Omg I am from New Zealand and I'm so ashamed of some of the comments I am reading being left from New Zealanders :'( They are absolutely horrible, I am so sorry about them, everyone is welcome to our beautiful country ❤ I personally love it when foreigners take interest in our little country! New Zealand has its bad qualities as well as good, it's not perfect just like every other country in the world. This girl is just stating things shes experienced well being here, and thought it would be helpful for anyone who was intrested in coming NZ to know about .I saw nothing wrong with this video I don't understand why some kiwis got so triggered XD relax guys XD
You have over looked the bigger issue , the huge influx of Indians and Asians in to this country in the last decade buying up property / land , pushing up rents , creating homelessness of our own . We are a small country we cant sustain large influxes of people moving here , we cant build a city the size of Tauranga in a year to house everyone . But then I surpose this is all fine and dandy if you have plenty of $ and own your own home .
The wifi is because you were using wifi from the places you were staying which is quite often not as good and not made for snapchat and other social medias, and being used by so many people at the same time.
Thank you so much! I thought your voice was trembling because you miss it so much. Was it? Just my impression. I’m so happy so see someone who is so thankful for being on this Earth and sharing these great uplifting things with others. 🙏 Namaste!
EngTeacherHK definitely!! I sort of have a raspy voice anyway hahah but yes I miss it a lot that I get emotional talking about it. Thanks so much for this comment, it made my day!
Awh that’s amazing that people are so friendly 😁😁 I learned a lot! Thank you! 😊 I want to go to New Zealand soon! My plan was to go there or Australia around September, but with coronavirus probably wont happen until once things blow over 😭
i'm so sorry for the really delayed response!! not sure why i didn't see the notification about this, but i hope you made it over there or will make it soon! it's such a lovely place :) i appreciate you watching and commenting!
I was in Auckland studying for 3 years and it was an awesome 3 years, i really miss it a lot and really want to go back there again, whether u live in the suburb or in the city its just fun to travel, and my fav season was on xmas day where u can see houses being decorated and boxing day of course..... Great video :) I lived in Auckland for a while about 2 years ago and had to come home in Montreal because the company that worked for unfortunately closed and at that time, I couldn't stay(but wanted to) but I miss it so so much. I'm planing to move back next year and stay in NZ as long as I can(I want to get the permanent residency at least) because, according to what I'm looking for, this is the best country in the world. Don't get me wrong, I still love Canada and Montreal especially since it's where I'm from, but NZ has so much to offer and when you start to compare the pros and cons, on the long run it's the best place for me. Everything you said were true...especially being a east coaster like you, we're pretty much ''in your face'' all the time (but without being rude..I think you now what I'm saying...friendly but reaaallllyyy opinionated haha) and even if that personality trait is still in me, I thought that I was not a stressed person, but after one week there, I saw that I was haha Because people are so relaxed, friendly, etc that you look at yourself and be like ''I need to calm down a little bit'' lol We're so political in North America all the time that when I saw a NZ Herald headline that was in the vein of ''NZ has a shortage of avocados'' I was like ''Yeaaaahhh...ok. Not much corruption and scandals here'' haha And THAT reflects the kindness of Kiwis I think (among other things of course) :) I hope you'll move there again someday as well! Cheers! P.S. Damn that I miss the Babe burger at Velvet Burger and Sal's Pizza...mmmmmmmmm lol
These are red flags about any country, I can tell you that have that the media is controlled by a monopoly of two media outlets. Any alternative view to the neoliberal outlook doesn't get a look in. The culture is provincial so it is very insular and inward looking, middle class is the largest social group and fitting into society means being bourgeoise. The veneer of society cohesion started to come undone from after the war and there is incredible division in society the media doesn't talk about because it could damage business optimism. There is a meanness out there which says if you are poor, it is your fault.
marshall886 that sucks. Kinda the same in Canada to an extent. But life is what you make it and opportunity comes when your relaxed in the moment and your have honest work ethic. That's all. And NZ isn't like South Africa or China where horrendous things happen. It's a beautiful country and actually has one of the highest quality of life of any developed country. And also it's better than the states just sayn.
Mashoto Shaku - “Free” in the economic sense of deregulated, under-regulated, or unregulated actually translates to much less class mobility between the capitalist economic classes. In the pre-capitalist world deregulation meant more class mobility for the burghers (who became the bourgeoisie), because it gave them the chance to attain the same or even greater wealth (and power!) as the nobility… but that’s all, and in the centuries since, laissez-faire capitalism has led to a permanent and widening divide between the owners of capital and laborers, with about as much chance of a laborer achieving significant wealth using the levers of capitalism as of winning the lottery.
Just need to point out that Auckland City is SO different from the actual suburbs of Auckland. You should rename this video Auckland CITY not Auckland.
Doglover 65 Hamilton was beautiful! I went for a few days and stayed at a lovely air bnb with an elderly woman for the balloons over Waikato! Also saw the Hamilton gardens which were absolutely beautiful! Waikato museum was very cool as well. What a great little area !
i've lived in newzealand my entire life, i actually don't wear shoes only school shoes or jandels. i actually just learnt that it's expensive to get here... well ive never been outside the north island. Also with the wifi, the area youre in just had a bad signal, wifi is pretty great
Ngawww I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday in New Zealand (home) ,,it feels nice hearing other people say positive things about NZ because not that many people know NZ 💞💞
I love NZ so much I cannot even describe. This was a year ago that I decided to study abroad there for 5 months, and I'm actually going back in about a week! Love it so much!
I've been to NZ when I was a lot younger and It seemed like a great place! Here in the U.K for the most part people just don't seem to want to make conversation lol :/ I'd definitely like to visit NZ again!
Did you go to the outer city areas of Auckland like the place where you hop onto the ferries to arrive at Kawau island, because those roads are usually empty.
Wifi is slower in Australia though, internet is expensive back home in NZ,the phone plans are rubbish, unlike Australia, who give so much more credit on a prepaid plan. But the internet is still faster in NZ.
girl, about internet connection, it's so easy, you just don't know or maybe you just need a little bit use google search the internet provider who offer the cheapest deal. Mine on my phone its just $19 a month a combo pack includes data, text and free call to Australia and NZ. And Internet at home unlimited for just $85 a month, so it's not too expensive at all.
I do agree that the phone plans are not very good over here compared to the US. However the broadband internet is some of the best in the world in NZ just not the 4G.
I live in new zealand and I never have WiFi issues. What phone plan did you go with? Did you buy a home WiFi plan with a router? We have unlimited fibre for $80 a month and it's fast as hell. Wait until you go to australia they sometimes don't have fibre at all lol even in cities. It's a joke
There is not nearly as much smoking as went on in, say, the 1990s and the smoking rate is down around 15% of the population now. Auckland is also known as the "City of Volcanos" on the account of it being on top of about 50-60 volcanos with the most obvious being Rangitoto island.
Great insight into my home country You discribed nz very well I have lived in many places around the world but heading home (auckland) in december No better place and am very lucky to be a kiwi
bullshit about wifi or cell coverage for Auckland. Prepaid mobile is $20.00 dollars nz per month and a sim card is a couple a bucks which gives you data, txt and landline calls - different providers offer different deals and in most cities in N.Z there is free wifi spots, some unlimited data some have data or time caps. South island can be patchy for cell coverage with no cell coverage on west coast
Omkar Upadhye in public spaces there are sometimes free WiFi networks like “Auckland airport” or just “Auckland city” and I just found them to be slow and spotty compared to WiFi in the states. Cafes are usually great though, and if you have a data plan you’ll be fine! If you are traveling around the country a lot though like driving in the South Island there will be dead zones cuz you’ll be super immersed in nature.
The WORST thing about living in the suburban areas of Auckland (or usually everywhere in Auckland) are the crazy, drunk, wanna-be-cool people who scream at night, constantly swear each sentence they say, constant all-night parties with blasting music etc.
You can blame the deregulation of alcohol laws making it so readily available. You would have to stop the sale of alcohol in the supermarkets and have it only sold in licensed premise like bars and restaurants for that to change. Alcohol ban laws don't work, I see people walking around town with open bottles all the time.
I'm a NZ citizen in Auckland for 25 years and have never once smelled urine anywhere! And in USA people smoke like chimneys! I've lived in USA for nearly 3 years. So, my dear, I don't agree with that! But I liked all the good things you mentioned and it's obvious you liked it much😊. I like your outgoing friendly manner. Good video.
you will have so much fun! I'm excited for you! if you want to check it out, i just uploaded a video about a day in my life at university of auckland! thanks for watching!
I'm really entized by the stories I heard from the backpackers that came from NZ. It is also closely connected to my homecountry since it was discovered by a Dutchman and there are many Dutch people who migrated to this place in the 50s.
Thank you! I subscribed you back, thank you for watching my video and for the support! I'm actually back in NZ now again traveling for a month, and will be uploading a lot more videos when I get back to the states but let me know if you have questions or recommendations/ tips/ anything! YOU WILL HAVE THE BEST TIME! I love New Zealand and get so excited telling people about it haha!
Thank you so much. We love to live in NZ but unfortunately didn't work maybe someday ;-). Would love to watch more videos and can't wait. Thank s so much.
Living in Germany, originally from Turkey. New Zealand is such an interesting country for me, especially regarding the beauty of nature and the weather + people. Don't make fun of me, but nature, the very same reason it is looks so beautiful over there, could be my nightmare if New Zealand is similar to Australia in terms of having those gazillions of weird centipedes and spiders :) I have a phobia against crawlies, and it has nothing to do if they are deadly or not :))
I’ve lived in NZ for over 15 years until 2003, successful business man, but I always wanted leave NZ, then left successfully that year. I still go there twice a year for my business. Because I am a Japanese, 5’ 4” tall, and not speaking English well, the discrimination to Asian is worse than America. For example, white girl stick up her middle finger to me, I was just driving my car and parked at intersection waiting for green light. Another bad is Maori bus driver purposely scared me and my employee were crossing intersection. Then laughing. My another employee got argument with white guy, he suddenly punched my employee and bleeding. then called a police. Police said that this is not a police matter, not help at all. Soon later days, he and his wife left NZ, although he has permanent residence visa. I can’t tell all bad experience because I am Asian. I got my 3 cars stolen, many of my employees got experience broken their cars. It seems like NZ whites are very kind to young Asians, but not guys especially not speaking English well. So your case, young and beautiful , speaking American accent, is fresh to them. So you admire NZ good, but not to many of Asian men. So those Asians are sticking with same nationality. But again, this is all dependent on people. Kazunari
hi kaz, first of all thank you so much for watching and commenting, i really appreciate your insight, as it is so important to have different perspectives. i am so sorry for just commenting now, i did not see the original comment for some reason! but i actually live in Japan now and it is actually probably much safer/ or at least more polite here in Japan, despite the larger population. i have definitely heard some things about discrimination against asians being really bad in New Zealand, which makes me really sad as well, just because they cannot speak English well, it is no reason to be discriminatory or be mean and violent. i hope you are living somewhere that life is easier for you now!
I am so happy you like my home country... although I'm more further down south but still in the north island. Auckland isn't amazing with its smells but the is an amazing place... pokeno ice creams are the best
Where are you from? I've been all over haha, I actually have been back traveling the south island as well! Auckland isn't my favorite place in NZ but it was where I lived so obviously I had to love it!
Lovely area, really! Hamilton gardens are beautiful, I did a fun little Vlog there haha. I liked it a lot, I went during Balloons over Waikato! SO lucky to live there!
I've been to New Zealand, mainly in Auckland, for 5 months in 2015 it's cool to see that in your opinion there are many smokers in NZ, whereas in my opinion there were very few. Different cultures, different habits, different views.
61percentodicarica thanks for commenting! I'm glad you found that interesting, and I totally agree; it's all a matter of perspective and different cultures and experiences. I should have clarified that I encountered many smokers in the downtown area of the city, and I also don't live in a city back home so that definitely contributed to my unfamiliarity with seeing so many people smoke
Ive liven in NZ my whole life and travelled a lot within the country, lived in Auckland Christchurch and the Waikato, driven from Auckland to Taranaki and New Plymouth, Christchurch to Blenheim etc its great
I am from Auckland, but I wouldn't want to live there anymore. It has changed too much from the city I knew as a child. It used to be so peaceful, clean, homogenous and quirky - now it's the antithesis.
thanks for watching and commenting! I'm assuming you mean how did I study abroad in New Zealand? If so, it was an exchange with my university but the program was called TEAN abroad
clearly you havent spent any time in the south island as wifi is prerry good , Auckland sucks but gets the most attention, spend time in Christchurch and youd have a while different experiance
Kia Ora! Some of what you may say is true! But as a Maori its not so much a pretty picture☹️ You see, the government tends to pay more attention to the tourists and refugees. While doing this, there is less attention on Maori and their wishes and RIGHTS to New Zealand. Im sorry for speaking the truth, but even though some of these comments are unnecessary and a bit taken out of proportion, I deeply feel they’re just angry and hurt🌷So apologies on my behalf, Awesome video xx
i haven't been to hawaii yet, but I'm dying to go! I'd love to live in Japan some day, but definitely if you have the chance to visit NZ, you should, its amazing!
Besides Auckland having the largest concentration of Polynesians in the world and Hawaii also having a large Polynesian population it's not that much alike. I've been to Hawaii and if there's another place I've been to I'd liken it to it would be the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia.
avilik13 geographically parts of New Zealand are. There’s the Bay Of Islands and most of Northland, The Bay Of Plenty, some of the islands around the northern half. The upper north island is geographically similar
Castiel not really. Hawaii is more similar to other Pacific Islands. New Zealand does have those "summer" destinations but I can still tell Bay of Plenty etc. are warm places in a generally cool country, you know? I've been to Hawaii a few times and besides the people and Polynesian culture nothing really reminded me of New Zealand. Waikiki did remind me of the GC though.
i went to christchurch last march and stayed in new zealand for 5mos and it was the best travel destination for me so far but i kinda agree with those issues youve encountered but thats okay hehe!
Miki T ya I went back again for a month this year and stayed in Christchurch for some of it! Really liked it too. New Zealand in general is probably my favorite country !
guess who aww thank you! That honestly means so much to me, I feel so at home here! I'm actually back right now haha I've been backpacking with a friend, we've stayed about a month! I've tried to film a lot as well and will be getting videos from that up soon, so hopefully you'll watch those when they come out :)
omg, i am so sorry i am just seeing this comment now! first of all, thank you for watching and commenting and subscribing! i am living in Japan now, so i can make a video about this for sure, if you are still interested. it is always so fun to see what different countries have and don't have!
You are so nice and inspiring!!! I love you!!! I’m going to New Zealand next summer and I can’t wait❤️🇳🇿, thank you so much for this cool video I wish you only the best and thank you so much!!! love you!
Hey, @moeyday or +moeyday, may I ask… were there many adult students from abroad at University of Auckland while you were there? Like, maybe anyone over 30? I’m thinking of trying to go there for a graduate degree, but it looks like because the New Zealand system is so different from the USA’s, I might have to repeat an undergraduate year there. Would a student who’s over 35 years old stick out like a sore thumb? Thanks! 🤗
Ricky Tenderkiss hey! Thanks for watching and commenting! there were definitely older students, so you wouldn’t stick out for sure! There’s a mix of undergrad and graduate and the campus is pretty integrated into the surrounding city so you could connect with people of all ages pretty easily! Hope you get the chance to go, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
@moeyday - Yay! Phew, thank you so much, that’s very encouraging!! Love your video, thanks for the reply, and I hope you get to keep traveling the world!!
1:36 you mentioned bare feet. In the UK many places such as restaurants and supermarkets don't allow bare feet. Nearly all workplaces and schools 'sensible' footwear is required. While walking barefoot in public in the UK is actually legal, many people regard it as either curious, odd, weird, offensive, fascinating, ridiculous...take your pick. I'm a UK barefooter so I know. A few people have noticed and very kindly chatted about my being barefoot, the reasons, etc. But such British people are needles in a bigoted haystack. My supervisor took me to one side and asked I submit to footwear or threatened with leaving the premises, like a common criminal. Meanwhile, I'd previously seen drama students and a couple of teachers without shoes, walking the corridors! My one consolation is that New Zealanders are more fair and understanding than my (cough!) fellow countrymen.
thank you so much for your kind comment! i came back last month to visit and it was beautiful as ever! hope to continue visiting as much as i can and maybe even some day live there! :) thanks for watching my video!
I live in nz and lots of people are NOT friendly, I got bullied on bus when going to school, and this guy was beating up the shop owners at the fish and chip shop and grafting on the windows
I'm really sad to hear that. Of course, I know there's nowhere that everyone is friendly, but I meant relatively to a lot of places in the US, like where I'm from, people in New Zealand GENERALLY are much more polite and approachable and like to talk to strangers. That kind of thing doesn't really happen much in Boston
Ah man, do you live in Auckland? I'm starting high school in a few days and I've got to take the bus after a week and I don't exactly want to get bullied
I was bullied my young life in NZ for being intelligent and for being gay. NZ is a very masculine culture where they gang up against anything different. It was horrifying. I’m not even particularly feminine, I’m reasonably good looking and I have good social skills. Didn’t save me! Get out while you can. It’s a very backwards culture but foreigners don’t see it because they see the ‘friendly’ veneer.
Tbh most of the cigarette smell in Auckland probably comes from the large Asian population, who are overwhelmingly smokers if they're under 50 (like most of the students). In Wellington, smokers are not very common and get rather looked down upon as we have an army of hipsters with their fruity-smelling vapes instead.
Michael Heliotis - I disagree that not many people smoke in Wellington. I live/grew up in Christchurch. I've lived in 4 cities around the world & I've never come across as many people smoking as I did when I lived in Wellington.
As a Kiwi living overseas, nothing as changed as far as some of our people having a chip on their shoulders, always bagging people, bitter and twisted souls that can't see the good in anything,or be happy for others,i see it every time i go home,or online, none of these idiots have even started to grow up,so disappointing.
Thorfinn986_doesn't_do_average Hi, thanks for watching and commenting! I’m glad that your experience living overseas has given you perspective, as I also became a lot more open minded after going abroad. I agree that there’s always a handful of negative people that feel the need to express their unhappy opinions from everywhere or haven’t grown up, but it’s always refreshing knowing there are more out there who value different opinions and do want the best for people and respect others. Hopefully the others will follow suit some day!
I don’t get how at 9:10 she says weather can be unpredictable that’s true but the video is about Auckland I live in Auckland and it doesn’t snow at all like never snows I’m not trying to point out the little things and she does live in America and it snows there but people watch this and think it snows here but it doesn’t just saying
Ieva Mae I apologize if it seems I was misleading people, I was trying to make it clear that due to New Zealand’s location anything can happen. It has snowed in Auckland before, the last time was 2011. But more than anything I was just trying to say weather changes very quickly
moeyday not trying to be a know it all but when people said it had snowed in Auckland it was actually sleet which is ice and rain together I don’t want to come across as a hater I actually have watched some of your videos and I’m subscribed I just wanted to make it clear to people who haven’t been to Auckland that it hasn’t snowed since 1976
Do Thuylinh I lived in a flat provided by Auckland Uni! It was called Carlaw! I have a separate video about it called A Day in My Life at Auckland university
Some of the comments are just shocking. I lived in Dubai, U.S and now in New Zealand, Auckland for the past 6years now. New Zealand is by far the cleanest place I have lived so far! Only the smell of urine is prevelent in the CBD due to homeless people but apart from the CBD it's clean as can be!
I definitely could have and a lot of people did, but I didn't really have money and didn't think it was worth the investment based on the amount of time I had. I was just relaying my experience
hello! Hardly ever but you can see snow somewhat near Auckland in the mountains a few hours south. Specifically, Mount Ruapehu is one that you can ski!
Worst, housing (everyone knows the rent is as high as the sky city tower). Best, love the laidback vibe lifestyle even when I’m living in Auckland, reminds me of my hometown in Iloilo Philippines.
New Zealand sound like a gentle land far away.
i love this description
It ain't 😂😂
Size of Japan or UK.
Population (total) of a medium sized city.

yeah it shames me to just the level of racism towards her and other asians just because they are asian
i hope not

thank you! you're so lucky! amazing country, really, i love it so much!

You havent smelt Rotorua then
haha i did; its definitely worse there
Nyah yea lol it smells so gross but you will get used to it I live in Hamilton New Zealand
Doglover 65 Hamilton was beautiful! I went for a few days and stayed at a lovely air bnb with an elderly woman for the balloons over Waikato! Also saw the Hamilton gardens which were absolutely beautiful! Waikato museum was very cool as well. What a great little area !
lmao I agree, I goto hot pools that smell nearly as bad as Rotorua
My nana lives there and it reeks.... but I get used to it

go to london, my girl. you'll love nz after u visit that place
Word!
I'm planning on studying in Auckland this year, and this video helped me so much!! I was worried it was a "no nature" kind of city. Thank you :)
wooooow that so couldnt be further from the truth
How is it so far? :-)

Yeah one essential item you need in New Zealand is a raincoat.
when she said yu can go hours down the road
umm did yu go out of Auckland?
yes i did haha i went all around the country
Did you go to the outer city areas of Auckland like the place where you hop onto the ferries to arrive at Kawau island, because those roads are usually empty.
basically one hour in all directions from Auckland city you'll be outside of Auckland boundaries .

Nice video! Thank you for your tips! Love from Holland
Thanks so much for the comment! Enjoy NZ if you head over there :)
Does anybody just search up new Zealand on every social media sights just to grow you Ego
girl, about internet connection, it's so easy, you just don't know or maybe you just need a little bit use google search the internet provider who offer the cheapest deal.
She's referring to FREE public wifis in the city. paid internet in NZ is really fast :)
LOVE your room!!
If you're travelling the country, the libraries out of Auckland have good wifi; usually unlimited and free
Awesome:) I live in Auckland! But Boston would rad as to visit - it's my list for sure!
I live in Rio de Janeiro city but I love Auckland city!😍
Davy izidoro I would love to come to Rio de Janeiro, it seems gorgeous! And yes, in glad you love Auckland too! It's my second home ❤️
Just a question ,when you said friendly" do you mean the backpacker people or Nz people?
In my experience, both!!
I’m so jealous, I wish I lived there
I live in new zealand and I never have WiFi issues. What phone plan did you go with? Did you buy a home WiFi plan with a router? We have unlimited fibre for $80 a month and it's fast as hell. Wait until you go to australia they sometimes don't have fibre at all lol even in cities. It's a joke
I think she meant free wifi out and about
80$??? WTF? In France, Wifi is about 67$ maximum!
+BlueJohnXD Oh ok
+Emilie L Well that's france people aren't greedy
It depends. There are greedy people. It may depend on the internet providers' possibility to give you good wifi.
cool review maam hope you come back for another vacation nice reveiw \o/
The shoes thing is we have a free spirit ..do what you want ..don’t worry what others may think..
I love that so much!!
Great video! I used to live in Tutukaka which is right near poor knights now I live in Auckland
I loved poor knights!!! Hope you enjoy living in Auckland! I miss New Zealand so much
There is not nearly as much smoking as went on in, say, the 1990s and the smoking rate is down around 15% of the population now. Auckland is also known as the "City of Volcanos" on the account of it being on top of about 50-60 volcanos with the most obvious being Rangitoto island.
Great insight into my home country
You discribed nz very well
I have lived in many places around the world but heading home (auckland) in december
No better place and am very lucky to be a kiwi
Born and breed in NZ so proud of my country hope you come back
Auckland weather is bipolar tbh hahaha it never makes up its mind but it never snows so you wont have to put on ten outfits at once to keep warm
haha agreed! it's always adventure going outside, you'll probably get all seasons in one day!
You're welcome back anytime. Sorry about the wifi. 😬
definitely worth it haha!
bullshit about wifi or cell coverage for Auckland.
Don’t need wifi you can just go outside and if it’s raining in New Zealand no one cares so yea
Cool! Can you elaborate more on Wi-Fi or any New Zealander could? We are coming there by March'19 , Cheers!
You will have a great time regardless, so enjoy!!!
The WORST thing about living in the suburban areas of Auckland (or usually everywhere in Auckland) are the crazy, drunk, wanna-be-cool people who scream at night, constantly swear each sentence they say, constant all-night parties with blasting music etc.
That is so true. I was just thinking about commenting about that until I saw yours.
You can blame the deregulation of alcohol laws making it so readily available. You would have to stop the sale of alcohol in the supermarkets and have it only sold in licensed premise like bars and restaurants for that to change. Alcohol ban laws don't work, I see people walking around town with open bottles all the time.
Remuera, St Heliers, Freemans Bay have some of the citys nastiest people.
Ross White define ghetto, Ikn many people from the “ghetto” who have way better personalities and morals than ignorant “proper” individuals.
YES IKR!!!
Good video.
Can't wait to go study abroad in University of Auckland after watching your video!
you will have so much fun! I'm excited for you! if you want to check it out, i just uploaded a video about a day in my life at university of auckland! thanks for watching!
I just finished it and it was GREAT!!!
I'm really entized by the stories I heard from the backpackers that came from NZ. It is also closely connected to my homecountry since it was discovered by a Dutchman and there are many Dutch people who migrated to this place in the 50s.
I’m an Auckland’s and I love that fact!!!
Hello from Auckland, glad you had good time in New Zealand :-)
Kimi Browne aww hello!! Missing it every day. My best friend still lives there :)
Awesome video. It's very helpful. We are planning to visit New Zealand. Thanks for sharing. I support your channel #623 and liked.
I love New Zealand because were I live we have a Starbucks next to the beach, and you can walk in in your togs
Kazunari
Yikes 😬
hi kaz, first of all thank you so much for watching and commenting, i really appreciate your insight, as it is so important to have different perspectives. i am so sorry for just commenting now, i did not see the original comment for some reason! but i actually live in Japan now and it is actually probably much safer/ or at least more polite here in Japan, despite the larger population. i have definitely heard some things about discrimination against asians being really bad in New Zealand, which makes me really sad as well, just because they cannot speak English well, it is no reason to be discriminatory or be mean and violent. i hope you are living somewhere that life is easier for you now!
U’re right about the weather in Auckland :))
Yep. WiFi is garbage unless you have your own. Public WiFi even when working is relatively slow in comparison too.
I am so happy you like my home country... although I'm more further down south but still in the north island. Auckland isn't amazing with its smells but the is an amazing place... pokeno ice creams are the best
Where are you from? I've been all over haha, I actually have been back traveling the south island as well! Auckland isn't my favorite place in NZ but it was where I lived so obviously I had to love it!
moeyday I'm around Hamilton and it is honestly awesome so much to do
Lovely area, really! Hamilton gardens are beautiful, I did a fun little Vlog there haha. I liked it a lot, I went during Balloons over Waikato! SO lucky to live there!
I've been to New Zealand, mainly in Auckland, for 5 months in 2015
it's cool to see that in your opinion there are many smokers in NZ, whereas in my opinion there were very few. Different cultures, different habits, different views.
btw I agree with all the rest. That place truly changed me.
It's far from America but closer to Asia...I have travelled to many countries around the world including the US and I think wifi in NZ is very good..
Ive liven in NZ my whole life and travelled a lot within the country, lived in Auckland Christchurch and the Waikato, driven from Auckland to Taranaki and New Plymouth, Christchurch to Blenheim etc its great
I've been almost all of those places except Taranaki! I wanted to hike Mt. Taranaki but the weather was too bad lol! Someday!
moeyday the hike up Mt. Taranaki is beautiful! You honestly do have to try it
Amy Leah Stewart ahhh I guess I'll have to come back to NZ a third time now to finally do it!
You have a nice channel. I have subscribed.
I am from Auckland, but I wouldn't want to live there anymore. It has changed too much from the city I knew as a child. It used to be so peaceful, clean, homogenous and quirky - now it's the antithesis.
In what ways does Auckland have changed?
Aguafria, I could not agree more. It is so sad how much Auckland, and even New Zealand as a whole, has changed for the worst in the past decade/s.
Did you direct enroll or go through a provider?
thanks for watching and commenting! I'm assuming you mean how did I study abroad in New Zealand? If so, it was an exchange with my university but the program was called TEAN abroad
Tbh the wifi in Nz isn’t that bad from what I know 😂
I'm from nz the no shoe one is so perfect hahah
Gurrrlll, I feel! THE NZ WEATHER IS BIPOLAR AFFFFFF. I swear I hate it soooooo much😩😩😩😩us, New Zealanders hate it sooo much
Faith Pillissi I cant believe I saw you comment on this😂😂😂😂😂
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Lol in Taranaki, it's rainy and the news reporter tells us that it's gonna be sunny it's so flipping annoying
I kinda like it
go to taupo it's rains everyday
would you come back to live in new zealand?
Loved this so much
clearly you havent spent any time in the south island as wifi is prerry good , Auckland sucks but gets the most attention,
spend time in Christchurch and youd have a while different experiance
Poppy Productions Christchurch is full of earthquakes that’s why people don’t go there it’s overrated
Kia Ora! Some of what you may say is true! But as a Maori its not so much a pretty picture☹️ You see, the government tends to pay more attention to the tourists and refugees. While doing this, there is less attention on Maori and their wishes and RIGHTS to New Zealand. Im sorry for speaking the truth, but even though some of these comments are unnecessary and a bit taken out of proportion, I deeply feel they’re just angry and hurt🌷So apologies on my behalf, Awesome video xx
hello dear, see you on Auckland i hope that we collab someday when i go in nz :))
How do you handle a 6 hour hike? I can handle a 6 hour drive. 😁
much love from internet people
I’m from Japan and was raised in Washington state and Hawaii and I feel like New Zealand would be a bigger version of Hawaii haha.
i haven't been to hawaii yet, but I'm dying to go! I'd love to live in Japan some day, but definitely if you have the chance to visit NZ, you should, its amazing!
No
Besides Auckland having the largest concentration of Polynesians in the world and Hawaii also having a large Polynesian population it's not that much alike.
Comeback to NZ one day, ur personality fits right in... glad u liked it though 😊 new subscriber.
guess who aww thank you! That honestly means so much to me, I feel so at home here! I'm actually back right now haha I've been backpacking with a friend, we've stayed about a month! I've tried to film a lot as well and will be getting videos from that up soon, so hopefully you'll watch those when they come out :)
moeyday oh nice to know 😂 and you're most welcome, I'll definitely be looking out for the new content 😊 enjoy the rest of ur night, and be safe. X
guess who thank you for watching/subscribing! Take care!
Thanks moeday for this video we really like it. See you then.
New subscriber here! Can you do a video on candy, technology & things America don't have?
omg, i am so sorry i am just seeing this comment now! first of all, thank you for watching and commenting and subscribing! i am living in Japan now, so i can make a video about this for sure, if you are still interested. it is always so fun to see what different countries have and don't have!
Well if you think it’s not dangerous I think you should think again
great Video. I am fron Brazil and in june I am going to auckland. I can't wait for that.
I live in Auckland, New Zealand. Before I was born. I am 10 now. Cool
JAFA
You are so nice and inspiring!!! I love you!!! I’m going to New Zealand next summer and I can’t wait❤️🇳🇿, thank you so much for this cool video I wish you only the best and thank you so much!!! love you!
thank you so much for the comment :) i really appreciate it! I'm glad it was useful haha i honestly love NZ its my fave place! you will have a blast!
Ricky Tenderkiss thank you :) me too!!
Actually lots of us New Zealanders hate people without shoes. Get some class! It’s disgusting.
I live in Auckland! Although where I live it doesn’t smell. Only the city.
I'm jealous! It obviously doesn't smell everywhere hahaha I definitely didn't mean to offend!
Would love to have you back in New Zealand . . . Such a positive person . . . Thanks for your honesty and words . .
thank you so much for your kind comment! i came back last month to visit and it was beautiful as ever! hope to continue visiting as much as i can and maybe even some day live there!
Anti asian sentiment is quite bad, racial slurs aren't even looked down upon in a lot of places in NZ
Bourbon drinking bogans are more if an issue
Have u been to f**King aussie they have way more smokers
Hello! Great video!
Less than 1 in a 100 walks around barefoot in Auckland! What are you talking about? Bad Wifi? Where have you been?
I agree, I don't have bad wifi.
@@moeyday Me too mate,it would be a good time to be alive haha.
I want to go to New Zealand.
what to do ??
@Moon The Umbreon nz sucks. Its not worth visiting, fk your overrated sh1thole
But more than anything I was just trying to say weather changes very quickly
moeyday not trying to be a know it all but when people said it had snowed in Auckland it was actually sleet which is ice and rain together I don’t want to come across as a hater I actually have watched some of your videos and I’m subscribed I just wanted to make it clear to people who haven’t been to Auckland that it hasn’t snowed since 1976
I love rain...So I should have born in NZ...lol😛😛
The best thing in NZ is the south East Asian beautiful people
Where did u live in CBD? Dorm or hostel or apartment?
Do Thuylinh I lived in a flat provided by Auckland Uni! It was called Carlaw! I have a separate video about it called A Day in My Life at Auckland university
Some of the comments are just shocking. I lived in Dubai, U.S and now in New Zealand, Auckland for the past 6years now. New Zealand is by far the cleanest place I have lived so far! Only the smell of urine is prevelent in the CBD due to homeless people but apart from the CBD it's clean as can be!
hey !!! love to know how u feeling going to ayckland after dubai. me nd my family are looking forward to shift there.
i'm from Auckland in New Zealand! and still am
1st world problems, we got free wifi in the train stations here in Akl so still better than other cities
I live in australia.. i miss NZ big time!
Jealous! Where in Australia! I just traveled some of the East Coast! Videos coming soon, I love it there too!
You must come back.
Thanks for the info but can you not buy a bicycle ?
I definitely could have and a lot of people did, but I didn't really have money and didn't think it was worth the investment based on the amount of time I had. I was just relaying my experience
Heyy does is snow in auckland? :)
hello! Hardly ever but you can see snow somewhat near Auckland in the mountains a few hours south. Specifically, Mount Ruapehu is one that you can ski!
Never. Auckland and areas further north are more of a sub tropical climate.
I think you haven't been to Rotorua
Worst, housing (everyone knows the rent is as high as the sky city tower). Best, love the laidback vibe lifestyle even when I’m living in Auckland, reminds me of my hometown in Iloilo Philippines.
lol ikr public wifi sucks... the best wifi is like mcdonalds or burgerking😂
seriously! hahaha gotta love those fast food wifi places. lots of cafes are good as well!
