you asked about our favorite Whisky...
i mean thats a tough one, i dont think i can bring it down to one particular whisky but for me its defenitly the amazing stuff that comes out off Springbank Distillery and also Kilkerran!!
i recently had the luck to be in Campbeltown during the malts festival and maaaaaan.. I GOT PLEASED
i tried like four differnet port maturations, two longrow and two Kilkerrans and i fkn love all of them.
Another great thing about springbank is that the age of the Bottles absolutly doesn´t matter because of the quality of their liquid and the cask policy. I had a 5Y Longrow pinot Noir straight from the cask, a 7Y SB local Barley which will be released in 2024 and a 7Y SB (3Y Bourbon,4Y Manzanilla) and they ALL were stunning!!

Port Charlotte is that one expression that always hits just so, so right. I don't smoke, but I'd consider a cigarette after a glass of Port Charlotte.
I don't really collect whisky (it's for drinking, not hoarding), but I do collect the Cask Exploration series... and future me will thank past me when I crack them all.

Nice to see the main man Jayac on the pod. Had my first Port Charlotte at the Whisky Event - a 21 year old PC from Vintage Bottlers in a rum cask, to date one of only two rum casks I have enjoyed. Great episode as always even if I have to hear even more of Jayac.

I don't know a thing about Bruichladdich (except what I read) and only tried 3 varieties so this was educational for me.
    Nice one boys.
Nice to see your man on there as well and more importantly what's with the sunglasses indoors?
Few heavy nights Jake, bit tender?

Ledaig is my favourite but I've recently feel in love with Port Charlotte, id highly recommended the little brown dog 18 year old port charlotte , stunning dram with an amazing story behind the cask . Haven't tried any of the valinch bottles yet . Good to hear your releasing another port charlotte this year I'll def be grabbing one , always on the lookout for your Romanne PC popping up at auction .

Bruh, that Port Charlotte in the thumbnail is thicc af.
Amazing episode as always, I loved the insights of the valinch bottlings. They're incredibly hard to get so I'm living vicariously through you guys. I have opened the PC 2013 Islay barley, which is fantastic. I had that on Friday night with a mate around a backyard fire, whilst we were battered with heavy rain; such a vibe. I have a few of MRCs, OLCs, PACs, a laddie valinch and a few more, but they're not cracked.
I'm keen to watch the slappin' episode with Jeff 😂

After this ep. I definitely need to try Port Charlotte as I have never tried it! I have the same feelings about Bruichladdich, the Classic Laddie is not my jam.

Hi gents. I love "Port Charlotte". A couple of years ago bought at distillery - SYC:02 2009 (the distillery valinch) 500ml/61.6% 2nd fill syrah hogshead 11y.o. A SUPERB dram! Cheers!

Mwahahahaha, wagwan mandem, even more funny wagwan to a pirate. A new age, modernist pirate greeting. Sure beats the sh!t out of aaarrrrrrgggghhhh me mateys.
Yet another love for another episode.
During my early years in whisky I was buying anything I could find on offer. 2 of these purchases were the standard Laphroaig 10 and the Lore. I Tried the 10 first and it repulsed me enough to leave the lore on the shelf unopened for a few years until I was brave enough to try. There was my eureka moment, like the pringles, once I poppped I couldn't stop. Since then I have tried many peaty whiskies but never yet ventured in to PC. Standby, the journey is about to begin and I think I will start with the readily available PC10.
Slàinte Mhath my friends and thank you.

Did not know PC was mainland peat… will give this a chance now knowing that as I’m not a huge fan of Islay peat.

Absolutely with you Jake on how good PC is. Best represented brand in my stash. Personally sherry cask PC is my thing and some of those early valinch cask exploration bottlings are just blinding. BBQ meat, earth, dirt, sweet peat OMG! Thanks so much for this, been waiting for you to explore PC with us. Will definitely have to keep an eye out for your bottling. Cheers.

@@jimmyjazz4605 yeah it was a stunner. My favourite was the Ralfy bottling PC Meteorite. If you ever see it which is rare now, get it. Absolutely blew me away. The bottle that made me realise truly great whiskies were out there and possibly within my grasp. Yeah I was lucky to find it but read a review on whiskyfun early one morning and the shop were still selling it. Showed me also research and reading reviews is key. Still looki;g for another as only got quarter of the bottle left.

i don't like port charlotte (not into heavy dirty peat)
starting to like talisker and got an lagavulin distillers edition 2003 that's very nice.
Peat and sweet is a good combination.
mayby later in my whisky journey , i can appriciate drams like port charlotte.
    but again nice episode gents

If you were to buy 1 distillery exclusive from islay
Would it be pc or kilchoman ?
Which ones are more genuinely priced ?

Likely hard to find but I need to recommend the Port Charlotte 2005 RIC:02, 17 years, Rioja, and sitting at a cool 50.1%. I managed to pick up a bottle but would have been happier if I had a half dozen.

Can’t agree more. PC 10 got me properly on the peat train. That bottle got decimated in no time. Just back from Islay with a PLC02 Valinch. It’s great stuff. 🥹

Great episode. I share your weakness for Port Charlotte Jake! My favourite to date is probably a Dramfool 2004 18yo Single Cask from a 1st Fill Oloroso Hogshead. Beyond dirty. Absolute. Glorious. Filth.
