one to ignore once u lay ur phone down on the kitchen table once u get home
It also sends you a text message and you can set it to ring your phone aswell👍🏼👍🏼
For the money and ease of fitting it’s spot on I think👍🏼👍🏼
Will see how it is after a few weeks of using it
I have set a different ring tone to the text and phone call received from the unit so I know straight away not to ignore it.

Good luck with the detox Mr and Mrs Tiff, I hope you both get some fantastic results and I look forward too following your progress.
The barn conversion continues and is looking brilliant but I know it’s been a bit of a slog for you at times, I know you will see it through now.
Thank you for taking the time to share the information on the van alarm, if it saves you from just one single break in, its paid for its self.
You can only do your best to protect your property from the scum bags of this world. Another brilliant film with plenty real world content,

Hey Chris…. Thanks for the comment as always, yer really looking forward to starting the detox in the morning….. will keep you all posted how it’s going.
@@MJTiffPlumbing Excellent, thank you 👍👍👍👍
I've been looking at these vanolarm's for months, glad you've done this vid, do you have to keep topping up the credit on the sim? how's it work?
Yer as it sends a message/rings you when alerted so I guess every 3/4months at a guess….. it comes with £10 credit on it
@@MJTiffPlumbing so I'm guessing it'll cost to send the texts? At like 5p a text or unlimited every month with a £10 top up. Can be annoying if kids are being asswipes 🤣
More annoying if you go out to your van and your tools have gone 🙈🙈🤣🙈🙈
It’s a 1p per text SIM card from EE…. Would last a while I would say buddy
@@MJTiffPlumbing in the current wind has that set them off at all yet? I dunno if it's windy up by you but we've got some mild wind at the min :)
@@killerbean9911 oh mate, it’s been biblical wind and rain most of the day and all has been good…. I even thought this is the perfect test 🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
If for any reason the main gps doesn’t go off can you still see it’s location? Recently had my van and tools pinched so I’m wanting something decent
You can see it constantly via the app mate 👍🏼👍🏼
You can buy a back massager that fits to your seat, plugs into cigarette lighter socket, ideal on long journeys.
Remember them beaded seat covers you could get 🤣🤣
Which settings did you tinker with via app… having few issues with smart alarm recognising audible alarms going off and notifying my phone…. Smart alarm when in house picks up vibration and noise and notifies…maybe poor reception area where van is parked maybe
I have turned down the sirens not the smart app.
Drop them a message on Facebook, they are pretty good at getting back to you.
Could be a signal issue maybe??
Good video been looking at getting this system
Check out tonight’s video at 6pm for a bit of a recap 👍🏼👍🏼
Bought this alarm last week and fitted it today. This video was a great help. I fitted the main GPS unit next to the side door in back cabin and received 4 message alerts when drove for 10 minutes. Annoying.
When I get in the van in the morning I go to the app and “disarm” the sensors….. then “arm” when I finish unless I’m parking the van up where it could get attacked.
Takes literally 10seconds
You need to go into App and disarm the sensors
@@MJTiffPlumbing having to arm and disarm every time I'm in and out of the van throughout the day is a pain. Should've been so it arms/disarms with the fob. Massive flaw
You're right, the arming and disarming via the so is a complete pain. You can't even do Sound and Vibration at the same time you have to do one by one! Also, the app freezes on Android daily so not only do you have to "kill" it but you are no longer getting alerts when it freezes and you have no idea!
@@bigfatfrog67 I occasionally have the same problem too with the app glitching. Very annoying
Aww Good of you looking for whole world to be safe I hope the small to do will go help peaple. Thank you. God bless.
We love you you helping people do to an support environment. Thank you. God bless.
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
How sensitive it though, massive wind gusts and road noise could deffo set that off? If not then it looks decent
Well last night was the ultimate test and no false alerts😉😉
Great video! Thanks for taking the time. I agree with another comment, Mark. If you look at the install video they recommend you should locate the tracker sender unit in the cab so it's not blocked by the metal structure of the cargo area. I would hide it some where under the dashboard or something. Good idea about disguising the unit with a sticker etc 😉. I guess thieves would get wise to the system I might quickly find the unit but for £135 it's not gonna be totally full proof. Well done mate 👏🏻
Not sure it would pick up the siren sounds of it was in the glove box or away from the sirens…
@@MJTiffPlumbing give it a try if there are delays with receiving the sms messages
The nearest alarm I can find that does a similar job but is hard wired costs £850 without installation 😬😯.
Good vid what about those Yale type locks you can fit think pb has them very secure.👍👍👍
Yep they are an option…. But that doesn’t deter the scumbags that cut a hole in the door or roof…..
Enjoyed the video. I have literally just got one of these and have come to te conclusion that the bit that Vanolarm do is the vibration sensors, and that they are trying to make it work with the tracker device which is bought out. The biggest issue I see at the moment is that there is no way to turn the unit on or off, so, while you can turn off vibration the thing is basically permanently on and so sends constant false or pointless messages. On top of which my unit will not physically turn off. It needs an on / off feature on the app.
Just turn off the sensors on the app…. I turn it off each morning and on each night…. Perfect👌🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing I don't think you can do that with the geofencing though. My van stays at work, I go home. So I want to know if it is moving, but I don't want to know when I'm driving it. I don't need all the constant messages.
@@MOTMotorsport yer you can, I do it every morning, just go into the app, disarm and away you go. No messages👍🏼👍🏼
Brilliant video again 👍🏻 does your discount still work for the laser level?
Thanks mate, I think it’s ran out now as there was a certain amount allocated and they went very quick
Hi mate. Happy new year.
Great reviews on van alarm.
Does the sim need topping up regularly?
Does it cost much for each notification ?
Maybe an update now you have lived with it ?
Thank you.
Hey mate, I’ve been meaning to do an update.
You get a sim card with it that’s loaded with £10 of credit, each notification is 1p…… I’ve still not had to top it up since I fitted it

I'm thinking of getting one of these but the alarm sounds way to low, can it be turned up?
Not that I’m aware of mate….

Nope all is good here, it’s not triggered due to birds, rain, wind or anything👍🏼👍🏼
try moving the sim module from the all metal enclosure to the glove box or somewhere a signal can get to easier - glass is good :)
Not sure it would pick up the siren sound if it was in the glovebox to be honest… but you never know

Bought one of the alarms in may, sensors work well but tracking unit/ alert unit spends more time offline and is useless. Even sent it back to be checked and they said it was fine, tried different Sims etc but no better
That’s a shame mate…. Will see how I get on with mine
You may need to change Sim to another network. Alternatively a roaming sim is the ultimate as it switches between networks when in low signal areas.
@@Thecherriesvids tried other Sims, all the same as soon as it goes in van loses connection

Part of me likes the idea of those alarms, part of me knows that the kids that walk up and down the street pinging door handles are going to love messing about with it and deliberately setting it off. I for one am inclined to go with the 360 camera security option with the security speaker, not sure when it'll be available over here but there's a chance it'll be an option on new vans from next year.
Each to there own but for £135 for me it’s a no brainer… every little helps 👍🏼👍🏼
Black Belt Barrister channel did an upload where you are allowed to point a video camera. Someone gone fined for having one pointed towards a shared common car parking area. Doesn't stop the council raking in money from van drivers spending 30 seconds in an empty bus lane.
Have you seen their new video demonstrating how this doesn't happen
ruclips.net/video/VjI-9-LPmI0/видео.html
I bought one of these with all the sensors, The sensors work fine it’s the GPS that is rubbish most of the time it’s off-line I’ve even tried a new Sim card.
You could’ve saved a lot of money by buying the sensors from Amazon with out the GPS!
Don’t buy from the website
Don’t buy the GPS unit it’s a waste of money
I’ve since then had a proper alarm fitted to my van but I still use the door sensors as a deterrent
To be honest mine has been spot on, online 99% of the time and Alerts me if it needs to… I guess it’s down to network coverage
Marmite. Don't like the idea. Celery. Too stringy, peppery and a calorific net negative.

Hi, after a year would you still recommend it? Any other problems etc?thanks
For the money it’s very good…. It’s has its issues as I said but pair it with the ARMD guard and it’s brilliant
Does anyone know if these sensors are sensitive to heavy rain and traffic on busy roads before i buy?
Not a problem buddy
My pipe rack is constantly being robbed. Got van vault pipe racks but they are seriously shite with protection and easy to pry open. Does the sensor pick up vibration from the pipe rack?
HI Mark.
The BIGGEST issue is even if you get to your van and are able to confront the thief . Likely there is 2 or more are you going to risk attacking them ,getting in a fight risking your life from a possible stabbing. The only thing i can think of is stabbing the take away cars tyres so they cant get away so easily maybe smash the windscreen and run .. All this as the MRS phones the ROZZERS. rgds Don
The whole point is that with the first alert it stops them from even trying anymore…. They move on…. Job done.
Hello buddy, have you thought about doing an update on the alarm? I've just got one and will be fitting it this weekend and I was wondering if there were any teething problems also maybe if you were going to do an update maybe you could talk about the settings . 👍
Yer I should do follow up on it
Did you see a video pb done? He has a meeting or has had the meeting with a van manufacturer to see about getting a tradesman pack set up on there vans as an optional extra!

Great video and very informative , I may treat myself next time I get a big cash job 😀
It’s worth it as it’s another deterrent to keep your tools/van safe
Get an auto watch alarm. You can get wired or wireless motion and door sensors for van load space. Originally designed for motor homes I believe. Perfect for door folding etc.
Exactly the same as this mate
The auto watch is a full Cambus insurance approved alarm working of your existing wiring system. You can have the door and pirs wired aswell as wireless, they do the same thing I agree. You can take this one onto another van which is a good idea if you change your van regularly or cant fit because of lease agreements.
Autowatches ghost system is a good idea to if you live in an area where vans dissappear alot.
Loving watching your videos mate, I do alot of large new builds like the barn you did. Keep the videos coming.
Nice one.....thieving scumbags can buy an electronic disabling fob off e bay for about £30 that will kill that system and a lot of high end alarm systems at the touch of a button making these systems useless.....it's a sad state of the times we live in these days but the only chance you have of protecting your livelihood is to fit as many locks as possible on the doors of your van and hope for the best....👍
Everything you do is hoping for the best….. something is better than nothing.
With this if some little scumbag gets deterd by the warning beep going off and it rings my phone so I go out then it’s worth it for that alone….. if everyone thought “why bother as you can buy something off eBay” then no one would have anything on there van.
Something is better than nothing, I have one… I know if it goes off I will get an alert to which I can go and check my van…..
So in my honest opinion it’s not “Useless” that’s why I’ve done a review so others can at least try and protect there livelihood a little 👍🏼👍🏼
The smart gps unit is not armed/disarmed via a fob signal. So if the alarms were disabled by use of an electronic blocker the smart gps unit would still be active and would still activate upon noise and/or vibration. So you would still get a text and or phone call.
@@jonathanalder1206 yer the smart unit is constantly on….. 👍🏼 even better
Those type of fobs don't work on Vanolarm as they don't just use RF connectivity. If the sirens are blocked, which shouldn't be possible (they don't ping) then the smart unit works on a different system (for this very reason) and has its own vibration tech, geofence and tracking (which can be set to alert your phone also)
Any chance of a follow up video? Or any comments on how its been?
Hey mate, yes I’ve been meaning to do one…👍🏼
Leave it with me
Good luck to you mark and your good lady on the detox journey 👍 was thinking if the van alarm sends you a text and allways uses the same number you can manually assign a sound to that number like a bell or siren as I've done the same with my mothers panic button as I don't allways hear the text tones.
Yep you can have this ring your phone aswell…👍🏼👍🏼 good idea about the tone
Down side to battery alarms is lack of decibels.
Yep it’s more of a deterrent…..

🤣🤣🤣 I just meant via the remote if you can sound the alarm 🚨 but that did give me laugh so thank you 🙏
Does it keep going off in high winds
Nope, not a problem at all
Love at the end…I’ve tweaked the sensitivity and got it sending through straight away..proceeds to touch the roof like a butterfly landing on it and buzz’s instantly 😂. I’ve actually got one of these and I’ve still yet to fit it! was going to wait until I got my racking all put in but now knowing they and the unit need to go on the doors and near them out the way I won’t have to.
