My name is Dani Watt and I'm a 21-year-old student from New Zealand. Welcome to my channel. I make videos on the internet mostly out of boredom but also for the fun! My channel consists mainly of beauty videos, but I also do everything from makeup/beauty/fashion videos, to skits, rants, life tips and general vlogs!

Please leave video requests down below and i'll film them!!!
Morning/night routine or makeup collection !! xx
Dani Watt Hey Dani, I just discovered your channel, and I absolutely love it. I am 16 and I'm totally interested im New Zealand, but I don't know where to start! I have questions specifically about the New Zealand universities; like the costs, education requirements, etc! I am from California. Thanks so much !
Dani Watt Please do a video about yourself. Like "25 questions with Dani" on social media get people to ask questions! btw just discovered your Chanel and I'm from New Zealand too. Lots of love ☺️
Would a livestock Veterinarian have a good chance of finding jobs and living a good life?
Yes
I just moved to new Zealand andI love it here. I feel so safe, calm and i really have found my inner peace.
i'm so glad you found your inner peace here that's beautiful!
Hey Dani, Thank you for the very informative video. I'm from Egypt and I've been doing some online research on moving to NZ when I came across your video. it's great that in one video you've managed to touch on many of the main aspects as well as the small details that shapes one's life in NZ :)
Hey please don't move to New Zealand's New Zealand is overcrowded and the average household cost 1 million dollars that is because people from overseas are moving here and it's such a small country too and everybody is competing with everybody and that's a massive problem so you would be doing us a great favour not moving here.
Hi Mahmoud am maori in NZ kia ora (Hello) mate disregard comments from those idiots. Your country is rich in history and your customs and beliefs. It would be an honor to meet someone from your country here in NZ. Kia Kaha (Be Strong)
Thanks for this Dani! I have a strong feeling I'll be migrating to NZ and live there for the rest of my life. This video got me even more excited.
Hopefully moving to NZ later this year. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. They are so helpful 👌🏻
What I love about New Zealand is that when you come home from school or work you can relax at the beach, go skateboarding with your mates and have a BBQ with your family. But compared to Sweden where I live. When you come home you grab your computer/iPad and nothing more really.
Why can't do those things in Sweden? Is it just too cold or something haha?
Dani Watt Yeah. I've also just come home from nz so frankly quite miss it.
I wish. Not where I am. Hello darkness my old friend. I just watch this stupid stuff when I get home. Nothing to do here in nz
Daniel watt. We don't do that. I'm nz and we only get to do that in the summer holidays
Guy got off his commuter train a couple of days ago and waded into nearby beach and phographed a pod of Orca hunting.
I'm from New Zealand and live in nz and nz is the best and most beautiful place
Thank you for the video. I'm excited for my family to thrive in your beautiful country.❤
Awesome video Dani. Very interesting to watch your story. It's very helpful. Thanks for sharing. I support your channel and liked.
This was much more informative than I was expecting. Thumbs up.
👍
Parker Shinn I know. I just came here for the beautiful girl.
Ended up in Detroit after the war.
He loved it there
what were you expecting?
I'm from Germany and have been to NZ twice. I'd love to come back someday again because the landscape is just stunning! You're so lucky to live in such a beautiful place :)
Yeah it is pretty nice! I would love to visit Germany though.
Germany is beautiful too Maybe the landcapes aren't as diverse as New Zealand ,but still beautiful
Mela N funny to hear you say that, cos I think Germany is way more beautiful :) ofc both are lovely
Yeah but head down to hamilton Auckland and that and it is terribly populated. In Cambridge the houses cost around a million dollars. And the trucks here pollute the air real bad
You did an excellent job of this video . A good overview, well presented . You asked that we let you know where your viewers live . I am a New Zealander , married to a Canadian , and living in Canada . I grieve for the home of my heart daily . Life can sometimes push us around a bit . I live a good life , but the trip my family and I took to NZ a year ago showed me that NZ is still stunningly lovely , the people open and welcoming , the lush varied vegetation a delight , and as in your case I feel fortunate I was brought up there . All the best with your RUclips life , and your life in general .❤️
Hi just found your channel! I’m from Germany but currently in New Zealand! I really really love this country. At first I wasn’t sure if I ever could like this country but I really felt in love with New Zealand and I don’t wanna leave it. I will come back some time and I’m also thinking about living here for a bit. Nice channel btw ;))
I’m from Germany and I was an exchange student in New Zealand last year and since then I’ve been in love with your country ever since! I’m gonna go for a travel around the country after graduating and I’d love to move there after finishing Uni or when I’m older! I’m gonna pursue an art degree and would love to start my magazine one day.. :)
Planning on working in NZ with a working holiday visa!
It's great that people are welcoming there
Young boy comin from Tokyo, Japan
That would be awesome I would totally recommend doing that! Wow i'd love to visit Tokyo someday it looks amazing :)
Hey Dani, thanks for the informative video about New Zealand.
My spouse and I are from the Great White North and looking to potentially move to New Zealand.
Thanks again!
Thank you so much! Yes! I am looking at moving there next year. I would like to know the best places to rent for now. I saw a nice place in Auckland called the Queen I believe, looking for a 2-3 bedroom, with a 2 bathroom and a tub is a must! Once again, thanks for sharing and stay blessed!
As a New Zealander, I can agree with everything she's said. Great information :)
Dani, I am Australian and I agree with all your points. I have spent quite a bit of time in NZ although if you love friendly quality people such as yourself then I don't recommend Sydney as its very clicky, expensive and people can be very unhelpful. I am coming back to New Zealand in 2018.
Some people are and some people are not helpful
Zackary Selfe Sydney is pretty medicore
Cairo Murphy how is it mediocre?
Moving from Denmark (Europe) to Christchurch in about 2 months time! Can't wait! :) Great video
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! My wife and I would LOVE to move out of the USA, and it sounds like New Zealand is the ideal place for us.
Wow girl, so glad I ran into this Video, good content , and thank you for being so clear with every point you made 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁.
You're so sweet thank you! xx
Dani Watt Hi Dani!!
I am a 20 year firefighter from Canada. How valuable would my skillset be in NZ? Would it be easy for me to move to NZ as a professional emergency services person?
I am genuinely interested, mostly in the country though, not a big city.
I'm from North Carolina! I'm studying abroad at the University of Canterbury in NZ this spring! I'm super excited(:
Lily Yang im attending UC next year! we kiwis welcome you 🤙🏼✌🏼
I'm from Christchurch! You'll love it here! (:
You guna have a experience lol
Hi Dani, nice to meet you too. I have just found your video channel and I am subscribing. I live in Melbourne Australia, but my mum was born in Palmerston North. My favourite New Zealand city is Wellington. I visited New Zealand on holidays five times during the 1970's, though mostly the North Island, with the exception of day trips to Picton and Christchurch. I got slightly hurt in New Zealand back in 1970, when I accidentally sat in a gorse bush!!! Ouch!! LOL. Thanks for sharing an excellent video. All the very best. Robert.
I’m french and I’m moving to New Zealand for 3 months, so thank you so much for your videos !
I am from Lebanon and I'm checking NZ as well as Korea and Japan as possible choices for me to live in so this was really helpful thanx!
one of the bros is from Lebanon
Hamilton, New Zealand. Great city, awesome country. Especially the healthcare...
To many sexually transmitted disease's up there thou bruv.
Hi! I'm Italian/Polish currently living in South Korea. At the beginning of April I'm going to New Zealand for my honeymoon and I can't be more excited! Also, preparing my trip I kind of considered moving to NZ in the future but I know it's not really possible. Your video was very informative and fascinating! Thank you!
I'm moving from the U.S. to Wellington in February next year and really appreciated the information! You said you live in Wellington right? Could you maybe do a pros and cons video for the city? Keep up the good work!
I love NZ and the KIWI people. Greetings from Brazil
+Dark Justice just another well adjusted Kiwi!
@Dark Justice is it really that bad? Cant be as bad as the UK?
prab singh no it is not
We are kiwis not the kiwi people
Hi Paulo, I'm Brasiliero too. but i'm in Auckland now. i adopted English so freakin' well. To you, I will say good choice cause you're gonna love it here in NZ. You'll be alright. promise. I know you'll have lots of questions in mind so what i wish for you is not to stop researching about the place
Deffo true about the job thing which I love! Im from the UK and have been living in Wellington since 2015. I was always nervous whenever people asked about my hospo job but people literally aren even fussed - huge difference from the UK!
What type of work do you do?...if you don't mind me asking please? I'm just curious because I was interested in moving to NZ.
I loved my time I have spent in Christchurch while waiting to travel to work at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. People were friendly, Great food, Good coffee/small but very good, Beautiful surroundings and post earthquake architecture. Currently viewing from Antarctica. I hope to visit the NZ Scott Base again today. Great is always had there.
I'm moving to NZ in July for university and I'm soooo super excited about it, I can't w8 any longer.. seriously soo stoked. Thanks for this great synopsis of this great country. Ofc, every place has its pros and cons but I feel like NZ is one of the best places to live on Earth.
until you have to find decent place to live and work, then you realise waht a sih!hole it is...
I really like how New Zealand is, can't wait to visit one day !! greetings from NYC
Wow awesome, want to trade places? I'd love to go to NYC
Laura hey there, NYC is almost the opposite of what NZ is. long work hours, people in a hurry pushing and shoving but it is a great city to visits at least once to see all the sights. oh and the variety of food here is great. cheers
Isaac Tearii hey Issac
John L. I'm from New Zealand and I love it to I think NYC is pretty cool to
Ya nz is great lived hear my whole life and I love it! If you do come just get used to seeing a whooole bunch of sheep and cows :P
Having lived in the UK (3 yrs) and USA (1 yr) I can say the quality of life in NZ is far superior. It's really not that expensive compared to London and San Francisco. The wages are lower but in my field the work/life balance is better and colleagues are so much more supportive. Side note, very strange to hear the Kiwi accent having been away for ages :o
hey, nice video ! We re planning to come in December / jannuary. We're from france, and planning olso in few years to settle in nz !
Im from Chile and my family is seriously consdiering moving to New Zealand. I like the idea and am looking up as much info as I can. Thanks for an informative video
I was born and raised in New Zealand but work brought me to the UK in 2006 and I’ve lived in England ever since. Love this video makes me homesick😢
tekryn You and your mum will love it there. I’m from the North Island a place called Auckland. I hope it all works out and you enjoy your time in “The Land Of The Long White Cloud”🇳🇿🙌🏽
Stay where you are...its has became a socialist hellhole, well...wait the UK too - oh yore fcuked man!
My question is,
So I work in water distribution/ treatment, how are jobs like that in New Zealand ?
Also, are government jobs hard for foreigners to get?
Hi!
I'm watching for Mexico, and I enjoyed your video a lot!
I've dreamed of visiting New Zealand and maybe move there for some time, and now I'm even more keen on going there some time! It all looks very beautiful indeed. Oh by the way I love your accent :) I love some kiwi bands, like Ladyhawke and Yumi Zouma.
Hi! I'm from Mexico. I wanted to know if I'm able to understand New Zealand accent 'cause I'm learning English and I want to visit that such a beautiful country, I enjoyed a lot your video, It was too interesting and now I'm subscribed :). Actually, I think that there are more pros than cons. Be proud of you because now you know that there are people that watch your videos even when They don't belong from an English speaking country.
I'll be going to New Zealand for eight weeks for an internship and I could not be more excited!
Shall do mine next year ! Can't wait really !!!
Charlsie Fowler I really really like your profile picture
SugarBug , She got me with Led ZEPPELIN!!!
Charlsie Fowler try 2 years 😔😔 I'm terrified of spiders
Charlsie Fowler what internship??
Hi from Czech Republic. I really want to move to NZ in a few years, that's so beautiful country. ❤ You are lucky to live there.
Klára Frühaufová : Look up the job categories that are given preference to migrate; it's all on the Immigration Dept. website.
Can we swap places? haha
Klára Frühaufová hey girl you would be doing us a massive favour not moving to New Zealand's this place is so overcrowded that the average household cost 1 million dollars because we have to compete with people overseas. This country is way too small for everybody to come live in
Thanks for uploading this video, very informative, would love to come to NZ one day... - love from India!!
My family and I are currently busy with the moving process to New Zealand, we can't wait to move. We currently live in South Africa. Your video was very informative, thank you!
I’m from the US, but have been living in Wellington for about a year! Love this place! Couldn’t agree more with your list
Any suggestions on how to move to New Zealand
@@karenpeterman2016 Look into getting a Working Holiday Visa - it's a good place to start and is pretty cheap. I don't know if they're available at the moment with Covid restrictions though!
@@CLBurns52 thank you
How easy is it for US retirees to permanent,y move to New Zealand. The US has become a very scary place.
Watching from Canada, and I'm thinking one day I might move to NZ
I've always imagined Canada to be a great place. What're your motivations/reasons to move to NZ?
Thanks for all the great info. My husband and I plan on visiting New Zealand and seeing if we would like to stay!! From Washington State, USA
Mary Weeks hey girl you would be doing New Zealand a massive favour by not moving here because Kiwis are competing with so many people moving here from overseas the average household has gone upto a million dollars. New Zealand is just way too small to support everybody please don't move here please
From South Africa and relocating to NZ this year..... So excited!
Wonderful Dani! Thank you for the useful info, i'd love to go to NZ indeed!
Hi Nathalie, Yes must visit country..🙂
Pro tip : Some South & East Auckland Suburbs crime rate are high, make sure your car is always locked and take every thing on you like phones, wallet etc, and at least parked in open areas where people can see your car but other than that don't judge every Polynesian or what ever culture by their looks or how they wear, everyone has different mind sets & its usually friendly on how you approach.
KIDChronic : East Auckland is the suburbs along Tamaki Drive. South-East Auckland is the suburbs of Howick, Botany, etc. Isn't it West Auckland that has a reputation for "creative acquisition"?
South = Otara, Flatbush, Papatoetoe, Mangere etc
&
East = Glen Innes, Panmure, Mt Wellington, Orakei etc
West Auckland doesn't have that much crime rate, & North.......... North just stays as North
EDIT* I grew up on both side and have seen worse on both sides
Lots To Learn I'm from south, but my house and car is always left unlocked.
Mission bay is the best suburb in Auckland :)
You mentioned one thing that I had already forgotten, which was ozone layer. In the lodge that I stayed in, there was that self service lotion on the wall, and I thought it was very interesting and made me more aware about skin cancer in NZ.
Thanks Dani, We stay in New Zealand and just started working on our channel and some awesome video. 🙂👍
I am from Australia 🇦🇺 but I live in New Zealand 🇳🇿
Go away.lol
cons: terrible paying work, less work opportunity and stuff is more expensive. Pros: awesome culture, amazing nature and cool people (I have lived mainly in New Zealand and now I live in Australia)
Eden Stocker cons: spiders
Eden Stocker there's a lot of work
I couldn't agree more.....
Speaking of which why did Anglo pirates, some 20,000 miles away from jolly old England, sailed half way around the world and occupied in late 18th century? Why didn't they occupy beautiful fertile Iceland, right above them just a short distant away, with hardly any people there? This doesn't make sense at all. blog.chinadaily.com.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=711807
Why is Australia, a giant bountiful resourceful continent in Asia-Pacific region, only a few hundred miles away from South-East Asia had no Asian-Pacific Islanders historically inhabiting when Anglo pirates, some 20,000 miles away from jolly old England, sailed half way around the world and occupied in late 18th century? [Why didn't they occupy beautiful fertile Iceland, right above them just a short distant away, with hardly any people there?!] This doesn't make sense, since Asian-Pacific Islanders originally had been inhabiting in Pacific as far away islands as Guam, Tonga, New Zealand, Tahiti, Fiji & Hawaii! blog.chinadaily.com.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=711807
Très clair! Merci pour toutes ces informations ! Bien fait! Clear informative well done! Diane from Québec Canada
Hi! Thanks a lot! Such a good video!
I'm from Russia and I'm looking for moving to New Zealand with family.
You speak so fast, I need to watch it again :DD
Hey mate, did you do it?
u go on about the cheap prices in usa well look at the pop over 380mill to 4.5 also most time what we pay for things like milk is because of the price they get over seas this is been going on for years same with meat also we have so many middle men in this country from the maker to the shop and they all put there cost to an item
hi,
whats are the most wanted trades in New Zealand?
Peyvand Manavipour builders because we don't have enough houses to support everybody from overseas moving to New Zealand and now Kiwis are homeless because we competing with people like you
All Trades there is a shortage I'm an Electrician big boom in residential and commercial happening
I think the prices of houses are high, particularly in Auckland.... I Have also heard that Heath care is a bit poor. Plus houses are not warm enough in Winter
Thanks for the video!
I'd love to move to NZ... hopefully I can visit soon..
I'm from Wyoming, USA
I live in the U.S. and I really want to move to New Zealand. This was really helpful!! And I think you should definantly make a video on how to move there (If you haven't already)
Hey Dani please make a video on how to move to New zealand, i am very interested in coming there
Likewise, I am also interested, as I have long understood it is very hard to become a citizen of NZ. You can be welcomed as a visitor for 90 days, maybe 6 months, but then you have to leave unless you own some NZ real estate or have some job/business that is deemed cannot be done by a native Kiwi. Also would like more commentary on the basic costs of living in NZ vs. USA or elsewhere. I cannot believe it would be double what it costs to live monthly in the USA.
It's awesome in NZ it's great mate
Fascinating.
I'm a Brit who lives in the US (Florida to be exact). The main differences are:
-The weather: Very long, hot summers and warm winters in FL. Much better than the never ending cloudiness of the UK.
-Education: The system is COMPLETELY different. There's too much to explain here, but basically, the US system focus on breadth instead of depth. School finishes at 18 instead of 16, sixth form doesn't exist, and one has to do general education subjects (such as maths and english)at uni.
-The people: people over here are very open and helpful, especially when talking about customer service. In England, people are wayyy more reserved.
-The infastructure: Down here in FL, everything is very spread out. You NEED a car to get anywhere, especially in the summer.
Hello! I am also a Brit. Desperate to get a visa so I can live and work in the USA. May I ask what kind of visa you have? As it seems I'm not eligible for any of them =[
Many Thanks
I was born in the US when my parents lived here before, so I didn't have to worry about visas. Sorry to be useless :/
Lewis Ingram
Why don't you ask the American Embassy, they have an enquiry section.
Denise G- Hill I will do, thanks!
Yes we do... I'm Floridian too, Melbourne to be exact. Driving is essential here. And we do have all kinds of people from everywhere. But this state needs more places to go like more museums, we got beaches though, the best of them. I have never seen snow so I have no idea about The subject, but I'm glad you staying positive from UK to Florida is a Change because everybody want to live in NY,Cali, places like that. 🤣
Hey I’m from Wales but lived in Te Puke for 2 years when I was 10. I often want to go back and visit my old friends and family.
The people I met in NZ where so open and welcoming made my feel like i belonged 😊
Just moved here 2 months ago. I enjoyed your video. Fair inputs. Cheers!
Im from England and my parents are looking to move me and my my younger sister and brother to either New Zealand or Australia in the the next few years. Any tips? Australia or New Zealand?
guess it depends on whether you want to sound like an Aussie or a Kiwi....
and they beat us on stealing our stuff XD
@mtuckster you are comparing a continental climate with oceanic.
That's funny. @@isaakvandaalen3899
@mtuckster wrong. Auckland actually has a slightly higher average year round temperature than Melbourne. One or two 38C+ days in summer doesnt compensate for the colder winters they get.
Hi, Dani. I am indeed an American who's been tossing around the idea of moving to New Zealand (I'm from near Chicago). I wanted to ask about health care in New Zealand. I understand from Wikipedia that the country has a sort of mix of private and public systems. Are most New Zealanders generally happy with that system? What is there to know about health care in NZ apart from what's on Wikipedia?
Hey Dylan, that's awesome I love Chicago! We have a great health care system here in NZ. I'm no expert but I could suggest going onto the ministry health website to find out more. :)
Good idea. Thanks.
No, most NZers are not happy with the system! As an American coming here you will need a 2 year visa to qualify for health care. If shorter than that you will need private insurance. Private is the way to go as you will be seen in a timely manner and the specialists will love you because your insurance company pays up front. There is a shortage of GPs in the country so it is hard to get on with a regular clinic. Visits to the GP will generally be cheaper than any co-pay that you have in the US though so... if you don't mind a 4 month wait to see a specialist, things are good with the private system. Medications are subsidized though which is great as you don't have to be rich to afford prescription medications.
I'll respectfully disagree sir. I'm a Kiwi living here all my life. We do have waiting lists for some things, but if it's life threatening (like a heart attack) you'll be seen immediately and get excellent treatment. Even for things you have to wait for in my life I've been looked after well. Some of the best maternity care too. I do not waste my money on insurance, my taxes pay for my health care and for my family.
we have a public system funded by taxes that will be okay for most issues. it's worked fine for me so far in my life, including having a child and raising a family.
Hi there, great video. I was born and raised in New Zealand then when I was 20 years young I worked in Australia and loved it then got a job in Canada where I’ve lived for almost 30 years!! Toooooo long. Moving home to NZ in next couple of years. Time for a REAL SUMMER.
Hi I have been to NZ four years ago and I would say it is one of the most beautiful places in the world! May I ask what your background music is? I have been watching your videos so many times but every time I am always interested in your music!
I lost my shoes when the second day I arrived in New Zealand
I just saw this comment and for some reason it made me laugh so much haha
Dani Watt my landlord stole my shoes.....
Unwanted Jason I lost some brain cells reading that horrid sentence.
Adam M I feel sorry that my words hurt your feelings so much, maybe take some pills would fix your vulnerable brain cells? Maybe I should say "my landlord was a great person with caring personalities who just wanted to recycle my shoes?" Lmfao...I mean not only shoes were lost stolen also the trust of leaving my personal belongings with an unlocked door was easily broken, wasn't it sad or just a creepy landlord tried to make New Zealand look bad in this particular video?
@@scbr4889 Obviously people will be people. There are assholes no matter where you are, even New Zealand. I like to think kiwis are in general quite nice and accepting, but certainly there are unfortunate exceptions.
I'm from Finland and I would love to move to New Zealand 😍
Come, move to tekuiti
thnx I really liked the video... i found it's very informative although every time i try to focus in the vedio i found it's very difficult to do it and not .disdracted by your eyes :') .....i'm sure that i will give it a visit soon
keep going ... love from egypt
Great video thanks for the information, im in the US and i would like to visit NZ next year and possibly move how hard is it to find a job in my field and whats the most economic way to stay for about a week? Thanks in advance
From Australia, grew up in New South Wales. Really interested in the Queenstown area maybe Frankton, I'm dreading the cost though. Thankfully I'm eligible for citizenship
Queenstown is so beautiful!! It would be amazing to live there minus the cost!!
you live in NSW im guessing the cost would be similar if you live near sydney.
RYAN JARED Oh god, I'd never live near that cesspit XD
Nooo! don't choose queenstown! its sooo expensive and there are so many other places that are only a 2 hour drive to there for a wee get away or whatever like good old Dunedin, but my best friend lives in Queenstown and dreads it. Hope I helped :)

Moving from Canada to New Zealand next month for a year...this is Super helpful
Thanks for this, and yes, a video about how one would move there would be nice. I live in New York, and going to Oz for the first time later this month. It will be a busy trip so not sure if I will have time to go to New Zealand, I hope I do. Especially compared to the crazy, concrete jungle of New York, NZ sounds like Paradise! :)
Yesssssssss new Zealand finally a video that is not is USA I love nz it is amazing
nice video , thx 4 the upload
i am from germany : )
how about career opportunities for international students there particularly engineers ?
y aviable
i am sorry i didnot understand

not gonna lie, it'd be hard to break into the NZ workforce. they tend to want Kiwi experience... try to get something before you come would be my advice. we have plenty of taxi drivers here with degrees :-(
Hi Dani! I enjoyed watching this video. I get to know little more about New Zeland. From Angola
New Zealand is amazing. I am so glad I live here. Love it
I'm from Samoa but I came to nz when I was 3

I love NZ! I fell in love there in 2007, happily married to him now:) Hope to be able to move back there soon, this time along with our wee one and dog. We're currently living in Barcelona. Thanks for the video Dani Watt!
Aw that's so cool. Nice to hear such a beautiful story Sarai. :)
Off to New Zealand in 5 weeks time from the UK... Got a job as a tree surgeon at a large Arboriculture company, to say i'm excited is an understatement! :)
Watching this from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I love visiting the other countries of the British Commonwealth, Western Europe and US but peronally there is no place like my Canada. Love the winters.
I was born in nz left at 19 lived in Auckland little suburb called oranga have lived in oz for forty years both are great countries good on ya your a proud kiwi
I agree that Canada is an amazing country but it's not as enjoyable to live there in winter.
I hate winter
Hi Dani I really wnat to thank you for this valuable informative video :)
I am from Saudi Arabia and I am going to continue my post graduate study in the field of business. Frankly, New Zealand is one of my options that I think most of the people like to be closer to nature as much as possible and I knew some friends who have grduated from New Zealand and they had good experience thier so far. I am aiming for a country that allows me to lecture in their Universitis to get the sufficient experienc in teaching. so my first question is about the country policy about working and staying in the country for several years how easy/difficult is that? my second question is regarding transportation, in your opinion what the best economical method to move around in New Zealand? buying a car or using public transportation?
Thank you once agin for your enlighting video Dani :)
thx for the video. looking to move to NZ so decent start
Hi Dani,,, I really love your videos. It's been three years since you posted this video. Are you planning maybe on making more videos. I hope so because you are very lovely and natural and very informative.
I'm from England and am hopefully going to work in NZ for a year, no idea where I want to live yet, was considering Auckland or Christchurch!
Awesome! Both places would be good. Auckland will have more opportunities job wise but being in Christchurch would be pretty cool as it'd be much easier to explore and road trip the south island which is the most beautiful part of NZ! Good luck :)
How does Christchurch differ from Wellington? Which one would you recommend? Thanks for replying!
Christchurch is a lot closer to farmland, but does have the city. I go down to Christchurch quite often but I'm not too sure what the job opportunities are like. I live in Wellington, I can tell you that its more of a city than Christchurch, we have a museum (been there so many times, could be interesting for you), good walks, its not hot but can have nice weather. Finding a job really depends on if you want a casual job or one you're qualified for. Sorry this probably wasn't helpful, but I like Wellington

Everywhere in the world , effort and patience is needed to find a job. I know a person who moved to Canada and has spent few months training and searching for a job before he was employed despite having a certificate but a foreign French certificate.
Opportunities are found almost everywhere but you have to like the place where you want to live to be able to get accustomed.
Laura I
Mitch here, from Minnesota. A friend and I are thinking about moving to nz for up to a year. What are your favorite months in nz?
12 21 I'm from New Zealand and some good months are in the summer. December, January and February where it's nice and warm. Like Napier for instance.
I'm a Kiwi and I'll agree with Grace. Mostly. January, February, March are the best.
I was born and grew up in nz but moved to usa when i was 10. I finally moving back now im 14, i can relate to everything you said!
this is very informative thank you so much for this video and by the way i'm from the Philippines same as your county with a lot of beaches and springs
I emigrated from the USA to New Zealand in 1992, and expect to end my life there.
Kiwis are more like North Americans than they appreciate. Californians have told me that New Zealand reminds them of what California was like 50-60 years ago, and I tend to agree.
New Zealand is an honest democracy, and a multi-racial society relatively free of identity politics. Behind closed doors, the two major parties are quite pragmatic in their orientation.
New Zealand is a very low key ally of the USA, so low key that much of the world treats New Zealanders as citizens of a non-aligned nation.
The public sector is relatively free of corruption, but is vulnerable to pressure from business interests, as is the case everywhere else.
Problems:
* In 2016, New Zealand's GDP per capita, restated in US$, was only 69% of the comparable value for the USA, and the lowest among the 6 first world English speaking countries;
* Housing in the main cities, and in the more desirable rural towns, is quite dear. In much of the USA, housing is quite inexpensive;
* Many jobs do not pay very well;
* A diversified portfolio requires investing in Australian and American securities. The resulting exchange risk cannot be avoided;
* The income tax is quite simple, esp. if one is not a business owner and owns no foreign securities. If you don't have children under 18, the income tax is also harsh, with income taxed from the first dollar.
* The tax treatment of foreign equities and unit trusts is especially harsh. If you own a house in New Zealand, or rent one year-round, you will owe some income tax if you live in New Zealand more than 6 weeks out of the tax year;
* It is not unusual in New Zealand for people to hold management positions not because they are competent, but because they were the least bad of a very weak bunch of applicants, or were the only applicant;
* The system of socialised medicine does not cover many state of the art treatments, and rations access to the treatments that system does offer, via waiting lists. Immediate access to quality health care requires private health insurance
Thank you for this detailed list. Lots of good information.
This is all very good to know. I'll have to look into some of these statistics, as I imagine many of them have changed in the past 2 years, but it's a good start and has me asking questions
