Well done Oscar for having the cheek to ask to have a go and well done to you for let him having a go most people would have said fu!k off not trusting him
Reminds me of me, back in the early 90's as a young lad. Asked a pig&sheep farmer if they wanted help and worked with him till he pretty much retired then moved up the road to a dairy farm. Even taught me to drive at 11/12 on the first farm and on the road at 13 on the dairy farm.
Running at around 90% today. Been suffering for six months with depression, but with some amazing support I am starting to shake the monkey off my back. HUGE thanks Olly for highlighting mental health, what you do really does save lives. ❤ Sign for the back of the combine - Please be patient with us while we work on your behalf to feed the UK.
Absolutely brilliant blog Olly, sorry to hear how low the OSR was returning!! 😢 The rake / Fendt / bailer outfit looked fantastic! 😊 Morgan’s spike was certainly worth all the effort he put into designing and building it, cool. 👍 lovely seeing the combine doing its thing ❤
Evening Olly. On the 728 camera plugs first plug is normal camera. Other 2 nearest windows are for your digital camera. When you unscrew black caps you’ll see they are different colours.
Might be worth leaving the please be patient sticker on and stick the old Marshall sticker on the “from farm gate to dinner plate good food comes to those who wait”
Morgan has done a great job fabricating that bale spike it looks solid to me. I remember the episode where Oscar had a go on the Merlo. Good to see a young local lad with some work ethics 👍👍
Some beautiful calendar photo's today, on top of all you have to do, maybe save a few of the best to sell? Anyway as usual, brilliant video, lots of interesting content, and the baling combo looks the business!!!! Thanks for your time editing on your phone too.
Your new rake is doing a brilliant job It’s just a pity how low the OSR is yielding but Olly your not on your own it’s going to be a funny harvest this year Straw prices are through the roof You’ve got some super kit now Olly your two Fends look ace certainly are the business having good kit is everything to me because today you only have a very short window to get your crops in so you can’t afford breakdowns feeing 90% today and Olly brilliant video
Great to see Oscar with you now ! Reminds me of myself back in the seventies helping out at my local farm looking after the grain dryer in the school summer holidays! Great times .
Great video Olly and the rake worked great and there’s a end cap still needs welding on the second one up on the passenger side before it gets touched up but looks great 👍👍
Will be low yields all round this year Ollie let's hope weather gives everyone a break . Had 23 today in Meath Ireland but had rain earlier this morning do no harvest today .
Evening Olly I am just back from normandy in france. I spotted plenty of fields of maize, and I measured one of the fields, and it was over 8 feet tall
Hi Olly fantastic video the rake and the bailer working together was fantastic ..Morgan has made a great job of the bail spike Oscar seems like he's keen to get into farming I remember the day he was on the merlow.🌞🌞😎😎50%
What a super looking outfit is the baler , rake & the Fendt, I will agree the best tractor around. A pity about your OSR , after the season we have had this year it was always going to the case. The spike is a good addition , well done Morgan. Oscar looks like he is enjoying being with you and the team. 65% Today.
Been busy the last couple of days, so playing catchup on vids now. You commented that the skyfall was a bit short. I thought the trend was too make shorter crops to make them more resistant to weather and put more into the heads than wasting energy on the stalks... What's the downside of being "too" short?
Loving all the new kit and also great to see Oscar getting a chance to drive the combine. Do you have a name for ‘Morgan’s Spike’ btw or did I miss that. Harvest is always the highlight of the year. Wishing you decent weather and decent yields.
Make you wonder where the OSR will come from. Very little grown in north Lincs now and you don’t see much grown anywhere now. Just seen Saturdays forecast for your side of the country 😳
That rake looks the business as cleaning ground giving it a good raking!! Feeling 80% today after seeing big beasts coming out sheds eating their way into harvest, beans look to be best crop so far, hows the spud boys ? I have some massive loads coming off fields on the way to wales, (side of m56_ near wind turbines)
Thats a nice setup with the baler & rake. My God how things have moved on since my day with a haybob and Massey 20 baler ! I've heard on another channel that flea beetle doesn't like chicken manure in the seedbed ? Any available near you to try on OSR ground ?
Olly how did that Irish soap work for you around the combine after during the winter ….? I live in Ireland and I’ve never seen that soap in any supermarkets …. Great video Olly … yes yields are looking shite but you have to just horse on, easy for me to say can’t imagine the invoices ye guys get on a daily basis between everything diesel, tax , wages a nightmare I’d say…… 1st corn I brought to mill on my own . Location Minch Norton Bagnelstown, Co Carlow , Ireland on a 2650 JD , Q cab but low cab model and gears between your ballsack….😂🤣 then got my hands on the 3050 for the next load …… just an animal back in the day ….. what a sweet tractor to drive back then…… anyway old fart here , 45, grew up in countryside surrounded by farm machinery and plant machinery at the time …. Was servicing JCB 3C’s and 3CX’ s , Volvo 821 dumpers Komatsu PC 300’s and cat track machines when I was 12 …… great memories …… I just love watching all this equipment and the advanced tech in a short time period….. like the local lads using Spere New Holland combines , no cabs , !! Jasus barley was a bastard, lads in the soaring heat with 2 jackets to keep dust and general itchy shit away and a face mask for dust …… 😂😂keep up the good work.
Ɓack in the 80 s richard long had a mc connel shakerator pulled by a 120 c fiat crawler tractor, then on a new track marshall 155 ?? ,spent many an hour on the bone shakers. 34 degrees c in saskatchewan canada no combines yet.85%
Well done Oscar for having the cheek to ask to have a go and well done to you for let him having a go most people would have said fu!k off not trusting him
It's the same for me, that's how I started working on farms.

What a great crew. John is a silent hero getting through work. Safe harvest.
I was an Oscar when I was his age too, I helped out on a sheep and beef farm and loved it! Great that you’ve given him a shot 😁
Happy birthday belated Irene 😊
Absolutely brilliant blog Olly, sorry to hear how low the OSR was returning!! 😢 The rake / Fendt / bailer outfit looked fantastic! 😊 Morgan’s spike was certainly worth all the effort he put into designing and building it, cool. 👍 lovely seeing the combine doing its thing ❤

Such a shame about the poor yield from the OSR ☹️ That was a fabulous sunset shot over the field at the end of the video 🌅
Hi Olly great video it looks like wet weather next week!? 75%spike looks good will. IT last? the tractor combo looks good, all the best to all,
Great to see Oscar with you now ! Reminds me of myself back in the seventies helping out at my local farm looking after the grain dryer in the school summer holidays! Great times .
The OSR done in a day - that says a lot about the year Olly.
Great video Olly and the rake worked great and there’s a end cap still needs welding on the second one up on the passenger side before it gets touched up but looks great 👍👍
Well done Rob with multi tasking

On the combine you need to put “your bread starts here “
Could put answer as a percentage on the back of the combine Olly
Loving all the new kit and also great to see Oscar getting a chance to drive the combine. Do you have a name for ‘Morgan’s Spike’ btw or did I miss that. Harvest is always the highlight of the year. Wishing you decent weather and decent yields.
