Hi! My name is Shyra of Queen City Minis. Learn how to make books using foam core, no-sew pillows, curtains and more for your dollhouse. All the items I make in this video are 1:12 scale but you can scale them up or down to work in your space.
I have been toiling away learning how to film and edit videos for RUclips. I have lots of projects planned ranging from abandoned miniatures to sculpted clay animals and Dollhouse Miniatures in multiple scales. I also have a large Harry Potter build planned for 1" scale.

Well these are just adorable and I'm barely into your tutorial, but I was too impatient to wait till the end of it. Lol. I relate, especially when I work with air-dry clay that has to wait 24 hours to dry! Beautiful work wonderful ideas. LOVE those books! Now I watch the rest of it. 😊

i Loved when you said you never wait for things to DRY! I thought it was just me! I struggle to be orderly on Camera! EVERYTHING WAS ADORABLE! LACE AND VELVET are my Favorites!
I'm always drying paint with my hair dryer and assembling items that have wet glue. It's not easy being so impatient!
@@queencityminis The Struggle is REAL! I have to talk to Myself/Little Gretchen," all the time regarding drying time.Hair drying is a great idea. I've seen people with heat guns, but blow dryer is PERFECT! Thanks for the tip!😀
Anytime :) If you watch my videos, you can see all the wet glue and wet paint while I handle things. I even glued the dyed flowers to the side of the Witch's cabin while the flowers were still wet 😆
@Little Gretchen's Workshop I was just about to say the exact same thing!! Hahaha So good to hear other crafters openly admitting they are too impatient to wait , I don't feel so bad now lol
I like the tips witb the aluminum foil, and as I said before, you are really an efficient person, impatient maybe as you said, but quite effective. Thank you for sharing, it gives a lot 😊
Glad it was helpful! I'm definitely efficient because of my impatience. Some miniaturists are willing to spend hours on one task, but I need to keep the crafting moving.

The books remind me of my fuzzy diary I had back in the early 90’s as a kid. They turned out so pretty.

lol. You did a wonderful job. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you for such a wonderful channel. I started with building half scale models from Hobby Lobby in November. I have completed 8 so far. You gave me the courage to throw out the instructions to number 9. I’m pretty much doing it from scratch. Just bought the kit for materials.

I have to admit I got a touch of crafters envy when I saw your lace stash. The craft hoarder in me immediately wanted to get MORE lace lol.
Hahaha it'll take me a while to use all that lace. Idk why I thought I could make a mini wedding gown. I don't have the patience.

So creative and good use of materials. Im impatient also. I do crafts with my sister, we started when we were really young, doing arts & crafts during summer vacation from school...at the school! Love it, got major impatience here too, but at my advanced age I should know better lol!. I liked and subbed, I have been having an on/off obsession with miniatures for decades and dont know how you escaped my attention. I like 12th scale and 18th just to be awkward!

And some of these techniques are already used to made tarps, kit-bags, canvas truck cargo covers, etc. Of course, mine are a bit tattered/torn/beat-up looking on purpose and were soaked in cold coffee for a bit and wrung out but you made it easy for me. My sister gave me a bag full of material scraps from her sewing...
I love when people give me things to use in my miniature craft. In my next video, I use some scrap leather a knife maker gave me.
Great ideas I loved the lamp shade. I made my vintage living room chairs and couch with that fabric.I love that color.

If you use the picture of the pattern pieces from the instructions you should be able to make miniature clothing. they look the right scale, but I haven't tried it yet.
That would probably work. I haven't made mini clothing (aside from an apron) bc I'm so impatient.

I use cornstarch water to make these take shape. Dummy me had to have the corrugated rubber pretty pleats to make curtains. I bought all 3 of them and now I can't find them. Wow what a hot mess. lol Have a great day
