i LOVE laphroaig ohh its, a must have nothing compares, it goes great with a smoked steak in hickory every time i open a bottle of laphroaig i'm reminded of my last cook out. its so good 50 dollars a bottle, is almost to much but i almost want to stow it away for good times. my boys on this camping trip will get this in there glass only cause i love this spirit so much. wish i could have this every day laphroaig 10 is the best ever.
I must admit I am a bit envious that Ben had the opportunity to have a drink with John Campbell. What John did for Laphroaig was legendary, and every Laphroaig whisky that came out during his tenure has been excellent. I have great respect for John, and I wish he hadn't left Laphroaig.
But I wasn't interested in John's tasting notes at the start of each tasting. I wish he would have let Ben taste and just kept quiet until Ben gave us his impressions first. Truth is, I felt that John talked way too much overall.
I absolutely love how the whiskey companies look out for each other and are almost symbiotic in some cases. I wonder how some whiskeys like Laphroig tasted before they started using ex-bourbon casks for finishing!
A private tasting with John Campbell, oh to be at that table!
You said it best, what I'd give to have a dram with John Campbell.
It's such an amazing to be with the best!
We visited the distillery in 2018. Best distillery tour amongst all we visited.
Great to see you got John Campbell involved, you should put his name in the title!

"Yeah peaty flavors", indeed. You are one lucky man. Great content. Thank you.
Why this hasn't got millions of wiews?
This is SUPER interesting video!
Thank you Ben!
Excellent tour, and John Campbell being a lovely guide to the world of whiskey as always!
i like the manager, so chill
These tour videos hit differently when you have the distillery's spirit in your hand. :)
That's the most Scottish tablecloth I've ever seen. Perfect. :p

Amazed how open he is about the process and the casks and so on...
Great review, good insight into how they think about the brand going into the future.
when he speaks about nonage statements like as a compromise i see a bottle of tripple wood on my shelf - a real gem! please do more like that!
love how Benedikt just seems to wanna rush to tasting while John keeps on sharing information lol
pretty natural thing to do when you have 4 glasses of Laphroaig in front of you lol
Excellent video with great content.
Nice video, thanks for posting.
Laphroaig has a great demand around the globe
How you mee the demand and produce ?
Good move to get J. Campbell in there, very informative.
@4:15 -- "We need that damn peat" :)
damp
Just picked up a bottle of the discontinued 18 year old. was expensive but I wanted it in my collection badly!
Thank you. Spending Christmas day watching your videos! Cheers from Canada
Happy I bought the 200th anniversary 32 year. What a bottle
Thank God for John Campbell at the helm. Long live Laphroaig.
Really enjoyed this one
I was there in December,,,,, 😍😍😍😍😍
Laphroaig has 4 spirit stills because the big one on the end is only used to distill the discarded cuts from the other spirit stills
I love LAPHROAIG !
Awesome!
I tried Laphroaig as my first foray into Islay Scotch. Wooooo, it puts hair on your chest! It also makes an excellent smokey coke.
Love it!
Thanks.
Great tour, but it doesn't show the room where the burnt band-aids are added.
Ahah exactly, and when do they add iodine solution to the mix?
Son of Horst, chip off the block. Quality video. V informative.
that a sip every time he warns the whiskey glass with his hands.
great video!
Only ever had the 10 year but for newyear i have got my brother comeing up what would you say i should try next
Try the Lore or Quarter Cask if you can find it. 10 cask strength is really good as well
Cant believe this has only 16k views
Is that how it is pronounce the name of the distillery? La-Fro-iiK? (+/-).
Hmmm, I was actually sipping an Ardbeg An Oa while watching this Laphroaig video ! 😂🤷♂️
highly educational, thanks!

13:50.. Is Ben having a stroke??
I wish you asked him how they can not feel embarrassed selling watered down 40% Laphroaig 10 year old...
Laphroaig is the best whiskey ever
Most flavorful Islay. It's a damn shame they still use e150a
I agree, but I would rather at least 43% instead, I don't mind the coloring in this one.
@@lucaparolin5623the 10 year old cask strength is incredible…
It is not fair. Laphroaig is the best. I have been through many and for my taste the Laproiag 10 is the best whisky on the planet.
I agree with you, I just love the flavor profile, if only was at least 43% I would drink only this...
This video makes me wish I liked peated Schotch. I really tried, but...no:).
So...I’m guessing Laphroaig is not for independence. They’d have to surrender some bragging rights otherwise.
...shovel
Tell Laphroaig that real whisky is 46% ABV or better, non-chill filtered and natural color.
