Hi friends! Hope everyone gets to make this delicious cobbler. The recipe has 3/4 cup of sugar (150g) mixed in with the dry ingredients, but it acceidentally got cut out of the final video! Happy Baking!
I’m from the south, here’s a little tip. Wash and cut the peach in half like an avocado, scoop out the pit, and then use a large dinner spoon to scoop the fruit away from the skin. Flip the half-peach flat side down on cutting board to cut those perfect slices. Repeat with other half.
I would only make it when peaches are in season, not with peaches that have travelled hundreds of miles on a truck. That's why Grandma was smart enough to only make it when peaches are in season.
Hi John! My mom had the BEST Peach Cobbler recipe. Unfortunately, through a series of events, her most prized recipes were lost. She had a biscuit topping, with a sugar crackle glaze. She was so 'ole skool that she even "blanched" the peaches to remove the skin. Yours looks delish, and easier, too. All I would add is a dash of nutmeg and a splash of vanilla to the filling. I grew up in Louisiana and my grandma was a maid and cook. She made a peach cobbler and a blackberry cobbler every Summer. Her regular pie crust was on the bottom. A cripsy but thicker crust was on top. A ton of fruit in the middle. Delicious. I have never had anything like it again. There is a soul food place here in Atlanta that is close.
Oh yeah? Ina Fatten has a delectable Fresh Peach cake recipe I've been eyeing lately; looks perfect for fresh, end-of-summer Peaches! With a cup of coffee or tea, just perfect!
We have a peach tree that is giving us beautiful peaches this year, I was looking for a peach cobbler and found your video. I've made it twice now and it's a favorite! I mill my flour so I used 128g as a measurement for 1 cup flour from soft white wheat and added an extra tablespoon of milk for the liquid, the batter looks runny (freshly milled flour is more thirsty than bagged flour and needs time to absorb the liquid) but it bakes up nicely. Thank you for your wonderful videos!
Similar to what I grew up with, but we use an egg batter (like a thick pancake batter). It is a fluffier version, but excited to try this. The crisp crust will pair well with ice cream.
My peach trees are blooming. Can't wait for the peaches to try this cobbler! Edit: I was able to make 8 cobblers to share, just from 1 tree! They turned out AmAzing!
I grew up eating the old fashion Peach Cobbler with a pie crust and the dumplings and I find it to still be my favorite. It take a little longer to make but it is delicious. I have my grandmothers recipe so it is old.
Was literally thinking about baking a peach cobbler today after baking your apple cobbler recipe which was amazing! I’ve been blessed with incredible luck haha love your recipes :)
Hey John. Thanks for making this look so simple and delicious. I love peach cobbler but have always been intimidated to make it and rely on the genius of others. With your clear and concise directions I think I can become my own genius. Off to the store for peaches!
Just made this today, PHENOMENAL and will make for the rest of my days!! The 3/4 cup sugar mistakenly edited from the video that was supposed to be in the dry ingredients isn’t necessary. I knew it was left out and decided to leave it out anyway and it’s absolutely perfect. That extra sugar would make it too sweet.
Peachy dory results! The best peach cobbler I’ve ever made for my sweetheart-easy and delicious. I wanted to get a picture, but it was gone before I knew it. Thank you so much for sharing your family’s recipe. ¡Felicidades! María Lucía Gómez-Greenberg
That's 'ole skool. My mom did it that way. I think it just softened them, but made removing the skin easier. But you know what? That whole process is messier and more time consuming. Boiling, blanching, cooling, peeling, putting, and slicing.
Another great recipe! I've made this several times using canned peaches and apricots! The family and neighbors love it! They're blaming me for the extra pound(s) they've gained! lol
Very good video. I just made this. The plain peaches tasted so good, I ate like four slices before prep. Anyway, the final product, I have to say, was NOT sweet enough. Then I came back to this video to make sure I did not miss anything, and sure enough as he stated in the pinned comment, he did not tell us to put in the 3/4 cup of sugar in the dry mix! Good to know I am not crazy. I will make it again. I still enjoyed it, especially with the ice cream. So simple and easy to make.
Made this & used caned peaches, it came out the same just as he said, it was not overly sweet, it was refreshing & a fine dessert! Would definitely do this one again!
Growing up, we didn't eat much fruity dessert at home. Now that I'm all grown up, I do bake fruit dessert for myself and my hubby, but I'm more of a crumble kinda girl. I like to make blue berry crumble in summer, but now that peach season is upon us, I'm definitely making peach crumble! I'll be sure to try this recipe too, as I've never had cobbler before. Oh! And you are right, peach and cinnamon are a perfect match! :D
The cobbler looks too dry. It needs the juice from the peaches to help make it moist. Do not throw away the syrup from your canned peaches, folks. When using fresh peaches, you need to make a syrup from scratch - butter, sugar/brown sugar (amount depends on how sweet your peaches are) and you can even throw in some cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and some people even put in some almond extract, too.
Agree. I was all set to make a peach pie a few weeks ago but my premade crust decided to shrink on me. Thankfully my peach component was made very different than this one here (lots of juice thanks to the butter put in as the recipe called for). Instead of doing a base like John I had a crumble set to go on top. First time making what I did and it turned out great!!
I grew up in Minnesota and everyone up there when you say "cobbler" knows it as the biscuit like topping. I've moved down south and people down here think of it as the "pie crust". When I want cobbler I want cobbler. Not pie. Lol
Hi friends! Hope everyone gets to make this delicious cobbler. The recipe has 3/4 cup of sugar (150g) mixed in with the dry ingredients, but it acceidentally got cut out of the final video! Happy Baking!

Same! I swear he reads my mind.
I sooooo wish you were my chef!!!! I love your meals and desserts!!! 😋
I was not expecting the whole butter being thrown in😂😂
Grace C I had a good belly laugh at that too!😂😂
Me too
We have a peach tree that is giving us beautiful peaches this year, I was looking for a peach cobbler and found your video.
When you put the butter in the pan, it reminded me of the cake gif where the person slices a cake, and then takes the unsliced portion
Wow

I been cooking for over 30 years professionally and you showed me to look at food totally different thanks
Woowwwww, I just made peach cobbler and it didnt turn out. Definitely using this next time😁
Just made this today, PHENOMENAL and will make for the rest of my days!! The 3/4 cup sugar mistakenly edited from the video that was supposed to be in the dry ingredients isn’t necessary. I knew it was left out and decided to leave it out anyway and it’s absolutely perfect. That extra sugar would make it too sweet.
I've been meaning to make peach cobbler. This is a sign that it needs to happen sooner rather than later. 🍑😋
Peachy dory results! The best peach cobbler I’ve ever made for my sweetheart-easy and delicious. I wanted to get a picture, but it was gone before I knew it. Thank you so much for sharing your family’s recipe.
¡Felicidades!

Wow that’s amazing, I can see you enjoyed the recipe.
"Cut off a tablespoon... and use the rest" 🤣 My kind of recipe!
You definitely are the very best! I love that you don't take shortcuts.
Dumb question, but could you blanch the peaches to make peeling them easier or would that negatively affect the flavor/cooking time?
That's 'ole skool. My mom did it that way. I think it just softened them, but made removing the skin easier. But you know what? That whole process is messier and more time consuming. Boiling, blanching, cooling, peeling, putting, and slicing.
You are one of my favorite chef 👨🍳 thank you for amazing recipes
Nice 👌
Made this & used caned peaches, it came out the same just as he said, it was not overly sweet, it was refreshing & a fine dessert! Would definitely do this one again!

Saranda person lmao 😂 yasss! Call them out 😅
I don’t think there is any video this man could make that I would dislike.
People are just naturally negative. Pay it no mind.
@@stefanmarchione6757 I don't understand what do you get if you're negative how can you be happy living like that I don't understand some people 😣😑
You are the only person affecting my keto ! 😅. I have never been disappointed in ANY of your delicious recipes ! Yummmm thanks so much !
The crumble topping was a “crisp” whereas my family’s cobbler recipe was similar to yours.
I sometimes add a cup of blueberries (fresh or frozen ) to my peach cobbler recipe.
You cannot know how long I've been looking for a quick and easy peach cobbler recipe. And this looks, AMazing
The Culture traditionally uses canned peaches, believe it or not.
I’m part of the culture 😂😂😂
This is awesome. Tried this couple of times already. Kids love it, wife as well!
I grew up in Minnesota and everyone up there when you say "cobbler" knows it as the biscuit like topping. I've moved down south and people down here think of it as the "pie crust". When I want cobbler I want cobbler. Not pie. Lol
love this recipe !!! look forward to making this tomorrow . Tracey from Austin Texas👅😛
I just made this today...Yummy 😜Tracey from Austin Texas
