Now I must say that young Morgan is a man of many talents and obviously not a bit afraid to get his hands dirty a man really worth having around fair play to him seems to be abel to turn his hands to anything
Is there anything that morgan cant do ?. He is just full on with every job you chuck at him and he does it perfectly. Youve got a great worker there. Hopefully now you will have some dryer land to work on. Great video 😊
I know I have said this before but if they dredged the rivers let farmers drain and dredge there ditches and the council cleaned all gullies it would help with the rain fall and save millions in flood defence building and also millions in insurance claims for flood damage. Keep up the good work and great video.
now you are equipped with GPS, are you going to log position/depths of new drains, so in years to come there will be guessing which and where drains are blocked
well done on that water work, 1 days work and you hae acheied so much, what if the govrment and councils had teams doin gthis again? keep up the good work
95% today just had a weeks holiday to recharge and despite the ongoing longterm problem I have I feel great. Morgan is a very talented young fella to have around certainly a keeper, wonderful to see your dad in shot smiling and keeping the old skills alive with his divining rods and it seems the draining gods were smiling on your day an excellent video all round
Briliant to see the real side of farming in the UK. It's not all sunny days on tractors. Morgan is a credit to the farm and you all do amazingly well considering what mother nature and the government throw in your way. Keep up the great work everyone!
Health and safety has gone mad but Olly, surprised you entered that manhole! Google the dangers of your actions, familiarise yourself with the events of the four deaths during the construction of Carsington Water, Derbyshire in 1983. Always enjoy your daily content, long may it continue, just something to consider.
Absolutely love drainage jobs , there's nothing more satisfying than clearing floods. As for the use of dowsing rods , never believed it until I was working with a Severn Trent dig team looking for a water main , and they followed it all the way up the road 👍
I love seeing water going down a drain nothing more satisfying Having all the equipment like you have is great when you want to do jobs like draining your trencher is ideal for small drainage jobs it mean you can just decide to do and next. Thing it’s done .You can’t farm water logged. Fields It’s a good job you found that manhole ideal for tapping drains into I tell you what Olly hasn’t Morgan turned out to be a great asset to your Farm he’s a right good worker which is what you want feeling 95% today I think it’s the weather being a lot better that makes you feel better great video Olly
You were right first time Olly, it’s a double barrelled surname, pronounced Mck-ken-zie, then the second part is Edwards. Like many with a double barrelled name I wish I had a £ for every time someone got it wrong. To be fair it’s better than last year, I think only the Edwards part made it on 😂 No worries 😉 it must be tricky to try and get everyone’s name right. Great job with the drainage, I hope it makes things a bit more manageable in that field. You need to send the local highways department a bill for your services unblocking their drain 😂
A bolt is partly threaded with a shank. A set screw is threaded the whole way to the head. That is why they are called "shear Bolts" and not " shear set screws"
Hi Olly great video today always like the draining jobs, as you say something really satisfying about getting them working, great idea to add the gift aid.
To my mind what this does show is as is often said “Farmers are part of the solution” when it comes to environmental issues such as flooding and helping to create healthier environmental conditions. You just require huge investment to do these simplest of tasks at a larger scale. Imagine what great things you would deliver for the general public if the “powers that be” were only to start listening to you folks. Best wishes, Tony.
Good work on the drainage oily and team, another yellow rain warning tonight in irl 7pm to 7am tomorrow, it's never ending, your field is ready for it,best of luck from irl
yes any one can do it..........2 pieces of stiff wire bent to a L shape about 18 inches long held loosely in each hand at chest height pointing straight ahead then when you walk over a drain or water pipe the wires will cross over each other
A very good video Ollie, you have a good team just watching you all work so well is so satisfying . A good job done with the drainage, it is so good to see you getting rid of that water. 75% Today
Always wondered about the 6 meters from water courses for spraying, yet roundup is recomended to be sprayed on water to control lily pads and it contains glyphosate 🤔
Good to see the water disappear down the drain shame you missed Morgan falling over 😂 have you seen Tom's Brook Farm video today nice new case rowtrack
One of those jobs that’s satisfying when You see what Your trying to do working !! Can’t wait to see what Morgan was ripping into, maybe the cause of that flood ?
Great video as always. It looks like your blades on your trencher are getting very worn down and its starting to pinch the pipe box that could be why Morgan was struggling to move forward. I reckon if you replaced the cutters it would drive forward ok once your past the hard lump. 85%
I don`t have a pair anymore otherwise I would have sent Morgan a pair of the wellingtons they used to issue us at Dorset County Council. Not only did they have full internal steel toecaps and insoles, but they were externally ribbed from the toecap to the top, same from the heel and they also had round ribbed ankle protectors. You could barely walk in mud of any depth, running on a firm surface was a challenge but if did manage to run at speed you had difficulty in stopping! They were intended for the road repair gangs but we were expected to use them for when were marking out football pitches!
Great video Olly. It seems like all my favourite farming vlogs are busy with drainage works at the moment, no surprise that you are all taking advantage of a reasonably dryish spell to get on the land where you can and do what you can.👌. Water like electricity will Always take the path of least resistance so that was a bit of a "Brucie Bonus" you finding that main drain you could cut into. That must have saved you both time and money trenching in more drains than you needed to do so a *Win is a Win* I just hope that all your efforts are not scuppered further along the line / drain (Pardon the pun) by the likes of the Highways or the Environment Agency not holding up on their commitments🤔. 90% today (Dad's had a good one)👍.
Interesting how dry that land is underneath where you are draining. Guessing you can’t put the draining machine on the quad track if it dies t go slow enough 🤷♂️
Hi Olly, when I saw the QuadTrac I thought that was a waste of money. Seeing how it performed in the field with the cultivator and how fuel efficient it is doing what it does, I was wrong, what a piece of kit. My question is what else are you going to use it for? I thought it could bale hay with a trailer behind it to collect and stack at the same time but without a PTO it cannot do that, being so big and with the articulated steering pulling a trailer for the sake of pulling a trailer does not really work, I am genuinely interested what else you will do with it.
If I might suggest, try and do an "as built" map of the drainage system. Just think how much time that might have saved you if they'd done one when the drainage system was built. 115% today because we think we may have discovered that I've been overmedicated with anti-hypertensive drugs. Also 2 yellow cars and one orange one. I started this because I thought most cars around here were black, white or some sort of grey! Gift aid - Why not? If you don't the government will only waste the money.
More drainage better fields. Have had arguments with people about fert in waterways the farmer always get blamed they dont think of the 25kilos being put on table size area of lawn
Great video of you draining, its a fair machine that puts the trench and pipe in. Going Aldi shopping tomorrow for rice pudding it my mums favourite. Have you a link to the fancy rachet strap please Olly?
Just a thought! when you dig out the trench with the digger would it be a good idea to put a Tee in and put pipe several meters into the water hole? 85%
i've just heard on the news your local town has just flooded out.......a sudden gush of brown water has appeared from somewhere and flooded the town .........whoops......only joking😂😂
Now I must say that young Morgan is a man of many talents and obviously not a bit afraid to get his hands dirty a man really worth having around fair play to him seems to be abel to turn his hands to anything
Beware of the silent killer in manholes Olly 👍
Is there anything that morgan cant do ?.

In your town but likely not all the way down river, unless they made it into danube or amazon 😂
I think the Pembertons need to borrow this Olly , not much drainage over there 😉
now you are equipped with GPS, are you going to log position/depths of new drains, so in years to come there will be guessing which and where drains are blocked
I hope the EA are watching this… just goes to show ditching and clear drain stop flooding…. Well done Oli

Great having you back on the land. Found it really interesting learning about how you manage your drainage.
Briliant to see the real side of farming in the UK. It's not all sunny days on tractors. Morgan is a credit to the farm and you all do amazingly well considering what mother nature and the government throw in your way. Keep up the great work everyone!
great video as always. dull, damp and miserable in norfolk. too wet for draining here.
So mad how I been watching you 4 years ! Time is flying

Hi Olly great video today always like the draining jobs, as you say something really satisfying about getting them working, great idea to add the gift aid.
Great video Olly that drain is going to make a huge difference especially if you can connect them to the clay tiles 👏👏👍👍
To my mind what this does show is as is often said “Farmers are part of the solution” when it comes to environmental issues such as flooding and helping to create healthier environmental conditions. Disappointed with your boys not getting the 1455xl out to play 😂
Divining rids work well and I always use them 👌
I always enjoy making a "just giving" donation knowing it's costing the government.
Crikey. I remember day 724 and you doing the same with the 724 😂
First tractor I drove was a 1056xl, lived in that thing in the summer and never let me down once
Good work on the drainage oily and team, another yellow rain warning tonight in irl 7pm to 7am tomorrow, it's never ending, your field is ready for it,best of luck from irl

Evening just watched your vlog very interesting 👍 😊 nice
At my sailing club we had a boggy area beside the carpark couple of years ago we put a French drain in and it worked a treat.
You should be growing rice in them fields instead of wheat and barley😀
Very interesting video Olly you and the team can turn your hands to anything it took me back 30 year's when I worked on drainage 😀😀😀30%
I used to love digging ditches to drain my ponies fields, it is so satisfying, maybe Morgan needs some waders lol. Great video Olly

Always bemuses me when people combine bagels and bacon.
Always wondered about the 6 meters from water courses for spraying, yet roundup is recomended to be sprayed on water to control lily pads and it contains glyphosate 🤔

Great job guys!
Interesting how dry that land is underneath where you are draining. Guessing you can’t put the draining machine on the quad track if it dies t go slow enough 🤷♂️
Good evening Olly 😊
Quiz question: is it a block heater because Fendt is German and gets cold there. Non farming background if you even survey your viewers
A draining machine you just pull thru the ground putting the pipe in with the big case quicker than the one you have
