I was excited to hear that Ryobi was coming with a new 18v Ryobi Patio Cleaner. The new Patio Cleaner with the wire brush was awesome, but this one... not so much.

The black brush is for wooden decking, you need the orange brush for slabs.
I've seen this product on another video by someone who was NOT a ryobi fan and they loved it! Their one had three different brushes that you could switch out. I think your problem is you were using the wrong brush.
I love mine I used the orange brush attachment My complaint is that it kicks all the dirt onto you . And it works well and all the gross stuff it is cleaning is off the wooden deck and on me!
I have mainly ryobi tools and your absolutely right not everything they make works. But its affordable and they have a broad range of tools that tool. Im on ryobi 18v and milwaukee 12v platform. If you get them on sale. You get a good deal. That's why I like unbiased reviewers. You give honest reviews and that's what matters
Yo TRZ! The manual for that tool says you must wear sleeves to aquire best results.
Hahahaha, well I'm screwed hahahahaha 😅🤣
I flipped it and it completely changed how good it was. rotating away from the person doesn't work but simply rotating it makes it so you have to apply pressure to move forward and it just seems like that's the way it was meant to be. anyone who has one should try this!
Screw them haters. I use every battery platform you mentioned in this video. I appreciate the review. We have wooden decks on the front and back of the house. I would have bought that tool for the job. Thanks for doing the work and getting out honest reviews.
Thanks for the comment TJ👊👊
That tool is good for carpet cleaning. When you shampooing your carpet and get spots allover the place, soak it use the that tool and then extract the stain. Well it's all depends on what kind stain and how bad it is but it helps big Time. This is how I found this tool useful.
Interesting , it does have it's purpose,
You can get deferent brushes for that tool they don't have a metal brush YET but there is a wood brush available in some places and more may be coming to North America
In Europe there are multiple brushes available now, including a metal brush. I bet that does the job great. The universal and wood brush was a godsend when it came to removing dirt from a deck that pressure washing was unable to remove.
@@senseoftouch1 Im interested in this tool exactly for my IPE wooden deck which must be scrubbed with a liquid acid-based cleaning agent before re-oiling. Can the regular brush be used or must you get the wood brush and why ? Thanks for your answer .. looking forward to it
@@alanwonder504 I used the generic brush that comes with the tool to scrub a pressure treated deck with some water and kärcher deck cleaner. It works fine, but you have to be a bit careful not to damage the wood since the brush is quite stiff.
Tried it like you said as a back hair scratcher, wife loved it!!!
Don’t think it was designed for exterior use, just sayin’
Love TRZ
Hahaha, awesome!
I think Ryobi designed this for getting leaves and large dirt off your sidewalks or decks. These brushes can sometimes work great for light snow removal like the makita brush. I think you are definitely right it does not have the power or the correct brush head for deep cleaning.
Yeah I hear ha, but still wouldn't work that well for those applications either I don't think 🤔
4:00 to spit out backwards whyy
You're honest, that is most important when reviewing tools! Yeah, I noticed that you have a thing for Ryobi tools...at least you are sure to let the viewers know if they are good, bad or just plain ugly! Maybe Ryobi needs to slow down and focus more on quality instead of quantity!
Idk, I kinda think ryobi has found its niche. They are not trying to be the best at anything. Its always been about bang for the buck and variety with ryobi.
I've got a 5 and a half inch Ryobi 18 volt circ saw and drill combo and the 10 inch chainsaw all bought in 2010 and used hard in sub par conditions and weather of all kinds and they won me over years ago. Tough as nails. I swear by Ryobi and Makita battery platforms. They are the bees knees.
Saw it half price today but decided on watching a rrview first. you just saved me 100 bucks.
Bummer, I was thinking of buying this for use on my wood deck! Thanks for the review! You just saved me some cash!
Interestingly tools and stuff did a video on this tool 6 months ago, and was very approving of the tool for scrubbing chicken droppings and working on his deck
I guess chicken droppings would be 👌
I have seen your video and that tool did à really good job.
As a Ryobi Fan Boy, thank you for your honesty. I’ll think about getting that wire brush one.
Used the softer brush on our driveway with water and dawn detergent. Worked great!
From Brooklyn you are 100% right if they work on those brushes and would definitely be on some. Drink a lot of water
Because it's meant to be used on wooden decks, with plenty of water... It's not meant for stone or concrete.
Its not heavy enough I bet. Theres no weight to actually let the bristles dig in. Would you give it another chance with some force behind it
Got the electric Ryobi power washer think it's 1600 PSI and for $35 Home Depot had the attachment to clean the concrete what that Circle cleaner which does a great job and if I really have to clean something I'll just break out the Big Daddy DeWalt gas power washer just got to make sure you don't hold it too close because that would take some paint off your car and could destroy a lot of other things. Hope you had a great Father's Day talk to you later brother😎🇺🇸👍
Disappointing when it’s MOIST and still doesn’t get the job done 🤷♂️
Haha, I missed the perfect opportunity there brother 🤣
Hi could you do a review with the wood brush on decking, think this is what most people would buy it for using a deck cleaning solution and using the brush to do the scrubbing
Very cool vid. Appreciate the honesty a ton. A good ole wire brush would definitely be better than that cheap plastic looking junk.
I agree brother
maybe a hand held version of this might be better ... car rims and bumpers /grills/aluminum door and window frames ??
Brilliant presentation very watchable! Great sense of humour
Looks like a large push broom is faster for dirt and flooded patio water remover @ToolReviewZone
So glad I saw your review. Years ago someone painted my basement floor green. I saw this brush and thought....this is perfect to scrub that paint off!! I am already a Ryobi owner so it seemed a no brainer. I will hold off buying this until they improve the attachment. Thanks.
Trz if you don't mind please do a follow up video of that tool cleaning brush with the 3 new heads they have out for it, plus there is nylon brush for the sidewalk brick grout cleaning tool.
I really want it it would be super useful for carpet cleaning as an agitator. Do they make green brushes for it? I'll take it if you don't want it! 😜😜
thank you for saving my money ! appreciate it
I’m so glad I watched this before getting it
I'm not sure I would have bought that anyway, but now I want to do stuff with bricks so I'll have an excuse to buy the patio cleaner. Generally speaking, I'm in deep with Ryobi, and I have no complaints. If I were a contractor, I might be saying something else, but as a diy homeowner, I've been happy so far.
What's up Betty! Thanks for another awesome comment 👊👊👊
Swing and a miss --happens to every manufacturer... Nice honest video so, Thanks!
Yep, no big deal, happens to them all Mix👊
I've got one too, I'm hoping to find it useful for something one day - but that probably won't be scrubbing anything.
I think that thing might work in the inside of pools or maybe really dirty bath tubs??? But the rest of the stuff you were trying to do with it, would be done way quicker and easier with a pressure washer. Including cleaning the pavers! Plus, if you clean the pavers like that, then replace the sand in the joints with polymeric paver sand, you won’t have to worry about weeds and moss again!!!
Eagerly awaiting the die grinder but wish they would come out with a straight shaft one as well
We have tan tile with tan grout on the floor for a lot of my house. The grout in the kitchen gets nasty. We have had it professionally cleaned and I have spent many hours using a very stiff brush. When I saw this I thought it might work. Many reviews said it works better with cleaners so I used hot soapy water and scrubbed away. I'm not going to say it wasn't powerful enough, but I feel it wasn't heavy enough. I had to put a lot of downward pressure on the machine to get it to work. End of the day it did a good job, but with a ton of effort on my part. It was like doing an ab workout the entire time. I was trying to figure out how to strap 20 weights on to it. For the cost, it was returned.
From the pictures it appears that the brush tool is mainly for decking. Some have said the patio scraper leaves scratch marks on the brickwork.
Use it to shine your shoes
Will it buff your shoes??? I hate it when a tool doesn’t preform! You just saved me some $$$ Thanks
Thanks for the info. It looks like you definitely stepped up your lighting and Camera game. Definitely a plus audio and video quality brother!
No wonder he dislikes it. He is not us the tool for its intended purpose. Maybe try removing road silt from a street curb. That would work.
Great review TRZ and i think the same ryobi might be cheap but they have some great tools even tho im a ridgid fan 🔥🛠💪🏻
Agreed ryobi is really really good for what it costs and they have the largest variety of tools for sure. I personally use ridgid, but mostly for the lifetime warranty that some of their tools have. I do think that they are a little better than ryobi, but not enough so to be worth the price difference, UNLESS you use the hell out of them and break them all the time like I do lol. Plus once ridgid no longer sells your model, youll get upgraded to the next model for free once yours breaks. It probably won't be the newest model but it will still be newer than whatever you broke. Kinda hard to beat that haha.
Ya man. Ryobi table saw's motors caught on fire for me 3 times. After the 3rd return I got one with a 100.00 Amazon gift card. Been using it for about 2 years. I also still have the very first Skill Saw, Sawzall, Drill, and worklight kit when they first came out, still works. All of it. Just had to get new batteries. Now I have so many Ryobi 18v batteries I gave away the little 1/2 size ones. I hate them... LOL.
One video I saw it used on was in Australia during a drought where the weren’t allowed to use pressure washer
I like some of the tools, but I can’t stand the Ryobi batteries. I went with the Hart 2g sprayer and fogger.
I use it for minor snow removal instead. Great for that🙂
Great idea 💡
I think Ryobi do sell a full wire wheel brush to go with this now RAC824
The only power tool I own by Ryobi is the drain gun, cleaner/snake $70... (Dewalt drain gun $280)... I got the “tool only” option because I have a Dewalt platform... so I got a Dewalt to Ryobi battery adapter... I felt no need to buy a Ryobi battery & charger just for one tool that would get used (maybe) once a year... I might not use it often, but it’s sure nice to have when you need it.
I got my tank top delivered today and it IS naaaas like.
That's Awesome Shawn!!!!! Thanks so much for the support brother, it really means a lot 👊👊👊
5:11 I do have the Ryobi clamp fan blowing on me right now
Love your honesty! Looks like a tool I'll be seeing on the Direct Tools Factory Outlet in the "Blemished Tool" area. HA!
Hahaha 👊, very possible
But you can buy a wire attachment brush for it if that’s what you prefer
probably be better for carpet washing
The problem with their power scrubber line is that their scrubbing brushes sucks..
if you can manage to strap a good old green scrubbie on there it works better..
This was a great video. I was trying to decide between the two tools and I had the same concerns. You totally answered the questions I had about the products. I want it to use it to get rid of weeds.
i have it or got it when it came out and i agree
Is it me or are they the same basic tool except one has an indirect drive axle for the patio brush and the other one directly drives a wire wheel?
🏃Put a splash tray in the toilet and use the brush as a rearend cleaner💩 hope that helps 🙏🏻 🙈
What up clint Broski @ToolReviewZone
What's up Antonio!!!!
@@ToolReviewZone chillin like a villain 😎
What would it be like to buff up artificial grass??
That might works 💪
Liked your frank opinion with a humorous spin on it. (pun intended)
Yo Clint, keep it in case we have another toilet paper shortage😎😂😎😂😎
Omg 🤣🤣🤣👊
As far as I know this tool is not available in the US. I am wondering how did you get your hands on it?
Chase the RYOBI stackable Storage and wall mount concepts... I have not bought the Milwaukee pack out awaiting RYOBI's version, heck they are the same company...
It would be good for cleaning/ spray painting roofs around trees haha. Sounds particular, but one you paint prime a tin or concrete tile roof sometimes the wi d blows and puts tree debris on the tacking off paint, it sticks a little, and this would be subtle enough to get it off and paint the two semi/ gloss coats with a smooth finish as sometimes your looking at the roof sheen and it ruins the look if there's debris in a nice mew paint job
I think it might be gentle enough that it could be good for knocking moss off your roof? I notice Ryobi also has a brush head that is made out of something else.
It looks to me like it's too light to scrub with but , the bristles are too short to be an effective broom. Make it heavier to use as a scrub brush. Maybe it would work for washing horses, really. Cleaning your dirty work boots. Stranded on a dessert island you could use it to write SOS messages in the sand, having high hopes that The Google Earth satellite will photograph your location and someone who cares will know that You, might be the person that wrote the message (with that Ryobi brush thingy) in the sand. Wouldn't that be neat.
Haha, SOS , that funny. I'll now be bringing this with me on all future flights just to be safe 🤣
Is it good for cleaning ceiling or floor filter ducts?
I’m still concerned about those cabinets. 😡🤬
Both of these tools are toys compared to what they are trying mimic.
First the brush. Take a look at the Echo PAS attachment or Shindaiwa powerbroom set ups. That's what the real tool looks like. There are two versions, the brush with bristles and one that's a rubber paddle to move stones and debris out of grass. Both work well.
Second, the wire wheel. There's a wire wheel that replaces the edger blade on a stick edger. That's bigger, more powerful, and far far cheaper if you already own an edger. Just swap it in for the blade.
Third, the idea of a big wire brush, Shindaiwa used to have one, maybe still does. It was kit for their powerbroom. checking their website they only seem to have the nylon option now. Like the nylon version of a wire wheel.
I'm all for red stuff generally. Although I had to get the Ryobi misting bucket fan. Holy Mc snappers you should do a review of that thing if you haven't yet. It's like being at a water park while your working. Incredible.
I actually seen it today and was going to grab one. This comment may have just convinced me 👊
If I was out in the field building homes not sure if it would be good for much except break, but in the prefab wall shop it's wicked. I was at the saw for a few hours today cutting plates with it blasting me on my back in plus 30c and I honestly want one for my backyard when I'm grilling now. Even if I drop it at the end of my table when I start building my walls and only get to pass threw it every minute or so. Still worth it.
I also think they may have discontinued it here in Canada. They got some new one with hoses that you string about. I may try to get a second one here if I can find one in stock. The home Depot horror story I went threw trying to get this one was almost too much, I may have to brave it again though.
Was thinking of buying one, but I guess it is very disappointing. How about using it with the Ryobi RAC824 metalic brush? did you try?
spray sodium hypoclorite 15% then use that scruubber
You should get CRB that actually works.
I think this patio brush was more ment for pushing lots of water off a sidewalk or patio or used for brushing tons of dirt off a patio more like a broom Clint @ToolReviewZone
Would this brush the ugly winter black sand off my grass onto street? It's some black crap from the power plant I think. I use a vacuum and it takes forever.
I do like the RYOBI tools I have but have you contacted them about the bristles and maybe they could come up with a metal version?
Smeeesh that like button. 👀👉🏽 👍🏽
I tried calling, but haven't heard anything back brother... oh and thanks for the SMEEESH Jason!
I think I will not be getting none of those items and don't have Ryobi fan!! I HAVE RIDGID FANS!!! LOL!!! Ridgid Ron I do have Ryobi pole saw, buffer and glue gun.
Haha, I love that damn glue gun Ron 👊
Just received to try out, was on the fence myself until I found they make extra brushes for decks and even artificial grass. So I am waiting on those brushes before I totally make up my mind. But do agree the brush included has no function, throws dirt at you and will not clean anything yet. I am a huge Ryobi guy with over 180 tools and accessories, so far this is the first tool I am at odds with.
How did it go with the other bushes? Any better?
Also curious of the other brushes.. on my way to the Depot now
This is going to sound crazy; but, do you think it would be good at cleaning solar panels? Being that they are glass; but, get a little mildew and moss on them from time to time. Trying to find a good way to clean them.
It's for weeds mainly.
👍👍👍
You ain't wrong, that's what I think.
Haha, thanks Meat 🍖
@@ToolReviewZone You are the man!
Nice video! You convinced me that I need one LOL. I think it's just a broom and you asked for too much.. I have lots of tiny fruits from a street tree and people step on them and create a mess. I sweep them but this tool could be a perfect alternative. Hope the price come out soon!
Hope it works for you👊
I found a great use for it though! My damn teeth are whiter than ever now! Still can't find the rest of my lips though. They kinda got ripped off. But hey, can't hate those pearly whites! 😅😅😅
Hahaha👊🤣
It should have softer brushes
Why Ryobi Why
🤣
Holie Chit!!! $175 Bare Tool and $200 with 2.0 battery and charger. Plus I'm in Arizona and have absolutely no use for this thing (even if it did work well) 🤦
This look more like it would be used to get moss from tarmac and not dirt/algae from concrete. But if it was me I'd use it as a carpet cleaner after pre treating to agitate it.
Love your videos, no basis !
Thanks Steve!!!
Yeah I’m super disappointed on this one, too, but for some reason my wife refuses to get rid of the damm thing.
She’s always using it when I’m not home yet don’t see anything cleaned when I return. It’s still a mystery to me 🤔
Not Nass like 🤷🏻♂️
What about using it for a boat deck?
Thanks for the review. I'll pass on this tool.
Powered broom
Dude you have it all wrong. It's not a brush, it's a French tickler. The old lady said it is real nass like.
I've heard quite a bit of good about this tool from people. I've considered grabbing one to clean my deck. 🤔 I'm not intending on using it for scrubbing concrete though.
Let me know how you like it Winkle 👊
Ryobi, will have to come out with something even better to compensate for the poor performance, I think they will its upsetting to find out like this , that's why regardless of what tool what platform , I read the reviews , they're just not haters who post their reviews , that being said for any and all platforms , regardless of the company
I wonder if you could make a brush by stacking some wire wheels so they fit in the tool. Yeah, I know, buying a new tool for $175 should not need to be dyi modified.
I assume if Ryobi would come out with a cordless bench grinder it would be more successful and I would buy one. I just can’t get why Ryobi didn’t build one yet. As fair as I understand, it doesn’t exist cordless bench grinders because I was looking for one and I couldn’t find it.
