    I went there with friends in university time in late 80s. (Now I'm 56) There were no tourist no resorts there were nothing but two local families. We brought foods and water from Trad and stayed with a local uncle. He taught us fishing for a meal. What a wonderful memory. (Sorry for my english)

    I hope Thailand can do something to preserve some of the islands for calm, low tech tourism. I used to go Ko Samet in the 80s. It was quiet and charming - bamboo huts and kerosene lamps. No hotels, no aircon, bucket showers. Now it’s overbuilt and another bland tourist stop. I wouldn’t go near Phuket or Samui anymore. I’m glad you found this as it is. I may try it next trip. That’s as much development as I want.

      Funny to read about Samet :) I have been three times before Covid came around. I enjoyed it so much. But as a random guy i met told me (like you did) that place was a backpacker's paradise in the 80s. Now I am not a backpacker at all, but i do understand when people disagree what tourism makes out of such beautiful almost remote islands. By the way: i stayed on the quiet western side of the island (Ao Prao). I hope i can return at some point as i fell in love with that paradise :)

Koh Kood is our favorite. We visited last in January 2024 and going there again in November this year. Enjoy your exploring holiday! Thank you for making these videos for us so we can show your work to our friends and parents. We only take pictures. And your work is amazing- done with the highest professionality.

    • @hellarnirk99
      @hellarnirk99 4 месяца назад

      @@lauradetommaso3620 I don't know what are your criterias but for us is the best way when we get our bags at the same level on your way out is a .eeting point. Somewhere near is the Tourist Information and from there to get a private car for about 5000 THB. After that you just step out and your car is waiting for you. If traffic is OK then in about 5 hours you're gonna be at the pier heading 30-45 min.ferry trip to Koh Kood. Or if you're on a budget then from Airport to BKK Ekamai bus station and from there to the pier which leads you to Koh Kood. You can buy bus tickets and ferry tickets (Lomprayah) together and also open jaw tickets if you don't know when to return.

As long as these locations take time & effort to get to, the numbers hopefully will stay low. Koh Ngai, Koh Lanta, and Koh Lipe are still very similar to what they were 15 years ago.

    Hello Paddy, I am a massive fan of yours btw! I love your videos and I am just about to book this exact cabin you stayed in for November! Thank you so much for showing me this incredible place and making it super easy for me to book via your links! I can not wait to travel Thailand! The owners seem like lovely people and such a reasonable price for tranquility! 👌

      It's already over run , 20 years ago I did all these islands and in the style of this video , there was no such things as drones, wifi , uploading your content , unfortunately most of these islands are now over run , everything I'd now too easy for young travellers , it doesn't have the remoteness or other worldly adventure it once had accessibility has changed everything 😢

    You videos are very well done, Paddy. I like the way you speak in a natural, calm manner. (Unfortunately, a lot of RUclipsrs either sound like they are reading, which comes off as unnatural, or they simply speak way too fast. Or both.) Thanks for sharing. 😊

    Its nice but you should experience this island on a beautiful clear warm February day, much better than a cloudy low season day. Crystal clear waters.

    Love this vlog! Reminds me of staying in a similar bungalow Baan Phu Lae at the so called Bamboo beach on Koh Lanta in 2001.
    Arrived just in time to get a drink in my hand as the crew was celebrating the Kings birthday 😉❤️

    I'm a regular on Thailand and visited koh Chang this year, which i loved it. I was thinking ajout koh Hood next time but a friend told me about how much she paid and i surely give it up. Koh Mak i heard about too but not on the other small islands like this one. Trouble is to find transport there, which is not clear on your report. Remind that koh Chang is already far from Bkk and almost over Cambodja coastline

    This little paradise promotes reverence of and for peace. Breathtaking drone work as per usual 👏👏👏 I wanted a bite of your shrimp lol, alas. Phoenix is heating up 108*, soon monsoons start, add humidity of 98% 🥵so every beach you’re on I’m there too, if briefly😁. ❤ safe travels 🦩💨
