- My recent bag purchase on Vestiare Collective was a fail again - but to be fair: part of it was my own fault. I ordered a preloved Fendi handbag on VC and as soon as the item arrived, I noticed it's way smaller, than I had expected it to be. In this video I unbox a vintage Fendi bag from Vestiarie Collective with you, show you the wear and tear it has and the reasons, why I was allowed to return this Vestiaire Collective Direct Shipping purchase.
Another VC fail, a failed preloved bag unboxing, but with a happy ending.

I have stopped buying from VC for these very reason - it's just so stressful going back and forth with them!! Glad they allowed you to rerurn❤
They really try their very best to NOT come to a solution, if one is not super persistent 🙄. I should stop shopping there for good aswell!
The customer service at VC is clearly tought to be persistent and deny as long as possible... not a nice feature! But great that in the end they allowed you to return it. In my eyes the handle thing should have been mentioned in the description and photos.
I wonder, if they get a training, to make returns as difficult as possible 😅🙈
I only had good experience with VC. Even when I had to return items which were shipped directly. I also had a problem that after their check up the condition of the bag was much worse.
Over the years I bought so much with them and had a lot of good experiences aswell.. but every once in a while, it’s not going that smooth 😅. Did they accept you can return that bag in worse condition right away? Or was it quite some writing back and forth, before they agreed to do a second check?

Oh my! Half the width is really off! I’m thinking if the film “This Is Spinal Tap”, and their interpretation of how big to make a stage prop of Stonehenge! (If you haven’t seen it, it’s a parody of a heavy metal band. The drawing of a stage prop of Stonehenge indicated inches instead of feet, and the prop was so small they had to get dwarves to dance around it, and Stonehenge was trampled on stage! 🤣.). So yes, accurate measurements make a difference!
I agree the glazing should have been disclosed in the description. It was very obvious and there’s no way someone didn’t see it!
I don’t know that film, but it sounds hilarious - and very suitable for my VC situation 😂. When will I finally stop shopping there for good?! 😅🙈🤦🏻♀️

As soon as I saw the envelope during the unboxing, I had flashbacks to severeal of my purchases on VC, all of them via direct shipping. the worst was a 400€ Gucci bag… I wonder what that person thought. and it had also several defects that were not listed, don’t know of they came from bad packaging, but I could thankfully return it…
Yes, to me the bag on the pictures also looks way bigger. Oh with that image of how to measure, the VC guys really shot themselves in the leg, as you say in german 😂 And that bag is not very good condition. It is in a nice condition, to wear for quite long, but you really see the wear it got, especially on the handles!
Glad that you found a good reason to return the bag. I also had such luck with a necklace, that looked way smaller and finer on the pictures and when it arrived, it was bigger and bulkier. I also went to measure and found a mismatch between description and reality, so thankfully I could also return it.

I even returned the bag in a box now, cause it felt so wrong to me, to send it in an envelope (and I definitely don’t want to put any further damage on it). I really don’t get, what some people are thinking 😅. Glad to hear, you were able to return these purchases aswell!
Looking at the pictures I also would have expected a large tote. I am not great at converting measurements on paper to bag sizes for some reason and find it helpful to see it on a person/model. Glad it worked out for you! And yes, the handles should definitely have been listed!
Good point, I prefer mod shots aswell, to get a better feeling for the size. (If there’s a model shot, I usually never check the measurements at all 😅🙈 unless something seems to be off)

Shopping at Vestiaire sounds really stressful! I've even heard celebrities and big name influencers (the unsponsored ones) complain about the customer service.
Yah, most unsponsored people unfortunately make a bad experience with them, sooner or later - and unfortunately VC seems to not really care, to change anything about it 😕
My recent experience with a listing on VC was quite similar (about wrong measurements). Luckily I noticed the bag looked more rectangular than squarish and I was sure the measurements must be wrong. The seller confirmed the measurements are totally different and said, she didn’t pay attention to this at all, as the measurements were added automatically once she chose the name of the bag from the drop down list. It’s quite common that people choose wrong model names of the bags on VC. Now I know I need to confirm every little thing before clicking the purchase button.
Sorry to read that, seems as if VC even „helps“ to put out wrong information 😅🙈. If I was a seller and a buyer would want to return an item, because I trusted VC with their measurements, which were wrong - I would be so mad! Luckily you noticed, before the purchase! Thank you for sharing that - one more think to look out for, when considering to buy on VC 😅🙈
I cannot assess size accurately from photographs, however good the photos are, unless a tape measure is shown. But it did look like a bigger bag to me. The handles do not look good to me. Vestiaire Collective does not have a good reputation these days! Thank you for the video!
I can not really imagine the size of a bag, even if I read the measurements 😅🙈. Modeling shots work the best for me to get a feeling of the size
