    Hi Peter, I can't reply directly to your linked comment so here is my answer:
    Are you asking for me to increase the volume of my tutorials or would you like to know how to make the audio in a video louder? My tutorials are produced around -12dB which should be fine for most computer playback.

      The only way to have a pre-made Track Matte, is to share a Premiere Pro Project with a Sequence with the Track Matte applied.

    Hello. Another great tutorial. I'm used to doing a lot of editing and graphical work in motion, but am now moving over to PP. I want to do a 3 way split screen with different footage and figured track mattes would be the key (no pun intended). However i want to reposition my video inside the matte, but moving the video is also moving the graphic out of shot. Perhaps TMs arnt the best solution. Any ideas?
    Just to make it super clear, i have 3 bits of footage of a guy making cocktails, so each bit of footage is centered on the action, but i want to offset one to left and one to right.

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  3 года назад

      The solution is to use Transform and Crop. Here's a tutorial:
      ruclips.net/video/Nw-RqpOX43s/видео.html
      And if you don't want to make these split screens yourself, you can buy mine: videorevealed.com/shop/

    • @VideoRevealed

      It's hard to know without seeing the footage but typically something like that requires After Effects or Mocha and an understanding of rotoscoping. This kind of fix can be very challenging and the real hard stuff is beyond me.

    I have a quastion about track matte. I want to move video inside the Text, But when I do so - the text is moving with the video. I don't need the text to move

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  4 года назад

      Try this technique: ruclips.net/video/o91fZPv5d90/видео.html
      If you only have an old version of Premiere Pro, then you need to put the moving parts in a Sequence. Drag that Sequence into a new Sequence. Add the track matte to the track above the imported Sequence.

    So how do i make a track matte on a layer, and i want it to be transparent through multiple backgrounds behind it? Im making a video "mask" you could say, a transparent quicktime video.

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  7 лет назад

      Transparency is a per-layer property so you have to add the same matte to each track or combine all the tracks into a Nest and add the matte to that.

    Great Tutorial! However I have a problem - My Title won't show on timeline. Followed procedure of creating a Title - Pen selection and grey background but when placed above video nothing there!

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  8 лет назад

      Do you have the Playhead at the same spot as the title? Do you have the Eyeball icon turned on? Is there anything hiding the title on a track above? Do you have 100% Opacity set for the title? Is the title so dark that it's hard to see?
      These are just a few things to check.
      And one last thing, once you apply the Track Matte Effect, the title will not be visible.

      @kelvinmoore2521 8 лет назад

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  8 лет назад

      It's definitely not a bug as this is a fairly simple procedure and it's been in Premiere Pro for many years.
      It will be worth while to pay attention to what you do when you see it so you can make it work when you want it to.

    • @VideoRevealed

      It might be better to create the bubble with the text as one file in Photoshop then animate that in Premiere Pro. It's hard to say without seeing what you want. I have a tutorial coming up about doing small animations that might help.

  • @Phoenix-gz9xb

    I just finished this trailer for Titanfall 2 and I cannot get my text "The Titans Will Fall" to match the final text they have "Titanfall 2". I tried to get close to at least match the video. I wonder of track matte is involved because it almost looks like movement of stars in their title.

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  7 лет назад

      You're correct, they're using the type as a Track Matte. Create a new sequence and add the type, put the texture above it, duplicate the type and use it as a Track Matte on the texture (layer above the texture).
      Then take this complete Sequence, and put it in your main Sequence and change the position and scale to animate.

    Hi Colin, Maybe you can help. I have a person with a lav mike sticking out his shirt. I want to mask the lav and put the color of his neck into the mask. Do I have to use two video layers to do this?

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  6 лет назад

      That is not something Premiere Pro can do easily because the tracking isn't made for that. You need After Effects and you need to track the mic, export out a frame, clone it out in Photoshop, import the Photoshop file and use the tracking data to position the PSD. Absolutely brutal work to try to get right and that's why I don't have tutorials on it. Sorry.

      +Johnny Daniel That sounds very odd because the number that appears in the Matte dropdown menu is directly related to how many tracks you have. I just tested it with 4 tracks and the I get an option for Video 2, 3 and 4.
      Are you absolutely sure you have more than one video track?

  • @willmen08
    @willmen08 6 лет назад

    This is great! I'm learning a lot about mattes nowadays (albeit late) :D Question, it seems that the new Graphic Essentials window doesn't have all the options that the old Titler did. Do you know how we get all those options back? Like making gradients - where is that? Thanks in advance!

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  6 лет назад

      Thanks for your support Will.
      Adobe does not make release dates public but historically they release new software around the NAB conference (April) and IBC Conference (Sept.). Last year we saw a huge update at IBC so I'm sure we'll see something by then, or sooner if we're lucky.
      I've been very vocal on the Beta forums about what I believe is missing and Adobe is actively listening. The great thing is, we're getting new innovative features like Responsive Design.
      I'm already using Mogrts (Motion Graphics Templates as they're being called) in my show all the time. That little PayPal graphic is one single graphic that I just drop right into the Timeline.

    • @VideoRevealed

  • @charmdgraphics
    @charmdgraphics 8 лет назад

    I am trying to find a tutorial of yours that my explain how to select a certain portion of of one video clip and mask into another. Do you have one? (I'm not sure my question is very clear, so an example would be like the video clip thats edited into you tv screen in your background.)

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  8 лет назад

      Yes you can do that in Premiere Pro or After Effects.
      The most import detail is if the camera is static or moving, if it's moving then it gets a whole large complex with tracking motion in After Effects.
      If it's static, then you can take the scene (for example) with the TV in it and draw a mask around the area of the screen and that will "cut a hole" in it. Make sure that video is on a higher track, like V2.
      Now slide in the replacement screen below it and position it so it's showing through the hole. Make sense?
      If you Google "screen replacement" you will probably find something. If you need to track in After Effects, then search for Mary Poplin Mocha as she is the goddess of rotoscoping.

    Hello Colin, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us and love your instructions. I tried the last clip on premier pro cs5.5 but after nesting the white matte I couldn't duplicate it and tried alt drag nothing. Could this lesson be done with older versions?? Thanks again

      Honestly, CS5.5 is beyond my memory of whether it will work or not. Sorry.

    Is there any way to save the mattes once you've made them? Like what if I pre-built a matte and I just want to drop it on a clip for that certain effect.

    • @VideoRevealed

      +Stephan Blake Harvey - When you create a Matte, it's saved in the Project bin but it contains no animation properties. The only way you can reuse an animated matte, is to open the Timeline where it's animated and copy it, then paste it into a new Timeline.

    Hi Colin. Best tutorials on PPro! 2020 and I'm trying to use the legacy title tool, and it seemed reluctant or non functional. (Could be me!) Is this process available with Essential Titling, or whatever the new version is called please?

    Hi there! thank you for your amazing and inpiring tutorial! I'm doing a video right now with all this kind of transition... I would like to ask you a question: is there a way to save the nested video with all my boxes in a way that I'll be able to reuse them in another project without redrawing them all the time?
    thanks!

      +Farhan Ali - I have a tutorial on GPU acceleration here. ruclips.net/video/5_hjEGyANe0/видео.html&nohtml5=False
      The most important factors in purchasing a GPU is reliability, available memory and number of cores. I prefer NVIDIA and although I've had a lot of Quadro cards, lately I've been running the GeForce GTX TITAN X and it's incredible.

    Just a question on this. What if I a have photo moving vertically and I want to put it inside the ellipse shape. How can I put the photo as if its revealing itself once it enters the ellipse and then it will fade after it passes the circle? Track matte almost got it, its just the ellipse itself also moves

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  5 лет назад

      Sequence 1: Drop the photo in the Timeline and animate it moving up.
      Sequence 2: Drag Sequence 1 in and apply the Track Matte Key to it.

    • @idolsensei7
      @idolsensei7 5 лет назад

      I tried putting the moving image inside the ellipse shape that I created in the title menu. I only put the half of it as Im thinking that since it is moving, it will eventually reveal itself but what happen is that the ellipse is also moving
      and it only showed the half of the image since that's what I've put inside the ellipse only. The image btw has a transparent background.

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  5 лет назад

      Only move the clip or image in Sequence 1 as I stated above. It won't look right but that's what you have to do.
      Then put that Sequence into a new Sequence and that's where you add the ellipse above and the Track Matte Key to the Imported Sequence on V1.

      @@VideoRevealed Hi Sir, I tried it but whenever I put even the whole image inside the ellipse that I created, the image is cut. I already created a big ellipse in the title menu but when I applied the track matte, the ellipse shrunk and the image wont fit at all. I stopped the animation for now just to test.

      Make any shape in Photoshop or Illustrator and import that then use this technique. You don't have to be stuck with drawing shapes in the Title Designer, make them anywhere!
