You are so lucky to move to NZ. We have been down there twice in 2000 & 2006. We were on an antique car tours both times. Traveled all over both islands. The people were so friendly.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about living in new zealand, it's really helpful to me. Me and my family we'll be moving there by early March this year:) All the best for you and your beautiful family:)

hey Jen I absolutely love these videos! so so helpful. think i may do one myself. we are currently doing of visas for New Zealand and hubby lands in Auckland in March and we follow around june. cant wait x thanks for the info jen x
how is the infrastructure and quality of roads I live in the Netherlands and it's an very devolped infrastructure. lots of bus and train connections and six lane highways, if there's a crack/hole in the road it gets repaird within 1 day
They're basic but in good repair, in my experience. There is not a nationwide train or bus network, although there are limited services, depending on the area.
From what Europeans (not British or Irish) who have lived there told me, roads aren't great and public transport is pretty shit. They all lived in cities in Europe, so I'm sure people in the country side would think buses and all that are great in NZ! A Dutch guy had lived in NZ for a few years before coming back to Europe and said that basically, NZ is Europe 80 years ago. But, everyone seemed to agree than the country was beautiful and people really nice! I've been asking around and binge watching RUclips videos cause I'm going to NZ soon :)
I feel the same now , I miss all my family . Friends . And my childhood memories. But I am thinking of a better place to raise my children where they can live safe and better education.
Patrick Williams my husband arrives in auckland in march and me and the kids will follow around June. we have a few things on here before we move! when do u guys arrive? where you moving from?
Effy - My Online Diary, we are going in August, my wife is from NZ (been in U.K. 10 years). We are going to Hastings for a few months then hope to move to Wellington after.
Hi, I have a question concerning to the "evidence of partnership": On the official site is written: www.immigration.govt.nz/documents/forms-and-guides/inz1105.pdf You need to supply evidence of a genuine and stable partnership of at least 12 months with your partner. You could show evidence of this by supplying the following. • Marriage or civil union certificate. • Proof of shared residence (a joint mortgage, or tenancy agreements, or rent book). • Financial dependence or interdependence (proof of shared income, or bank accounts, or accounts that show money transfers to or from your account to your partner’s account). • Birth certificates of your children. • Any evidence of public or family recognition of your relationship. • Correspondence (including post-marked envelopes) to you and your partner at the same address. • Photographs of you and your partner together. • Evidence of the duration of your relationship. • Evidence of the support of your parent(s) or guardian(s) if either of you are aged 16 or 17 years old Do I need to supply ALL of these documents? It sounds ridiculous to ask for letters from friends for a couple who lives together for 10 years, has Marriage certificate and shared children. How does it work? Thanks in advance!

Hi there. I wanted to chime in and let anyone who is interested about gaining employment as a teacher in NZ. My husband and I are from the US and we are working with Education Personnel Ltd (edperson.co.nz/) and they work directly with the Ministry of Education to help vet and connect teachers with schools, while also helping the teachers with the application processes involved in gaining employment and visas. The staff has been most helpful in sorting out the many details. Hopefully this information helps.
Why did you choose England originally? Do you think you would of moved to New Zealand instead? Also, from your Christmas vlog you had Grant's brother with you. Does he live in NZ too? How long has he been here?
Great questions, will add the first two to my next Q&A video. Grant's brother has been in NZ since August 2015, he lives around half an hour away from us.
hi there...I've been watching some of your videos and I must thank you, they have been very informative.. I have one question. if I want to bring my 2 dogs and my parrot with me to live in nz, how would I do that? or what is the best option regarding that?
We didn't bring any pets so I'm sorry, I don't have any experience or advice. All I know is it will be very expensive and I believe they will be in quarantine for a while before they can come and live with you.
I can sort of answer this one. It will depend on a number of things as to how much it will cost and it will also depend on the breed of dogs as some breeds (such as the American pit bull) are not allowed into New Zealand. A little while ago a friend of my family moved to the UK from Sydney, Australia and took with them their 2 dogs (Lhasa Apso). They used the company JetPets and were VERY happy with the service. When we started looking into how much a move from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, NZ would cost, I made a general enquiry with JetPets as we have 3 cats who would be making the move with us. All up, it is going to cost roughly one thousand dollars per cat (yes, that's $1k AUD), so $3k all up. BUT Australia and NZ have similar quarrantine and pet vaccination laws so we get a "free pass" (so to speak) in that our pets wouldn't need to stay in quarrantine on arrival. However, if your pets are coming from anywhere else, they will need a stay in quarrantine (There are LOTS of diseases that Aust and NZ don't have, and we'd like to keep it that way. Eg: no rabies in either country). JetPets will take care of almost everything as far as paperwork is concerned, we just need to organise the pre-travel vet checks. Honestly, find a few pet travel companies and get some general enquiry quotes. Here is the NZ government page regarding bringing pets into NZ. It's pretty helpful. Good luck. www.mpi.govt.nz/importing/live-animals/pets/
How many people do you know that are immigrants to New Zealand? It's interesting to me that so many people want to move there. It seems to be a beautiful and very safe place to live though.
Thanks for all info Jen! Very very helpful. My family and I ( myself, hubby and two daughters 6yo and 2yo) are seriously thinking about moving to New Zealand and we are also going for the points to get the residence visa. If I understood it right first we get the temporary residence and after two years we can apply for the permanent one. Do you know if All the information about health, appointment with doctor and dentist are only for the people who has the permanent residency or temporary residency would apply also. Thank you
I know that you won't have experience with this first hand but my family might be moving to New Zealand and I was wondering what the vegan culture is like. We are thinking of living somewhere rural and i just say you grocery haul and day lots of fruits and veggies but I was wanting to know of you had things like almond and soya milk as well as things like chia and flaxseed. Thanks anyway for these great videos keep it up 😀
I've been looking everywhere on the MPI website, and I've googled it, and can't find my answer. Does anyone know: can I take a straw bag (like market/beach bag) into NZ?
You can look for a job, but you can't accept an offer. I saw it...on the immigration website I think...can't remember, cause I'm not planning on going on a holiday visa.
I have heard that for some operations there can be a long waiting list but we've never had any trouble with hospital services. Part time jobs would be the same as anywhere - retail, fast food, etc :)
Hi Jen, I want to move to New Zealand and managed to find a job while still being in Europe. It is a long term job working full time in a store. Is this a job that could help me get a visa? Thank you for making these videos, they are so helpful.

You need to supply evidence of a genuine and stable partnership of at least 12 months with your

• Marriage or civil union certificate.
• Proof of shared residence (a joint mortgage, or tenancy agreements, or rent book).

• Photographs of you and your partner together.
• Evidence of the duration of your relationship.
• Evidence of the support of your parent(s) or guardian(s) if either of you are aged 16 or 17 years old
Do I need to supply ALL of these documents? It sounds ridiculous to ask for letters from friends for a couple who lives together for 10 years, has Marriage certificate and shared children. How does it work?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I'm wondering if this also varies from area to area.
great 😊 why you chose that area ?? rather than Auckland the big city ? Thanks...
I'll definitely talk about this in my next Q&A video, thanks for the great question :)
They have actually stopped the looking for jobs on holiday visa now as of last year.
That's interesting. I know they have tightened up all avenues of entry.
