Of course, stores then have no choice but to go back to the counter store model where articles are fetched by the employees or some electronic toboggan filing system and no longer by the customer. You line up or better still you pass an order by phone and get an appointment. This would make polite employees in demand again. In many Apple stores you cannot get in and have a look at the products without an appointment.
Everyone should be permitted to walk into a store and take whatever they can carry out, pay if you can and if not, just walk out and pay later or not at all.
The movie demolition man told us that this was coming, back in the 80's, they want a country and a society that is strictly for the rich, wealthy and powerful!!!
And when everyone is rich, no one will be. People will be so rich that their perception of being poor is given a tight margin. You will be looked at as a slum for making $100,000,000 less than the billionaires you live with. Suddenly, the wealthy 1% will segregate themselves in order to maintain a sense of superiority. I wouldn’t be surprised if less people are alive in this system.
Fill out a new SS5 and uncheck us citizen and check other for citizenship on line five, then fill out a new W4 and check exempt, stop filing 1040 and 540, If IRS sends you a CP59 notice, check the box, not a us citizen and when FTB comes looking, tell them you are not a California resident, you are the people of California. The whole point of living in New York City is the ability to enjoy the city. How do you enjoy the city when you have no money or you’re working multiple jobs?
@crassgop “Enjoying the countryside” or “Live rurally and homestead” was always a myth sold to people who suffer from burnout. Ladies and gentlemen…if you’re riding the subway, get yourselves a can of hornet and wasp spray, the kind that sprays 20-30 ft. or so. Keep it in your large messenger bags. Keep the receipt in somewhere with your books or wallet so when the police question you about the spray you say you just forget you had the spray and receipt still with you. You remembered you still had the spray when you were being attacked and used it to defend yourself by spraying it into your attacker’s eyes so you could get away.
Along the same lines and regardless of which state you live in: If you are carrying a knife and the police ask you if you are carrying a weapon, it's important to say _"No, but I am carrying a knife that I use for utilitarian purposes."_ If they press you and ask if it's for self-defense, maintain that you only have it for utilitarian purposes and that it is not a weapon. The reason is that if you acknowledge that it is a weapon, or for self-defense purposes, they can get you for "concealed weapon" charges. This is also why the original comment about wasp spray was worded as it was.

I live in the desert southwest. One unintended and, frankly, *unwelcome* consequence of the outrageous cost of living in places like NY and California is that (too) many of the people fleeing from there have come to states like the one I reside in...and now OUR rents and cost of living are _also_ starting to go through the roof, bringing horrible financial stress and rising homelessness to long time residents (aka: the locals). This is something that needs to be fixed at the _federal level._ Otherwise, it will eventually come to some version of the French Revolution...with 21st century weapons. The rich should start paying attention, before their out-of-control greed makes them lose their heads...and no, that is _not_ a threat. That's a "heads up." _(all puns intended)_
I'm not condoning any sort of revolution. Should it happen? As Thomas Jefferson said "A little rebellion every now and then is a good thing". But realistically speaking it would be next to impossible. Do you think the average working class, untrained, citizen armed with only a r*fle or hand g*n would be able to thwart an attack of a 1B$ fighter/bomber or tank? Yes, numbers would be on the citizen's side but it would just be putting meat into the grinder. Just saying.
The wealthy want Manhattan, Brooklyn and parts of Queens for themselves. They want the working class that keeps the entire thing running to live the Bronx, SI and Jersey. They want everyone else gone.

Not saying I endorse or encourage crime. Absolutely not. But the flip side is, it costs money to operate a jail or prison. Taxes pay for that. The more people in prison the greater the tax burden. Not to mention spending for more police to stop the criminal only AFTER the crime has been committed. Pointless. Police don't really prevent a crime unless they are coincidentally at a potential crime scene when the potential criminal was about to commit said crime. Yes, if someone commits a crime they should be punished. But the underlying cause of them feeling the necessity to commit that crime should be addressed before the crime has been committed. Do I have a solution? Nah. I'm not a sociologist or economist. But society and economics, and for that matter education, are major factors in this. Edit: TL;DR treat the cause, not the symptoms.
@@kebonhawk1081 police absolutely prevent crime.. if police are allowed to arrest the criminals even after they do the crime and there is actually a real punishment people will be discouraged to try and commit said crime. Its not rocket science. Its all about discouraging bad people from doing bad things. As soon as you remove the punishment you remove the risk of committing the crime meaning people will gladly go do the crime. By having a city where criminals know they can go commit crime and never really be punished in any way that city is just going to attract the worst people all while good people are the ones who suffer. Yes theres a tax cost to keeping a prison running but also having that prison creates a safer environment for the people living in that city.
You can get rid of illegal murder if you legalize it (:

The movie demolition man told us that this was coming, back in the 80's, they want a country and a society that is strictly for the rich, wealthy and powerful!!!
And when everyone is rich, no one will be. People will be so rich that their perception of being poor is given a tight margin. You will be looked at as a slum for making $100,000,000 less than the billionaires you live with. Suddenly, the wealthy 1% will segregate themselves in order to maintain a sense of superiority. I wouldn’t be surprised if less people are alive in this system.
Welcome to California with colder weather. We're just like this. Our (idiotic) policies created a rich-poor society. It's dreadful.
Residents means alien. You are not an alien

The reason is that if you acknowledge that it is a weapon, or for self-defense purposes, they can get you for "concealed weapon" charges. This is also why the original comment about wasp spray was worded as it was.

With this minimum wage you don't have enough to eat let alone rent a room.
In Pennsylvania the minimum wage is $7.25! If you work 8hrs a day and 5 days a week that is the total of $290. Then taxes are taken out. You lucky if you made $200 for the week. That is $800 a month! Who tf can live off of that a month while raising children? This has gotten out of hand and everybody should be in the streets protesting.
@@vanesatenorio609Higher minimum wage = more inflation
Retailers were loosing money criminally prosecuting shoplifters for misdemeanors. They now record and track their theft. Thieves then, feel confident and steel from multiple locations. Once they reach $10K in theft, they call the police. They are charged and prosecuted with a felony.
@@shabeki there is no inflation. The numbers are being rigged to give an illusion of why they are stealing money. It's price gouging at this point. How did the pay of the CEO's these past 2 years, went up 200% more while minimum wage never went up? The rich are getting richer while middle class and the poor are taken the hit.

I used to go to NYC every year, for the Broadway shows, museums, food and shopping. I'm sorry that it's gone downhill 😔.
Cash, your ideas are always good. 78,000 leaving is equivalent to a small city being abandoned. I don’t think there is an easy answer to this.
The answer is to vote in another party that isn’t dem or Repub. but I kno that’ll never happen so enjoy the downfall.
My wife and I paid $60,000 in income tax 2 years ago while living in NYC.
Our combined salaries that equaled to a little over $200k was barely enough to live comfortably with transportation costs, rent, insurance, internet and electric bills, groceries and our teenage child.

This is something that needs to be fixed at the _federal level._
Otherwise, it will eventually come to some version of the French Revolution...with 21st century weapons. The rich should start paying attention, before their out-of-control greed makes them lose their heads...and no, that is _not_ a threat. That's a "heads up."
_(all puns intended)_
I'm not condoning any sort of revolution. Should it happen? As Thomas Jefferson said "A little rebellion every now and then is a good thing". But realistically speaking it would be next to impossible. Do you think the average working class, untrained, citizen armed with only a r*fle or hand g*n would be able to thwart an attack of a 1B$ fighter/bomber or tank?
Yes, numbers would be on the citizen's side but it would just be putting meat into the grinder.
Just saying.
The poor are lazy, so no revolution happening 😮
It went up everywhere
Adding insult to injury, most wages are significantly lower outside major coastal cities. There's less opportunity, period.

I can relate to you. The ELITS destroy us!!
Any major western city becomes optimized for landlord and tax income due to immigration. Eventually the middle class bails and the city becomes a shit hole full of foreigners who don't give a shit about anywhere other than their homeland.
My landlord in North London just put our rent up by 37% overnight. Needless to say my wife and I have been priced out. Do you know what the landlady said when I tried to negotiate a new contract with her. She told me "I can replace you with 6 immigrants by next week, I don't need to negotiate a lower price". At that moment I realised that I don't have a future I my city anymore. I lived in Yorkshire for 9 yrs as a young man, I will be heading North again.
I left NYC last November, used to live in Washington Heights. I was there for my graduate studies and once I graduated I tried maintaining a job there for a few months but I found it so depressing and not worth it that I just left.

I will gladly allow my tax dollars to go to anything that keeps my city safe, clean and operational. Specially if its a city i have to live in and wander about in every single day..
😂😂😂try and find that!
What happens when all the working class people leave? Who will make your coffee in the morning, your lunch at work? Who will clean the subway stations ... This is not a sustainable model.
The illegals. Literally.
Immigrants/migrants who are even more beholden to wage slavery.
The illegals for half less. Now you see the bigger picture? They don't want to up salaries only the housing & other costs of living. For the citizens who contribute to NYs function. With illegals, they can pay them much lower wages. In comparison to their country is a lot. Then, the politicians will ask for federal help. So they can appropriate or misappropiate the funds how they see fit.
