This video helped me so much. I recently went through cancer treatment and am now on medications for the rest of my life that make me sick most days. I have been struggling with feeling less of a whole person and how others now perceive me. I will be trying some of your suggestions to build my confidence and to learn to be okay with where I am at in my life right now. Thank you so much!!
Often times people may 'look' better (to others) than they feel inside. My mom was not afraid to kindly tell them that! ("I may look fine today but I am feeling weak inside; so I'll need to go lay down soon...") things like that. I think it helped her feel more confident as well. : )
As always you bring a new and welcoming perspective. Thank you for what you provide to the RUclips community. I would add that affirmations are also beneficial for building confidence. It changes your perception of yourself from negative to positive. At least they have for me.
Loved in confidence tip #3 the idea of what would you think of yourself if you met yourself for the first time. So helpful actually in seeing how far I’ve come in shedding a lot of the negative self talk that I used to drown myself in as a teenager and young adult.
This is AWESOME content I wish everyone would see! ⭐🏆🏆⭐ I have ADHD, intermittent depression, and childhood abuse knocking around in my head, so prioritizing counter-measures like these has been game-changing. I actually *like* myself now, 😃 and that makes *everything* easier. Doing resets throughout the day to process feelings & notice what I'm doing *right* really helps.
This is a wonderful video, Elin. You’re using your clinical psychology every week in these videos. I love the idea of coming up with a positive act every day. What a nice way to end the day and get ready for sleep. Thank you!
Isn't the feeling of insecurity caused by the paralysis of over self-analysis? Focusing upon others (and off of your self) can be a great way to lose yourself, and thus, your insecurities. One great way to focus on others is thru volunteer work. It's an awesome way to not only help others, but to get your focus off of yourself.
