To be fair to Tyler, while it is the middle of his career (well we don't know he could be making albums into his 40s and then it wouldn't be middle) he dropped flower boy at the age of 26, same as when Kanye dropped college drop out and younger than Eminem with sslp. Tyler blew up really young and we are starting to see him really mature before our eyes. Imo we are seeing him really hitting his creative stride
AQGOAT24 you know i couldn't take tyler seriously back when he said "ill be dead when im 40" or something along those lines. I was around 11 or 12 when he said that and i was super naive believing that would be true. Then again... who knows? hiphopdx.com/news/id.15759/title.tyler-the-creator-predicts-his-own-death-at-40
Dirty Dick Dan On The Scene what you mean ignore? I liked cherry bomb more than most people (find your wings, Smuckers, the brown stains) but it had mixed reviews. Flower boy to me seems poised to be looked at as a classic years from now.
BASTARD is super interesting imo. It's not often you get the raw emotions (mostly anger) of a 17 year old without filter in a well produced piece of art like it.
Allan Sh he shouldve won a grammy for bastard, goblin and wolf, now everyone loves him and shit, thats dumb, mostly because what hes doing here is trying to get that grammy and he said it in bastard but no one bothers on listening to the real tyler, this flower boy gay tyler is just because he had to change to get famous, why everyone hates cherry bomb? because even tho he had the new vibe he still had the old, real style and no one really liked it but see other people from the gang, take a look at earl, hodgy, left brain, why arent they as famous as tyler? because they havent changed their style a lot, take a look at old songs from him and not just flower boy
Antonio Jaimez I prefer old Tyler but that doesn’t mean new Tyler sucks. It’s just him maturing as an artist and everyone does it. Do you really think it would make sense if Tyler kept rapping about raping women? That was back when he was a teenager he’s 27 now.
Antonio Jaimez his dream was always to get a Grammy dumbfuck. And just because you like old Tyler and you're blinded by nostalgia, doesn't mean Tyler hasn't matured and flower boy was bad.
Antonio Jaimez stop acting like your woke. The real Tyler is always here. It's just he's matured. When you keep your style, it starts to get really bland. And when u change up its called evolving.
I prefer the instrumentals of flower boy, but Cherry bomb is a close second. That being said Cherry bomb is probably Tyler's weakest project alongside Goblin, not bad, but not really good
wolf is by far the best tyler album, he sorta made it sounds like it wasn’t praised by his fans? idk flower boy is kinda a bandwagon album imo this video is good but sounds like it’s coming from someone who discovered flower boy before anything else then dove into his discography expecting softer melodies and rex orange county choruses only to find tracks like trashwang, tron cat, etc
Ever since I first heard Flower Boy, I instantly fell in love. The features fit perfectly, the music is extremely diverse and exciting, and Tyler’s lyrical flow is at his peak. Such an amazing project and will stay at the top of my list for years to come.
Cristian Garcia ive been with Tyler since then and still think this is his most polished piece of work. Don’t let nostalgia get in the way. With Goblin and Bastard, Tyler was immature, angry, and uncomposed. Flower Boy see’s the most honest portion of Tyler.
tyler shouldve included a track in flower boy called gay, lyrics something like “GAY IM GAY IM COMING OUT AS GAY THIS ISNT A JOKE IM GAY HIT ME UP BECAUSE IM GAY IM GAY” so that more people could get his point

Wolf is still my favorite Tyler project but I can acknowledge that this is his best. There are a few lyrical shortcomings (thays to be somewhat expected of Tyler lol) but the production is freaking flawless.
This album even made me cry of how this album is so beautiful, colorful, and for me relatable. Tyler on this album, the production went out of control and his versatility went so far. This is easily Tyler's best album ever.
I wish you covered Cherry Bomb more, it's honestly my favorite Tyler album. It (in my opinion) shows more a change in his character than Flower Boy as it still covers his older, darker topics, while still using lighter themes.
Specifically OKAGA, CA. That entire track is the most underrated song in Tyler's discography. His verse and the final minute of it all gives me goosebumps every time. I also find it the perfect lead into his following body of work, Flower Boy.
Swingo damn right, imo the second half (starting with blow my load) is like a more raw and explosive version of flower boy. The highs were higher and lows were lower on cherry bomb- smuckers is his best song “rapping” and 2seater/okaga are among his best songs in general, but the mess thats run and cherry bomb turns off most listeners bc theyre the first few songs

Looking back to this video now when IGOR is released really shows that Tyler is almost fully matured now. With IGOR making a whole new character, and going through the journey of falling in love and eventually realizing that this might not be for him, really shows that he isn't just an angsty teen, but an extremely creative and mature adult, that isn't scared to show his emotions and feelings anymore, and focuses on making actually good music with good meaning. Now, don't get me wrong, Tyler has had a talent his entire life, but the actual meaning of his music when he started producing it scared off many people.
I think Flower Boy is his best albums as it seems to be the one he was the most into himself. It seemed to me that Flower Boy is what he wanted Cherry Bomb, and that this is the successor to that album and that he'd finally perfected what he was working towards
As a Tyler the Creator fan, (possibly stan) I obviously approve of this video. I also kinda hope Tyler retweets because that’s the kind of thing he does. Pretty smooth and well edited, this one. It really explain Tyler’s story outline in a similar way to Kids See Ghosts’ story. I would’ve liked you to go a bit more in depth to his other 2 projects, Cherry Bomb in particular because it’s an important stepping stone in his career and style and also it has a literal documentary’s worth of information. But yeah uh good video.
MapleMilk that be cool if he does retweet it but I doubt it, because the title is a bit much. Flower Boy was amazing but it’s only been an year and I don’t think Tyler sees it as a classic yet.
I’m only 16, I discovered Tyler when I was around 12-13, and I loved his lyrics about anger, his f*cked up ideas, and what was actually hiding behind it all. If you follow him as I did and grow with him as I felt as if I did, you’ll see that the real him was right there, in each album, in each video, in every feature he was in, in the songs he helped Frank Ocean make. It was rather, he was peeling away what made him so frustrated with this world, or rather, he was growing to become the Magnificent flower he is today, there’s so much I know about Tyler because I’ve grown with him and he’s been my idol for rapping about the shit that he thought of. He helped me express myself and in fact, when cherry bomb came out, it became my favorite album, blasting the beautiful angelic song he sings about growing your wings, and the blasting song he screams, making that song only to perform it, if you listen closely I’m at the 6 minute mark, but you currently did not talk about how ASAP Rocky became a huge part of his growth, if you look closely, Rocky was there right after or before cherry bomb, and from there, he only grew, much like complex covered actually, but complex is also too plain I want to make a RUclips video explaining it all now
I still appreciate his agressive lyrics and at the same time more chill and more naive kinda of lyrics cuz it's just balanced af. Tyler's truly one of a kind
I never really knew tyler, i heard a few songs from the album like boredom and 911, but i didnt know about the album itself. Once i saw the album, i played it and loved it. Its different, but in a good way,and i like that
I listened to his album fully last week , I’m in love with it 😭😭. I love the beats , even though U hear similar beats from other artist, but what he does with the beats is sooo unique and how he smartly uses the features ... it’s amazing mayn.
Genuinely my favourite album of all time, might not be anyone elses favourite but the sound he aimed for in this album is exactly what I like in my music. Great video man.
The whole part about his rants was about a person coming to terms with their own identity and we’ve never seen this kind of development in hip hop. That was such a great line
I’m so happy I found this channel. This is some of the best hip hop content on RUclips, hands down. Your narration and storytelling is fantastic and your shit is clearly well researched. I’m about to go binge the rest of ya vids now. Keep doing you man! 👍🏻
ERRoN KiNG wouldn’t call it a classic, but Cilvia Demo is one of the best put together rap albums I’ve ever heard. The rhyme schemes, production, and theming all fits perfectly to me
Adam s I give it classic status honestly because of what it’s done for me and I’ve been listen to it since it came out my freshman year of highschool so it’s been with me for years now and also it’s a great body of work n still feels as if he just dropped it it’s aging very well.
ERRoN KiNG for sure. It’s aged really well and it’s a classic for me personally. But I don’t think enough people know about it to really call it a classic
Adam s yea I feel you very lowkey n overlooked but I can definitely say cult classic it’s one of those if you know you know type of things but I hope with this next project he finally gets his recognition he kinda got more buzz with the suns tirade but I feel this next one is the one

It was rather, he was peeling away what made him so frustrated with this world, or rather, he was growing to become the Magnificent flower he is today, there’s so much I know about Tyler because I’ve grown with him and he’s been my idol for rapping about the shit that he thought of. He helped me express myself and in fact, when cherry bomb came out, it became my favorite album, blasting the beautiful angelic song he sings about growing your wings, and the blasting song he screams, making that song only to perform it, if you listen closely
I’m at the 6 minute mark, but you currently did not talk about how ASAP Rocky became a huge part of his growth, if you look closely, Rocky was there right after or before cherry bomb, and from there, he only grew, much like complex covered actually, but complex is also too plain
I want to make a RUclips video explaining it all now
Is Flex Tape edible?
Yes
Yes
no bro
Who do I trust now?
I guess i'll *keep* eating it anyway
No. Flex seal however is 100% edible
I still appreciate his agressive lyrics and at the same time more chill and more naive kinda of lyrics cuz it's just balanced af. Tyler's truly one of a kind
Flower boy is one of the best albums of this century
dream bwoy flower boy is to Tyler as Blonde is to Frank. both a couple of the greatest albums of the century.
Of course, certainly nothing has come out in the last 100 years thats as good as this...
century? Huh.
I like rodeo better. That’s a master piece
@@NoName-ff3yw Rodeo can't compare too Flower boy
I never really knew tyler, i heard a few songs from the album like boredom and 911, but i didnt know about the album itself. Once i saw the album, i played it and loved it. Its different, but in a good way,and i like that
Flower Boy is my Fav Tyler Album Ever Already. A Classic
This is one of the best videos i've seen in a long time. Props brodie!
I think thats Earl and not Tyler at 6:27
Ya that's what I was thinking
nah that’s not Tyler it is just some random voice reading off what he said, 100% not earl or Tyler
I listened to his album fully last week , I’m in love with it 😭😭. I love the beats , even though U hear similar beats from other artist, but what he does with the beats is sooo unique and how he smartly uses the features ... it’s amazing mayn.
I really liked Cherry Bomb's raw and rough sound.
A little bit of everything. Ammirite
Alex Moore yah it makes me feel like an angry white punk kid who’s rude to her parents
5 years later flower boy is a masterpiece. It redefined and influenced nearly the entire indie scene
This is the first video I have seen from you. Subscribed immediately
hey guys from 2020+, can we all agree tylers grammy performance was fucking amazing
I respect you so much for using wolf instrumentals awkward is a banger ngl 👌
4:50 when the beat came on I started singing the lyrics in my head
i love that wolf is playing in the background
a very good video sir
I never hear his songs on the radio at all. His songs would be great to listen on the way home.
Flower Boy was so beautiful
YES! Another RUclipsr with amazing editing! Love it! We need more creators like this.
It's a classic because he's the *first ever rapper to be personal on an album*
Hal Burgess lol
Bruh I don't think you listen to real rap then
Genuinely my favourite album of all time, might not be anyone elses favourite but the sound he aimed for in this album is exactly what I like in my music. Great video man.
The whole part about his rants was about a person coming to terms with their own identity and we’ve never seen this kind of development in hip hop. That was such a great line
i fw this video way more than i thought i would, good work put into this
I love the record. It made me love Tyler
This video is truly amazing, can’t wait to see what YOU make in the future
Hit the brakes. Too early for classic tag but it’s by far Tyler best album to date. Continue making quality content fam.
I hope Tyler continues to make musics as great as flower boy in the future
Next video. What makes Speedin Bullet 2 Heaven a classic?
EYTPS A Kid Named Cudi, Man on the Moon, Man on the Moon II?
You all know I'm fucking with ya. Speedin Bullet is obviously not classic
I honest feel like this Tylers weakest album
No more chicken sandwiches yes I’ll pay for the damages
the chosen one lol I see you everywhere
I’m so happy I found this channel. This is some of the best hip hop content on RUclips, hands down. Your narration and storytelling is fantastic and your shit is clearly well researched. I’m about to go binge the rest of ya vids now. Keep doing you man! 👍🏻
Next video: what makes Volksgeist a classic?
I just found this channel, and I already love your commentary and editing skills. Flower boy is one of my favourite albums, and I really enjoyed this.
MAKE “UNDERSTANDING BECAUSE OF THE INTERNET” BY CHILDISH GAMBINO
This video was so well produced and well written than it had me captivated, big well done to you
Cherry Bomb is his best album dont mention me
@
My favourite Tyler album.
Cherry bomb was really good. Song such as 2 seater were insights into flower boy.
This video's editing and aesthetic is gorgeous
Wish someone would do this for Isaiah Rashad.
ERRoN KiNG yeah definitely cult classic. If his next project is good we got a nice trilogy
great video. did not expect such a quality and in depth video. no idea how long you've been youtubing but you're definitely on your way to 1 million subscribers.
I wouldn't call it a classic just yet, seeing it's just been to soon. Definitely his best and most complete body of work.
A year later and I still can’t get enough of this album. It’s just so amazing.
AND THEN IGOR COMIN'? BRUH
This album makes me feel like I'm walking on a field with flowers, at sunset during summer
Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like the anti pop playlist (at least some of it) was influenced heavily by this album 🤷🏻♂️😂
i was thinking about this this morning, thank you for putting it in a video
That definitely sounded like Earl to me, discussing being Black
