I have been to Thailand 3 times First was in March 2017 Second was in August 2018 Third was in November 2023 I would say that March was the best time in terms of weather, it occasionally rains in evening, best for snorkeling and beaches, north was cooler too. In August till September it was raining too much, nothing to do except indoor activities like clubbing or bars. November was best time for central and north, sunny days, but in south it rains for 3 weeks and overcast weather
Depending very much on where you go and what you do: For example, the hot season is brilliant for the islands in the south, cool season is great for Chiang Mai and rainy season is best for fruits!
Hey Paddy I’m planning a trip to Koh Mak for two weeks in the beginning of October is there anything that you would recommend for me and staying there for two weeks is that a good choice This is my first visit to Thailand and I’m on a retirement search for the best place to settle Thanks mate
As a Thai, whenever someone asks me when the best period to visit Thailand is, i always answer rainy season. Everything is green. The mountains are beautiful. The air is fresh. The sky…..yes it’s cloudy and rainy, but there’s some part of the day that it’s sunny and rain stop. The beach ans sea is not much clouded with people. The weather is not too hot and not cold. Relax feeling. It’s the best period of the year. Thank you for the video.
Did anyone else notice how Paddy coordinated his pale yellow shirt to beautifully compliment the yellow drapes in his hotel room? Looked like a professional photo shoot out of Home and Garden magazine! You never overlook the small details, Paddy. This is why we love you!
I will take the rainy season any day over the hot season. Always enjoy your videos Paddy. Koh Mack looks beautiful. If you like to explore by rivers rainy season is the best when the rivers are full and flowing. Will be there in a few days. Drinks on me!
Shut up Paddy 😂. Do not tell people to come during “ rainy” season. Just left Koh Lanta- had beachfront room at resort with pool all to ourselves. Discounted room, town nice and quiet. Great time to visit- we are regulars May- June. Wife Thai- bring kids to visit family. Playing in the ocean during a downpour- love it.
we visited recently, June 22 to July 9th and had a fantastic time. 17 days and only one single day rained off. For 16 of 17 days the sun shone and we had calm waters for snorkelling and swimming in Phi Phi and Krabi. We had a few heavy showers at night but who cares? You are tucked up in bed listening to the rain and wind howling at the door. The next morning, the sun is beating down hotter than ever. We are going back next June. Bars and eateries are easy to get into too. No crowds, just pleasantly busy
Um... I'm gonna admit that I haven't tuned into this channel properly for about six months. Now I don't know exactly what's happened in that time but the quality of these vids has gone uber exponential. It's not just face to camera, it's not just the edit or the shoot - EVERYTHING has taken a such a massive leap forward. This latest series of islands are an absolute pleasure to watch. Like there's even art direction now with the shirt colours. Like holy crap! Takes a lot to get wowed on YT these days - especially if you live in Thailand and hardly ever watch Thai vloggers - but holy wow, dude. Well done. 🙌🙏
Even with the rain, the island looks inviting! I think attitude matters when you are traveling... you make it good or bad depending on how you choose to react - rain or shine. I think your pros and cons list was great!
Great video Paddy! The reason Samui had such high rainfall in November is because that’s slap bang in the middle of it’s rainy season. The gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea have different rainy seasons. Really important to mention.
I'm Asian-Australian, grew up in SEA and used to live in Sukhumvit. Rainy season is my favourite. Thank you for doing this video, much easier to reference this video than to explain yet again by rainy season is still fine to visit.
Last year I spend 2 moths in Thailand, from mid September to mid November and I couldn't recommend it enough. Sure it rained here and there, but not everyday. Usually 1 or 2 hours on late afternoon. I really enjoyed less people and much lower prices. I was afraid it's gonna be always cloudy and gray, but actually I've had plenty of sun.
I enjoyed Koh Chang in late June this year. I loved the rainy season. Less crowds, the air is fresher, cooler air. This was a great video to see before I left to Thailand. Keep up the great work.
One of the great advantages with rainy season for people like me it brings out all the best wildlife, many of me my friends travel to various countries all over the world to photograph snakes, Spiders, reptiles and amphibians, this may not be everyone's cup of tea but 1000s of us love it, while you can still find these species most times of the year, in the rainy season you see some species that you normally wouldn't in dry season 😊
It’s important to mention that Thailand has multiple monsoon cycles that affect different regions of the country at different times of the year. November is the height of the rainy season in the Gulf, but the Andaman side has great weather during that time.
I too enjoy the rainy season in Thailand. Less tourists, cheaper prices and slightly cooler weather. Koh Samui and the islands around it have a slightly different rainy season than most of Thailand. I currently live there. It's typically November to the beginning of January.
The 11-3 during the Thai hot season is brutal, Managing or avoiding it is critical to enjoying Thailand long term. I grew up in a place that gets up to 34c in the summer but that Thai heat is humbling.
We were in Ko Mak a week ago. amazing place. We stayed 9 days and never had a cloudy day, pure sunny weather and beautiful transparent water & beaches. Sorry I like the dry season. and it wasn't very hot either even If I love the heat but there was very little humidity, it was beautiful, 24 degrees at night and 30 during the day. the best period probably to visit thailand is from mid december to January? most likely . we spent 3 weeks(from Dec 18 to Jan 8) between Bangkok and Ko Mak and had barely 5 minutes of rain in total lol
It’s such a good content to turn negative points into positive points!! I love rain even though living in the UK which the Brits would moan about it!! Raining in Thailand means cooler and happier ❤❤❤
I have been to Phuket multiple times in the rainy season, this year 2024 in September the last 5 days of my trip were almost solid rain and for the first time, i was not sad to leave
I’ve been to Thailand 3 times during rainy season now and I’ve enjoyed it. Hoping to make it a 4th time next month. Last time I was there 2 years ago was in July and in Samui we rented a motorbike only to have a rain storm hit right as we got it. Decided to return it and switched to a car which was a much better experience. Also during rainy season people get sick there a lot. Just be prepared that you might get sick for a day or two.
Hiya Paddy. Rain or shine. A beautiful place to stay. Rain or shine. I would be happy. I love the sound of the rain and love a good storm. Great advice. Always informative. Love the pros and cons. Great video. I Look forward to you bringing Miss P here. Wishing you a wonderful week.
South gulf of Thailand is the exception ... Samui and sonhgkla, their wet season is Oct-Jan when it's driest in Phuket and the north and east. Samui is fairly the same from Feb to Sep.
I really liked living in TH in the rainy season. October always felt the worst month for storms from where we lived in BKK. I would leave work at 6pm and guaranteed storm would strike! I bought a really strong, big umbrella! Ko Samed seems to miss most of the rain and only occasionally rained there during rainy season in the 20 odd times we've been there.
May 16th to June 16th last year I was in Pattaya for 12 nights, then flew to The Philippines for 10 nights, then back to Pattaya for 8 nights and in Thailand it rain almost daily about 5-6am for about 40 mins and occasionally in the afternoon/evening. However it didn't rain once in The Philippines, as their wet season is about 3-4 weeks behind Thailand's.
We'll definitely be doing the the pearl bar on the pier, just need to find the time. Would really love to come to this group of Islands as they are so different to the usual tourist destinations.
OMG. 2 months ago we were praying for some rain. Refresh the golf courses. Clear the dusty and smokey air. Payers are answered and a big shower everyday now. But lots of sun too.
We were just in Thailand in April during hot season and the heat was INTENSE. We'll be back soon while it's rainy season, but Thailand in any season is never something I will complain about haha we love it there
I'm surprised you didn't mention air quality. I heard it's better especially in northern Thailand during rainy season. Next time we go I'd like to try rainy season. Good video paddy I am currently been in Singapore since the start of the year for work. I still have family and property in thailand and to be fair I miss every season in thailand.
I see so many misconceptions expressed by tourists about Phuket and rainy season. Anytime is a good time, but low season is the best
The cool season, as with any tropical climate.
The sounds of the rain falling onto the umbrella is relaxing 😅
Even nicer on a tin roof...
I like that too.I love the rain.
@@michaelhayward7572i love the smell of the road after it rains.
As I’m Thai, I love the rainy season. Everything to fresh, relax. I love to go outside while raining when I’m young.
I have lived in Thailand for 6 years…the longer that I live here, the more I am growing to love it…the greenery is beautiful 😊
As a Thai, whenever someone asks me when the best period to visit Thailand is, i always answer rainy season. Everything is green. The mountains are beautiful. The air is fresh. Rainy season init mate. Bit of rain never hurt anyone.

Rain = Fresh Air = Lively Tree = Cleaner Ground = Cooler = More Nature Sound for Your Peace of Mind... 😍☺️
I love Nov-Dec-Jan!! Had the best time ever
I always enjoyed the business benefits like discounts on my travels during the rainy season in Thailand. Thanks for taking me down memory lane Paddy.
I will take the rainy season any day over the hot season. Always enjoy your videos Paddy. Koh Mack looks beautiful. If you like to explore by rivers rainy season is the best when the rivers are full and flowing. Will be there in a few days. Drinks on me!

Experiencing some of that rain here in HCMC Vietnam as well. Stay warm and cozy!

Love the rainy season, the waterfalls run full and beautiful.
Reminds me of the rainy season in Florida. Not rain all day every day and it cools you down.
Absolutely love the rain in Thailand! More RUclipsrs should show more rainy days!
Alot of people head to Bali when rainy season starts , their may-oct being the best time to visit

Love your rain jacket logo! 😅😅. Saving this one as well…..😁

I love the rain on the ocean. It's when the two most incredible forces of nature meet, the ocean and the weather.
I live in Cambodia, rain for a week now. 24 hours a day. Next month Thailand. Hopefully a bit better when I am doing my shopping in BKK.
I like Paddy his new dreamy voice, kind of an tribute to the old bike..

The annual monsoon is caused by the significant temperature difference between the land and the water, in this case the Indian Ocean. The land heats up much faster and this creates a low pressure area over the land. This draws in the moist air from the Indian Ocean over the land. These wet air masses encounter the hot air and rise. Rising allows for cooling and condensation of the air which results in heavy rainfall. Anyway a bit of a long explanation, thought you might be interested.
