i always found it strange that out of everyone of that era, it was Norton's style that Ali could never figure out...im no pro i just see what i see, is his style more awkward then technical?
I’m his prime, Norton was one of the best heavyweights ever. He fought at a time when the heavyweight division was the roughest that it’s ever been, and he was one of the very best . A true legend.
Rest in Power Ken Norton!!! You were a very good boxer, and a fine gentleman!!! Your boxing legacy will never be forgotten!!! You inspired me to learn how to box!!! Your #1 all- time Fan: Jeffery Senter Carr
Ali's decision "victory" over Norton in 1976 was one of the most disgraceful robberies in boxing history. Even Ali admitted he didn't deserve the decision after the fight, saying "He (Norton) won the fight."
Harold Lederman, one of the three "judges" who scored the fight for Ali, went to his grave a few years ago still blowing sunshine up his and Ali's ass, claiming that he and his fellow judges saw up close what the audience didn't see. How does one say this? How does one double down on their own incompetence and pro-Ali bias without a hint of shame, when ALI HIMSELF ADMITTED minutes after the fight that Norton won???? The scenery must be nice inside Ali's rear end. Four months before this robbery, Jimmy Young got hosed by a similar decision, beating a flabby Ali to the punch across 15 rounds, only to watch three ethically compromised judges hand the title back to Ali afterward. In their second fight, the ref, Tony Perez, allowed Ali to clutch and hold Joe Frazier like a cowardly octopus, without a single point deduction. Then Perez and the other two judges scored the bout for Ali by 1-2 rounds, even though Ali spent 36 minutes fighting only when he felt like it.
Ken Norton was a great fighter, another legend that isn’t talked about much but the man did make history he became heavyweight champion and he was the only man to hurt Ali broke his jaw. RIP Blacc Hercules.
Unlike most super muscular boxers, Norton had AMAZING stamina and fought in a very relaxed yet steady style. He threw punches in a whip like fashion not tensing up. Take note body builders.

My school counselor was really close to Ken Norton and his family. Her brother would also have sleep overs with them. And when I lost a fight at school. She talked to Ken Nortons son and he said that Ken Norton lost many fight even when he had boxing experience and that Ken Norton took everything as a lesson. Ken Norton believed everything was a listen to be learned and that really stuck with me.
Kenny just happened to fight in an era where Ali and Holmes were top dogs. Further, Kenny was unable to handle those 3 guys with long reach and crushing power: Cooney, Shavers and Foreman. Other than this, Kenny was the best #2 of all time and a solid Marine. I was always rooting for Ken Norton!
Respect. Norton stops hitting when the other guy is visibly out of it. Real class act. His fifteener with Holmes should be in the top 10 fights in history. In their prime, Ali, Frazier, Foreman and Norton were the heavyweight kings of the ring. Legends all the way through. RIP, Black Hercules. Thank you for the great fights.
Ken Norton was a savage in a era of savages . Long reach, powerful, fast reglexes, relentless work ethic, built like a action figure and legendary cross block defense.
In our family our favorites were Frazier, Norton , Quarry and Hagler. Anyone challenging Ali. Because we were taught to respect others and Ali didn't give it. We thought he was a big mouth and well everyone else deserves their time to be champion
IT wasnt his chin, it was his style didnt work against punchers Couse he barely moves to them. Holmes said it. You didnt stand in front of a puncher you have to hit and keep the distance
Ken Norton totally, and completely, destroyed Ali in their third fight. It was a disgrace to boxing, that Ali was given the decision. Ken Norton was the true champion that night.
