Thank you for mentioning not using an impact wrench on this task. I have heard of things getting damaged doing so. Besides, you don't save that much time doing so.
so number one is like a u-clip that you pull straight down once that is out of the way you can compress the tabs with the number two and slide it rewards to get enough clearance to remove the bolt that holds the braket.
Try your solenoid (a) and solenoid (b) first. Idk if it’s going to work. I just swapped mine out yesterday and plan to see. But sometimes a slip isn’t the entire trans. A dirty filter. Bad connectors. Bad solenoids or even a faulty TPS can cause slippage. My mechanic told me swap these out before ever resorting to something like that.
@@how-2-tony145 hey! thanks for replying. belive it or not about 15 minutes after i commented that i spent about a hour and 30 mins carefully removing the old pan and installing my new one w drain bolt. i just used a micro studdy 10mm wrench on that 2 10mm bolt flange that the pan shares. Do you think ill have any new issues? i wasnt having any issues before driving. except wont move in reverse without giving gas. Shes a 2001 4.3 blazer with 260k original miles. id say fluid had about 100-120k on it. it was quite brown. I guess about 4.5 quarts drain out in total. I did dump back 2 quarts from the pan into the filltube. No metal shavings at all at the bottom which was suprising. I hear horror storys about these transmissions. i was always told if your having shifting issues at high mileage pour 50% of the old fluid back in w 1 shot glass of lucas and the rest fresh atf and fresh filter.
that's new to me... I've never heard of that man. If i add additive to the trans fluid I use the BG ATC automatic transmission conditioner.. to try and bring more life to the fluid that stay in the torque converter.. I never use the old fluid.. yeah them transmission are a joke. but with regular maintenance they seem to work for me.
Refilling the tranny is a major part of a fluid change and you leave out the how too and refill amounts??? Your sound sucks as its way too low. I would delete and start over and do it right.
@brucehartz not every transmission is the same.. you could get away with 5 quarts or you may need 6. What you want to do is fill up to 5... go from P>R>N>D>L several times and make sure it's up to operating temperature. Go for a short drive and see how it feels. Park truck, re check level and slowly add little by little until your satisfied.. too much transmission fluid or too little can cause issues.
As long as it's not damage it should be ok, but if the kit comes with a new one I do change it. If I get another s10 transmission filter job I'll make a video and swap that seal/ring to show how I do it.
FYI, transmission pan bolt torque spec is 9ft lb (108in lb). Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the explanation... been looking all over for the pan bolt torque specs.

👍🏻Right on man.
Do you add any type os silicone on or around pan or gasket? Or just gasket alone?
Does the 2002 Chevy s10 2.2 l 5 speed manual have a transmission filter I’ve been looking and can’t find anywhere to buy it
No transmission filter on them. you just drain and fill them.
I’m a little confused how you got the linkage off at the beginning would you mind explaining in comments?

Or just take the 2 oil pan bolts out holding the bracket on lmao
Good video, don’t why some of these guys can’t hear you? I can hear you fine. 👍
I just bought a 2000 Chevy S10 Extreme and trans is slipping when temp raises. Should I try changing filter and fluid or just rebuild
it sounds like it's had it.

How much fluid does it take???
Sorry for the delay response I've been super busy it took about 5 quarts to get it to the correct level
what kind of pliars/calipers are those? can you provide a link if possible pls. i dont wanna break my linkage
they're call ring nose pliers I got mine a few years back on the mac truck. just checked Amazon they have them listed as ring nose pliers.

turn up the sound/replace filter seal.

Your audio is no good.
