I think Chris is absolutely spot on, you do undersell yourselves. You’ve created a phenomenal whisky community, so welcoming, informative and utterly fucking ridiculous at points, but it’s an absolute blast being a part of it. But somewhat expensive as you keep showing us great whisky. 🤣 Keep up the good work.

ALISTAIR!!! Absolutely banging out the content, two episodes in two days. Have to say I'm with Ian on adding water. I also got that Berry's Craigellachie off the back of that episode, I think a lot of people did. Worth a trip to their new spirit shop if you haven't been, when I popped in they had some cool own selection stuff in they had got in for the opening that you can't get online - picked up an Berry's Ardnamurchan.

One note on the infrequent flyers: they generally double up the cask on the label, but I've always believed both to reference the finishing barrel. They list out the Cask Type and the Style on most of their bottles, which seems a bit duplicative as it's usually something like: Pedro Jimenez Hogshead, Pedro Jimenez Finish.
I have a Inchgower that's Pedro Jimenez Punchean and Pedro Jimenez Finish, my assumption was it was likely a bourbon barrel before the finish. While I don't have it, I know there's a 35 year old Invergordon that's a 'Dark Rum Barrel' and a 'Dark Rum Finish' -- I'm assuming that was not started in a Rum Barrel since 1988.
That being said, it's a great brand, and ALISTAIR would be fantastic :-).

That’s one of the best episodes had a bit of everything Jason is bang on the money 😂, Pierre’s work is amazing . I visited Tomatin recently and had some nice drams the peated Cu Bocan is nice . We had an infrequent flyers tasting recently and all the drams were excellent, I get Ian’s point on the cask finish and I’d say quite a lot of IFF can be leaning towards cask dominated . Btw I used such small 2 liter casks quite a bit and I can tell you from experience that you can season it for ex. with Port for a month or even a bit longer but when you then put the whisky into the cask for finishing it will only take 1- 3 days :-)
