- A colourised and remastered clip from the absolutely incredible "Judoka" documentary from Doug Rogers, who was a Canadian Olympic Judo athlete, who trained with the legendary Masahiko Kimura in Japan.
While training in Japan he filmed this documentary which captured some very rare moments and tells a great story.
The full colourised documentary is currently up on my Patreon and I will post it to youtube at a later date.

Somebody needs to make a movie about his life

This is amazing. Seeing an almost mythical figure from the past like Kimura in a full color and clear video is something special.
That osoto gari that Kimura demonstrated to correct his student was absolutely scary.
You’re practically guaranteed *death* if he lands that on you if he was going full force on concrete.
He was well known for KOing people with his Osoto gari to the point that he would be asked by people not to use it in tournaments. When he fought Helio Gracie he planned to knock him out with a throw, but the Gracie’s did their homework and had softer mats to prevent this. Which is why he had to opt for matwork with which he was also exceptional cause he was Kosen trained.
Judoka by Doug Rogers. It's a short documentary about THE Canadian Judoka who studied under Kimura. 100% pure fn kino.
A hidden treasure.
I have high respect for Judo.
OSSS kimura you are my hero

Thoughts on doing the Mifune video? That video would be cool with color, also Dr. Jigoro Kano video
This guy looks like a badass especially in the thumbnail.
Oh, wow. They would bow to the Japanese flag. We bow to a large portrait of Kano Jigoro
Where can we watch the full video
Is there a full colour version?
Can you post the full colourised version please?
The man who invented the Kimura lock .
He did not invent it dude
Before him it existed as”Ude Garami “.
@@Totesnumber1fanPretty much he did invented it. No one knew what is was back than till he finish helio gracie with it and broke his arm 2 or 3 times to get the W. That was when the kimura was getting some publicity but nothing crazy till Kazushi Sakuraba showed up and debuted the infamous Kimura lock that hunted the gracie's in mma. That's when the gracie's realized that the kimura is a big problem. Pretty much masahiko bought the kimura to life in combat sports and sakuraba just popularized around the world which what it is today. Sakuraba just basically invented the mechanics of using the kimura in different positions
@@Totesnumber1fanThat's why it's called Kimura for a reason bud
@@MFvonDOOM no he did not invent the move it was used before kimura it was called uda garame in judo and it's called double wrist lock in catch wrestling it was used before kimura only bjj athletes call it kimura
You can find it in books like frank gotch book before kimura was even born
So Maeda taught the Gracie’s. and they took it and called it their own?.. I’m glad Kimura showed them where true Judo came from.
Same with MMA, without Bruce Lee, it wouldn’t have evolved the way it did, though he didn’t believe in Martial Arts as a sport.
We have to respect the Asians, without them, Martial Arts in the west and around world wouldn’t be what it is now.
wow
600 push ups a day?
600 ??
1000 ???
😳😳😳
Who was the Westerner?
Doug Rogers. Passed away a couple years back. The whole documentary is here on RUclips, it's call " Judoka".
Sounds like the guy from taxi driver
King Henry VIII
He would lose these days
I looked up Kimura so I presume he made up the move or the Gracies named a move after him.
He Rofl stomped Helio Gracie. Threw him in 9 1/2 seconds, choked him out. He let Helio recover and got him with a reverse ude garami (what people call a "Kimura") and broke his arm twice. The Gracies brought a coffin to the ring and spectators were throwing eggs at Kimura. Absolutely destroyed him.
He had like 50 pounds on helio too. Tell the full story bro. Most judo newaza is trash. Its facts.
@michaelswann9849 lol..more Gracie nonsense. Everytime they tell the story, Kimura gets 3 inches taller and 20lbs heavier. You're telling me right now that Helio Gracie weighed less than 100lbs? Absolute bullocks.
@@michaelswann9849 as though Helio challenges Kimura without knowing his weight or height.
@@michaelswann9849Helio stood almost 6ft tall on flat bare feet and weighed 20 more pounds. Kimura was 5ft 7in tall but was a MMA middlewieght at that time. Not only was the Japanese legend shorter and smaller he was going into hostile territory so he had to humble the asshole Brazilians. The Gracies r still arrogant and full of bs up until now they still puff up Kimura vs Helio like it is honoring their memories lol
Yamasita was the greatest
The teacher will cuum😂
