    Nice vid Ranjit. I just got this router configured for Sprint Wifi (Wifi Connect) free (must use it for one year, then it is yours to keep). This is one incredible router and Sprint Wifi calls are excellent quality. Plug and play. If anyone is looking for a router, this one is one of the best out there.

    Are you back to using Mac again ? If yes, which mac? I am interested in switching to Mac and using Windows over Parellels for Visual Studio 2013.

    Since AC range/throughput is weak on most routers today, perhaps you can do a video using the RT68U and a repeater.

    Great review Ranjit.
    One thing I am curious about...Can we attach a printer to one of the usb ports? The review or the specs does not say anything about print server support.

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  10 лет назад

      Yes you can attach printers to the USB port it says it has USB printer server support, but personally I did not try that. I would suggest check the Asus support to check the printers that are supported.

      It should - support.asus.com/Search/KDetail.aspx?SLanguage=en&no=DFF9A3E5-E115-9898-0933-D922CBBF1A2E&t=2 . The router seems to be running linux , and has support for tomato firmware.

    nice review but the price is too much, 15k?!?! do you think getting a 5ghz band is worth paying for for a normal user??
    and please suggest a good ASUS router for ~3k
    and also can you stream 720p or fullhd clips without any lag on 2.4 ghz/?

    Plz suggest me a router for browsing, streaming RUclips and normal daily tasks (internet only no lan gaming etc)
    My issue is I have a double storied house and as many routers i tried none gave me more than 2 signal bars on my cellphone or laptop.
    Any good suggestion of cheap and powerful router with great coverage under 100 dollars plz.
    Regards and thanks in advance.

    AIDisk speed for my present ASUS router is just 3Mb/sec. Is this any better ? If not it's useless as DLNA.

    Asus Routers have a tendency to crash as soon it's client count reaches 10 (dats including active and history of clients), I faced the same experience for RTN13U and another one of my friend. At that particular moment you just have nothing else to do but to cut power for 5 mins to the router and then again power it up. After certain point of time it gets really frustrating. I tried with there customer service, changing different firmware version but the problem persists. Can you please check the same so that I can upgrade my router to this one... On other thing I try to stream pure 3D blu-ray through WiFi network, does this stream seamlessly ? If not, can please suggest me a good router that supports this technology... Thanks i n advance ...

    Hi Ranjith nice video.. i just wanted to know how much Volts dose a normal Wi-Fi router consume...

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  10 лет назад

      Looks like you are confusing between volts and watts, a basic 2.4 Ghz WiFi router consumes between 2-3 watts, a dual-band router for example my Netgear WNDR3700 consumes around 5-6 watts.

    Really a master piece. I really like the features but Ranjit don't you think that 10 MBPS transfer rate is very less even for USB 2.0

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  10 лет назад

      You are mistaken its not 10-11 Mbps/sec but 10-11 MB/sec (Mega Bytes) that translates to around 90 Mbps/sec with most of the routers that have USB 2.0 port I tested even my Netgear I just get around 7-9 MB/sec note it's (MB/sec for Mbps multiply by 8) on some low end WiFi routers that had USB 2.0 interfaces I have even seen as low as 3-4 MB/sec.
      Yeah I was expecting about 18-20 MB/sec considering the price of this router but Asus has also release a new router called AC68U which has USB 3.0 port so would be interesting to see how fast it goes in terms of USB transfer.

    • @AdrenalineRiderIN
      @AdrenalineRiderIN 10 лет назад

      Oh my fault. I'm not mistaken just represented MB/sec as Mbps. I know the difference. I hope USB 3.0 should pump up the speed to 70 - 80 MB/sec

    Hello sir I m robin n I have game zone in my shop I have 8 ps3 for online gameing I just want to ask that I should use Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable for gud speed

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  10 лет назад

      I always stress wired connection is better than WiFi so if you can go wired go wired, coz WiFi can be affected due to various interference and at times cause latency issues that is bad for gaming so wired is the best way and I guess as you are in a commercial environment there might be a lot interference with WiFi and it might be difficult to isolate them.

    @geekyranjit can u suggest a wifi router ....i have three storey building and i want full coverage on all three floors ...

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  10 лет назад +1

      I don't think so any single WiFi router will provide complete adequate coverage for a 3 floor build, I would suggest go with one powerful WiFi router and then add a single repeater in the middle floor that way it would be able to cover the entire 3 floors, see my video regarding WiFi repeaters for more info Extend your WiFi range with WiFi repeater setup

    15000+ bucks, not a modem just a router (ADSL/Cable not supported, WAN port only), only good thing about it has great firmware interface so one does not need DD-WRT and maybe three antennae.

    Hi sir nice video, Sir i have watched all your different brands of wifi routers unboxing and reviews in past. I have a question in my mind but before asking if you see my question in youtube shit comment system then please answer. Sir my question is, Is there any Wifi router you reviewed on your channel who can give you a little more than your plan speed for example in 1mbps plan you normally get 100kbps download or upload speed, so is there any Wifi router that can give you around 130kbps upload or download speed. I know sir it's impossible but if you have the answer kindly give me an advice. And if this can't be possible then i have another question, Sir in flipkart most users comment bad about all Asus routers, so right now i am in a confusion which one is better Tp link or Asus routers as tp link Wifi routers got a respectable users comment on Flipkart.

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  10 лет назад +1

      For your first query no it is not possible, your ISP limits the internet speeds that you get so a router cannot increase that.
      I never had a issue with Asus routers many ppl don't like Asus routers coz they are a bit expensive and setting up some of the advance features is a bit tricky, I do not give a lot of regards to user comments on flipkart as many of them are fake comments, check amazon.com reviews for asus routers and you will notice it gets good reviews, I also had good experience with upto mid-range Tp-link WiFi routers did not test high end Tp-link routers yet.
      I personally would be going with a Asus router for my next router upgrade, only thing I don't like is the cost.

    • @LekhRaj87
      @LekhRaj87 10 лет назад

      Thanks Sir you covered all the things which i forgot to cover, really this has given me a shock that Flipkart comments are fake,since 5 years i am purchasing stuff only on the basis of Comments by the users. Thanks again sir i will be Checking today Amazon.com for Asus routers. And i was 100% sure that my 1st question will be rejected but nevertheless this time i consider 1st Amazon comments and do some research, then only i will consider to buy. Sir you motivated me this time to buy an Asus router but seeing the same router price on Flipkart which is 15000+ i am in a shock right now. Sir one more request which i forgot and i think most of the people are waiting since a month and that's the LG Nexus 5 full in depth review really waiting to see that video on your RUclips channel.

    • @geekyranjit
      @geekyranjit  10 лет назад

      cbrcoder I did not give it a try with DD-WRT coz the last Asus router I tested the N66U I recall I did not get good speeds with DD-WRT so I did not give a try with DDWRT for this one as the stock firmware provided most of the functionality you also get the Power TX setting with the stock firmware, I just did all my WiFi testing with the default setting though.
