If city wants tax money, ppl need to work, subways get ppl to work, city has more of a reason to pay for the subway than anyone else id think, probably originally meant to keep homeless off of it if anything but as i said, city depends on it and id assume allot of the zoning makes it somewhat of a requirement for work with how population is condensed, heck city should pay for it plus give tax write-offs for using it to get to work and not congesting or damaging the roads, imagine that cost if everyone taking it back and forth had to drive and the infrastructure required let alone upkeep.

I live in winnipeg Canada, and we see the same thing on the busses. Addicts get on free, pepper spray passengers, scream, fight, etc. I don't know about anyone else but I'm so sick and tired of these losers.
I left NYC because of the subway safety, general safety, and everything was extremely expensive. I have zero desire to visit NYC ever again. Especially when Hocol lets in illegals and does not prosecute criminals.
Did you call the hundreds of thousands of Russians who came here in the 90s or the thousands of Albanians who came at the same time illegals? What's the difference now?

So NYC is slowly going back to Mayor Giuliani’s policies when he turned the city around in the 90’s. But shhhh - don’t admit he was right about his broken windows policy.
Because it's a celebrity tourist trap just like L.A. They pull people in with the number of famous people that pass through and sell people on the dream of being able to "make it big." Stupid people are their own worst enemy
People still want to live there for whatever reason. It's the law of supply and demand. During the pandemic when people were leaving rents dropped, now it's the opposite.
There is no justification. If they can charge the price and people pay that becomes the norm. It's called willingness to pay and landlords use that to gauge how high they can run their profit margins higher.
The landlords are not the problem, they are mostly victims of the voters who vote for the incompetent government so long as the politicians promise to solve problems by making someone else pay.
@DynamiteBigB, yep but apparently if you're a Democrat "elitist" like EJ Carroll falsely accusing former Prez Trump (she said on CNN "It was never about sex, Trump never touched me!" but Trump's lawyers were NOT ALLOWED to show that video in court) and during the trial in NY you stupidly open your mouth and say, "I have an unlicensed firearm in my possession!!", you can "...possess that firearm illegally and the Police just take the gun and nothing happens to you." Whereas ordinary citizens would be facing jail time. Typical of trash Democrat "two-tiered justice."
The Democrats and Joe Biden want to make sure criminals have the illegal guns but don't want law abiding citizens to have one But 99% of these crimes are being committed by illegal guns..
448,000 people didn't pay today... that's almost $1.3 million USD PER DAY of lost revenue. And the MTA has the balls to say they need $15 from every working person driving a car? These people aren't even using the train and paying the fare FIVE TIMES. People who steal, fight and murder ride the train for free, while taxpayers who are actually contributing to the economy, foot their bill. You don't have to wonder why the city is losing its educated middle class, and only receiving homeless, jobless migrants as newcomers. You can back these up with numbers. NYC lost 500k permanent residents since the pandemic. The policies we have emboldened our legislators to support are ruining our quality of life, across the board.
Driving the middle class out of NYC is part of the agenda i.e. a massive brain drain. A 2 class system - You're either rich or poor, there'll be no inbetween anymore. The poor will be more dependent on the government (i.e. the welfare system) the unemployed in particular. It's about fear, obedience and dependency.
This is an issue in Canada too. The city where I live literally had a campaign asking citizens to confront those doing the crimes on transit, only for the police to come out and tell people not to do it. You’re not allowed to carry anything for self defense. It’s a complete joke.
That's not true, you can defend yourself, all those'policies' that say you can't are meant to t trick stupid powwow into giving up Thier rights, if you know how to hold an actual civil court with a jury of your peers, which is what you are entitled to, no one will take the side of a criminal who has trespassed sharia you in court.
If it’s the plan, are you suggesting that it shouldn’t be? How would you realistically police a completely degenerate population in all areas at the same time? With these sorts of demographics, most traditional solutions go out the window.
In Japan, where I live, you jump the turnstile you’ll get arrested wherever you get off. They have loads of hidden CC cameras here and when they catch you they prosecute heavy. Make consequences relevant again.

"When Society fails to punish minor crimes, bigger crimes are on the way" That was exactly what the "Broken Windows" theory was all about. BRING IT BACK!!
Extra policing and arrests won’t make a bit of difference if the prosecutors don’t prosecute, or the judges let them go immediately. Not to mention no punishment for breaking the law. Maybe it’s time to institute the “three strike rule”.
The lack of s prison system is why in the olden days corporeal snd shaming punishments was used. So if you jump the fare and end up in the stocks at the entrance of the station for hours on end you may think twice about doing it again.

So they're radically increasing taxes and fees on law abiding folks to cover thecosts of criminality, and the only "solutions" they can imagine to try and deal with crime involve incredibly expensive technology that tracks every person everywhere. Orwell was an optimist.
The city could be a utopia and they still would have risen it. Fares went from $1.00 to $2.25 under Lord Berg n' Guili. They needed to fund their gimp suit cigar puffing parties and the reconstruction of the towers some how.
So sad to see the place in decline again. As a Brit, I grew up hearing tales of how rough NY used to be in the 70s and 80s, but in the summer of '99 I spent a couple of weeks there doing the whole tourist thing, and I loved it. Sure, you'd keep your street smarts about you as you would in any big city, but on the whole the place seemed to be running smoothly, it was fairly clean and tidy, and just had a good vibe about it. Happy times. As much as I've longed to go back again someday, looking at recent vids from the last 5 years, I don't think I will be. It's not just NY either. Congestion charging, rising crime, cost of living, just general increased crappiness, just look at any big city here in the UK.

My family lives in a place that has no underground rail at all. We took a vacation to Washington DC a couple years ago when our daughter was 12. It was absolutely insane how many people were jumping over the turnstiles. Our daughter eventually did ask how come we are paying for every ride when you can just ride for free like tons of other people are doing. And of course we explained about following the law and how things would crumble if nobody actually paid. And she agreed with all that, but I remember being 12, and I'm positive that part of her also thought that since a lot of other people are doing it, it must not be that bad. There have always been people jumping over turnstiles, but my wife and I were actually shocked at how commonplace it was in DC. I'm assuming it's probably worse in NYC. But the people evading fares are definitely not the kind of people who give a crap about infrastructure or things around them crumbling.
The people that commot those crimes don't care about anything. They are spiritually dead inside with spiritually dead souls. The have no conscience. They care about no one but themselves.
It makes a lot more sense when you realize they're not trying to save it. They're trying to depopulate it while extracting as much money as they possibly can in the process.
Keep shining a light on NYC woes. Eventually, the people will push back and things will change. Problem is...how long will this take and how bad will it get?
It will take a very long time. New Yorkers are usually very self-absorbed. They don't do anything unless it affects them directly. They will wait until they are assaulted, or one of their relatives gets murdered, then they will blame the police for not doing enough. And forget them changing their voting habits. NYC will continue to vote Democrat until the end of time. The fact that Rudy Giuliani was elected is a miracle really.
Unfortunately Ai will make it work sometimes. China has been working on this tech for finding specific people no matter how they try to change appearance.
I wonder if they are just as interested in monitoring the law abiding as they are the law breaking. Fail to pay a fine or taxes on time? Can't use the subway then.
Dubai has almost no crime, because they use facial recognition on every single corner. You could literally leave your laptop and wallet on the table in a coffee shop and go to the restroom and no one will dare touch it. I thought it would be weird having that level of security, but it didn’t really affect me at all since I wasn’t doing anything sketchy. It’s sad that we have to be under so much control in order to behave, but idk what else we can do at this point…things have gone too far.

I’m in New York pretty regularly and I usually end up taking the subway. It never ceases to amaze me how selfish these people are when I see them jump the turnstile.
So I was just in NYC for a 9 days, took the subway the entire time with my young children out to Brooklyn and back and saw none of this at all! No soldiers or fare dodgers
An entire generation taught they are entitled to basic necessities, and that other people should pay for it all. No wonder many of them don’t feel they have to pay.
I think the, “Iron Maidens”, can be used very effectively to capture and detain both fare-beaters and more serious criminals. They have to be used not as the exit turnstiles, but, the entrances. However, They can be used for exit also to prevent criminals from leaving the subway platforms after committing crimes. Any kind of data processing/reading equipment can be installed in the “Iron Maidens”. There can also be restraining equipment installed so the criminals are literally trapped between the “Iron Maiden” bars. That would be upon their entering or exiting the platform area. Those “Iron Maidens” are excellent potential criminal catchers. They can be technologically controlled any number of ways, including remotely, but, most conveniently by the personnel in the ticket booths who have the clearest understanding of what is going on.
New York is doing everything except putting criminals in jail. They be like "This guy who pulled out a knife, then a gun, then got shot with his own gun, what could be the correlation here? I got it! HE DIDN'T PAY HIS FARE!" 🤦yes, let's ignore the man with a violent criminal history and only focus on the fact that he didn't pay his fare.
Or even worse. People that shouldn't be in jail, are. and are taking up valuable space that could be used for the people that really belong there. Plus, if MTA wanted to really deal with fare evasion. All they would have to do is upgrade their turnstyles to the kind that they use over in Europe. Granted, it won't stop piggybacking. But the new system would cut fare evasion by about 97%.
You don't get it ... the violent people ARE the ones who don't pay their fare. Just like they also don't follow any traffic laws, which is one reason why we also need traffic stops.

I work as a bus driver for a company called greyhound, and they made us all take a mandatory seminar that was pretty much a 4 hour lecture on how we will get fired if we refuse to drive a bus with the intent of "migrant dumping". We even had politicians get on stage telling us that we were the "Angels of America", but in reality, i feel guilty when i see a news report of migrants doing terrible things to american citizens. I feel a responsibility to stand up and do something, but i know i will lose my retirement/pension if i do. Just last week a migrant urinated all over the inside of the bus I was driving because they were upset that they had to sit on the floor for the 4 hour ride (we were only 25 min in to the drive). We had another case were the migrants were "taking turns" on a woman while her husband collected money from everyone waiting their turn (this happened at the back of the bus where they had used bed sheets at the center of the bus to block the driver's veiw of what was happening back there.) Im not suprised these people behave this way. A female driver once had to drive a "migrant bus" and she refused to do so after seeing that 2 children were visibly pregnant. She called the police, and ended up losing her job over it. When the children were interviewed, they said that they were in their 20's, even though they were somewhere between the ages of 8 to 12 (driver showed us a photo that she took). Un-suprisungly the motherbof the two girls was pregnant as well.,,.
If they say you can't refuse to drive migrants busses, maybe drive the busses to the upper-middle class neighborhood and offload there where people making $150K+/yr who overwhelmingly support all this "humanitarianism" and "vote blue not matter who" can get a taste, since those are the people whose voice seems to matter.
That's crazy. Politicians from what state or city told you to do it? Oh- an 8 year old can't get pregnant unless she's had early puberty which is rare, but a 12 year old can, some 11 year olds, 10 year olds it's more rare. What kind of driver lets people curtain off part of the bus or block their view of people? Men could be gang-raping someone, covering their mouth or at knife or gun-point.

At this point you wonder what is the justification for the incredibly High rents in a city that doesn’t even protect It’s own residents?
Close to business headquarters and artificial housing scarcity
Remember, you can't defend yourself with a firearm in nyc but all those criminals sure can.

Whereas ordinary citizens would be facing jail time. Typical of trash Democrat "two-tiered justice."

Brilliant. Which is why it will never be allowed!

We had another case were the migrants were "taking turns" on a woman while her husband collected money from everyone waiting their turn (this happened at the back of the bus where they had used bed sheets at the center of the bus to block the driver's veiw of what was happening back there.)
Im not suprised these people behave this way.
I don’t think a lot of people genuinely understand how ignorance/culture differences impact the lives of USA citizens.
OMG we have to save ourselves by getting Biden/Harris OUT of OFFICE. I can't believe how depraved some people are.
Wow that is hard to even read, Im sorry your stuck in that situation.
Cash, you are the man! You've become my favorite creator on RUclips. Thank you!
Protection racket, plain and simple.
1. Withdraw your ability to protect yourself thru prosecution and regs.
2. Release criminals thru bail reforms.
3. Charge money to protect you from crime.

NYC continues to vote for Democrats. Predictable results. Same in other Democrat cities. Seems they'll never learn.
Just discovered you Cash. You are spot on. Ive never been or will visit NY but i hear the City gas problems. Good luck protecting those who cant move out. Remember what you vote for!
$700 MILLION? Did I hear that correctly? That is ridiculous. BUT it is even more ridiculous to arrest them and then just turn them loose. That is even more money thrown away.
It's nuts that NYC needs to rediscover the "broken windows theory."
Your channel has really evolved.. i loved coming to see the apartments, but the new style of content.. i grew up in NYC, its looking more and more like the 70's New York.. dangerous.. I used to ride the subway into downtown brooklyn daily to go to Brooklyn Tech, I couldnt imagine letting my own child do that...
if u grew up in the 70s u would know this is somewhat sensationalized. nyc after 2000-current is no where near as dangerous as it was in the 70s-90s..
I am Polish and I am horrified by what happened to the USA. Nightmare. Dirt, stench and poverty. For me personally, it is very sad, because as a student during communism, I dreamed of going to America, which for me was an incomparable symbol of democracy, freedom and wealth. Now I'm 71 years old. There are no illegal black immigrants from Africa in Poland, there are no thieves, hooligans, homeless people, drug addicts, beggars, and above all, our cities and villages are well-kept, clean, there is no garbage anywhere, and the streets are safe. Poles are a very hospitable nation, come to see that you can still live a normal life.
On several occasions i've been waiting for my son at the Jackson Heights train station, and I've seen over 20 people evading the train fair and there were police there. It is so frustrating!

If those they 'arrest' aren't going to be detained or pay fines, what exactly is the point other than to make it look like they are doing their jobs to reinforce law-abiders to do the same? Criminal acts are now directly tied to how well the city can monetize their acts. Wow...

The "other" technology that can track people is to check their phones and what they are connecting to wifi-wise. It's easier then you think to track someone that way.
but they are not Jan 6ther
That's why people are getting adblock programs. Too much malware hidden in the ads and your data is being sold. Some websites even have sneaking crap to make you end up into their malware sites. It's ludicrous that the internet has become more unsafe than ever because some law allowed your data to be sold and constantly tracked, making you vulnerable to any cyber attack.
