Thank you for your reply Ranjit, I think I will wait a while, I am going to change my ISP next month and I have a Belkin I used before I shall use again for the mean time. Reading Amazon the Asus DSL-N55U gets mixed reviews where as the N66U gets rave reviews? I need one with a built in modem. I may wait even to see what Belkin launch next year at Cebit.

Would you say the TP-Link routers are better? I am interested in their new TD-W8970. I need a wireless router with built in adsl modem bu need the best wireless I can get, is it better to have a router with the external antennas?

Great review. Data driven presentation, and not too obsessed with 'features'. Well done. I'm happy to trade a bit of heat and power (related, of course) for range and throughput. To make an omelette, they say, you gotta break some eggs.

Hi Ranjit... Maybe I missed it but did you mention the fact that there is a MicroSDHC slot on the inside of the router. I installed a Transcend Class 10 card in mine. Use embedded storage to deploy Optware, as iJames93i Mentioned DD-WRT, or Tomato.. Asterisk, anything you can imagine. Also, regarding head issues.. This is a FANLESS router.. No moving parts to fail, If you live in a hot area, consider a Fan Mod or a cooler room. Hope this helps!

I do have one more doubt, will N300 (300mbps) single band routers be able to handle the fhd stream , or do I need the 5ghz band for that. Can you also suggest a router, streaming videos to my WD Live TV and PS3 is my main usage.

Hi Great review! I want to buy this but need to know if it will do what I want. I have 3 x Foscam IP cameras in the UK and 5 x Foscam Cameras in the Philippines. If I attach a 2.5 HDD to this can I have all those cameras send images via FTP to the HDD 24/7? If yes is it able to have each camera send to its own folder and can you access this images from an Ipad etc and allow family members abroad access them too? Thank you and I look forward to your response

Hi Ranjit, bought this router after seeing this review and wanted the best for my house! I have also configures it for only "N" and not using "QOS". I have connected couple of external HDD (3TB and 1TB) to stream my Videos to all devises, tablet, phone and Lappies, and I am on a 8mbps connection. I have two questions, how do I separate HD streaming to 5Ghz only, second my Skype disconnects, very frequently any idea. Thanx in advance.

Do you think Asus and TP-Link are the same company? As TP-Link's routers are starting to look very similar to Asus routers.

Great review Ranjit. I have this router with up to 19 wireless devices connected and it works flawlessly. It does get pretty hot but nothing to worry about as I have it in an air conditioned room. I live in Florida and it gets pretty hot here. This is the best router out at the moment.

Aussem9 Linksys has huge privacy issues.. basically they track your internet usage using their cloud ... so I would avoid it all costs.
