      I was just talking to a co-worker yesterday about how cool it would be to put one of these in an old 80's escort or ranger.

      @@christpuncher98 Just found out you asked. I went with a supercharger off an old Tbird from a junkyard. Only running 4 lbs of boost, so no need for an intercooler. Helps towing uphill.

    If you're ever feeling like running a standalone for this, Link makes an ECU that can control direct injectors. I think it's the Link 4+ or something like that.

    Thats sweet man. Lots of good tech. As you go along dont forget the mpg test and other stats. Total weight, dyno, and 1/4 mile. Just got mine driveable with stock 4.0 motor. Will drive it for the rest of this year then should have enough cash for the 2.3 eco and 10speed.

    • @muntsmotorsports
      @muntsmotorsports  2 года назад +3

      I will be doing an update video later on with a lot of that info, I did a short freeway mpg test, 120 miles, got 27mpg doing 75mph, would get better with 3.50 gears and lower speeds.

    Dude i wanna eco-boost my 1980's ranger! So cool to see somebody did the swap. I'd ecoboost my ranger, crank the HP to 450hp and then put a full nascar race car suspension under it and slam it to the ground. ( yeah i know, thats alotta work)
    Run BFG Radial t/a's on the nascar aero 59 race wheels for the street and do tire changes to goodyear race rubber for the track in seconds.
    Rear gear swaps in 20 minutes.
    What do think of that idea?

    My kids got a ranger that yes doing frame work on. Im in the middle of a strokwr build for my ST. Told him he should take my old setup (built bottom end 2.0 with a gtx2867) and put it in the Ranger. You should build a kit. JS.....

    So, what did you end up doing for the "Reference Boost" port on your fuel pressure regulator? Did you just leave the port on the regulator open to air? Or what? Nice work on the build, very innovative on your solutions.
