Back in the 70’s as not even a teenager I spent days turning straw with something called a “side rake” it was an antique back then but there was nothing better for turning rows. It inverted the row and put it on fresh dry ground. The old side rake was land wheel driven so not very good where there was a shunt ( rows were much smaller in those days). Fast forward 50 years and the side rake has made a comeback with style. The rotors are identical but wider. Experience tells me you are running the rotors way too fast. Probably half that speed
Who remembers the Wuffler great for stirring things up
Back to the 1950s ; they used to pull things like that with horses.

We made up a long hose from the air brake connection to pump tires when you get caught out worked well and any tractor with air can pump them up, Hope the weather improves for you and the yields 👍 jockey wheel for a trailer in the package

We have a very old hay turner in the shed from the 1950’s, just the same principle. Amazing to see a much bigger modern version being used.

I like the 100 year old rake. I have one land wheel driven where one can take the central bits out for tedding It was made by Bomford or Bamford? It was originally horse drawn but father put a drawbar on it. My father replaced it with the Lely Cock Pheasant tedder. It was only 1982 when the farm went on to a PZ Haybob. I think Lely Vemer also had this type of rake. It is so simple but efficient. Always great videos, thanks and best of luck with the 2024 harvest.

I'm throwing it in or chucking it out . Or it's a bit like me just now i dont know if I'm coming or going 😂. Jocky wheel?. Olly how wonderful and kind of you to take the tractor to the school for the kids a special treat for them i bet they loved it. We just bought my 2year old grandson a battery ride on tractor as he loves tractors.

Having rowed up turned wet straw and acres and acres of hay I think the land speed and the pto speed especially are too fast for that straw. Experience has taught me to keep the pto speed much slower than the 540 to be effective. Even now when turning and especially rowing up our hay I keep the revs down to 1400 rpm on my case , it was definitely the right thing to do this year on our hay as due to the conditions we were 2 weeks later cutting so the grass was more stemmy therefore brittle so susceptible to breaking up. Good to see the old fashioned side take principal making a coming back . Think your idea of adding the available plastic boards to the take should help too.

Well you just need more of that paper towel to dry all the straw in that field
It's still better to rake straw an hour or so before the baler to air it up especially if layed on the ground over night!
Is the rake angle variable on that rake ? Lowering the speed slightly more angle and the float setting on front
linkage selected would all help.

It's not how you rake it its how you shake it! That's what she said😅 hopefully that's a jockey wheel from kramp and you can get an adapter lead to plug the camera in the fendt, believe it inverts two of the pin positions 👍

I've noticed barley fields found kings Lynn is being chopped, instead of being baled can't understand why this cash crop isn't being used.
It always puzzles me how few people actually “like” the video. It doesn’t cost anything, and like you say its a massive help.

I assume you know that only 2 of the camera connections are analogue? The other 2 are digital and need a special camera. (So I was told during our installation)
