    Thanks, Morgan, for sharing the ride! Most guys don’t have trails that great to enjoy. I like 13/48 gearing for the steeps with my 2024 TE 300. It lets me use second and third, and either clutch or downshift for first if absolutely necessary. This makes the bike smoother, easier to manage the contact patch, less tiring, and less panic shifting.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  10 месяцев назад

      It is the S3 brake spring. It basically makes it much harder to depress the brake which makes it so you can actually feel the brake before its is locked. So good. Here is a link bit.ly/2fRpJ0w

    Awesome trail, looks like a lot of fun! Yes, stock final gearing on the 2024 300 XC-W is 13/45, which I think is too tall for slower speed, more technical trails. I'm running 13/50 on my 2024, which feels good, or if you want to keep the 45 rear try a 12 front sprocket...

    I’m picking up a 24 300XC-W now. Does a 2023 FMF spark arrestor fit the 2024? Wasn’t sure if mounts are different. A Quick Look around and I’m not seeing too many available SA at the moment. Seems a few weeks out to order for 24? I could be way wrong haha. Thanks!

    Your 300tbi sounds and rides like a different machine than mine. Mine is very snappy, very stiff, and hard to handle in rocks and roots (no surprise there really). My lap times are better on my old 250xc-w, even after riding the new 300 for a year. I heard you mention you redid you're suspension, but how in the world is yours so docile sounding with a high compression head?
