I can handle a bad season. But what worries me so much is that I do not trust this organizations desire to change, pivot, look in the mirror or even think hard enough to make a good decision. Our team historically seems to have trouble winning one score games. Especially since the Marvin and Zac eras. Would love a JAYS GOT STATS to verify how many or what % of our total wins have been by one score thru the years. Meaning am betting we have a higher percentage of our total wins by more than 2 scores than 1 score??
It didn't take GEORGE HALAS to figure out didn't have the DB depth to compete this year. Now with Turner down its gonna be even worse. This roster wasn't built to win and the xavien howard clown show only makes it more obvious.
I’m a Nebraska fan and I watch Cam Taylor Brit fabulous athlete struggles with the deep ball badly always has. I was shocked. He was that high of a draft pick. This is the kind of Taylor Britt I would expect.
Tobin is to blame for this roster specifically the defense. Unless we are up by 14 in the 1st half against the Steelers I think Browning should be playing.
Another loss that is almost identical to 6 of the 7 losses (the exception being the Eagles game). The problem is 75% defense, 15% placekicker and 10% offense. The problem with the defense is the plan they had - 1. expect CTB, Myles Murphy, Ossai, Turner II, etc to all blossom into solid defensive players. Nobody blossomed - and several of these guys took huge steps backward. 2. add to that a couple "good value" free agents - Rankins, Bell and Stone. Rankins has missed a bunch of playing time & Stone is about the lowest ranked safety in the NFL. Result: a really bottom tier defense. McPherson? I'd guess he's uncomfortable with the new snapper (who is not perfect like St Louis) and holder. Offense - they're great but not perfect - a couple missed deep balls and some really shaky pass protection.
Bengals have ruined Burrow/Chase for this season, and perhaps their careers. As a lifelong Bengals fan, I see a “Carson Palmer” situation happening all over again. I was too young at the time - but now completely understand the grievances against Blackburn/Browns and will def follow Burrow if he requests a trade. The teams with the biggest turnarounds this season have been the Chargers, Steelers, and Cardinals. All 3 of those teams have much lesser talent but FAR BETTER coaching and FO decision making. They don’t come out flat every game (have a strong floor), don’t piss off players in offseason w contract disputes, good team morale, play hard and respect the coaches, draft well, don’t stay complacent with guys who aren’t performing, etc. I could go on and on - we are a complete failure of an organization from top to bottom, the fact we didn’t make more moves at the trade deadline is complete BS and shows our lack of commitment to winning. We give up on a elite players like Bates, Reader, and soon to be Higgins, then assume we will replace them in draft or FA when (fact check: our scouting department is half the size of other teams). Just ask Andrew Whitworth who was a class act veteran pro bowler about how things ended with the Blackburn and his time as a Bengal. It’s disgusting what our ownership gets away with and the stupid fans keep buying tickets and feeding their pockets.
