    "I always bring out the best in men I fight, but Joe Frazier, I'll tell the world right now, brings out the best in me. I'm gonna tell ya, that's one helluva man, and God bless him"

      @MUFC ok, I’ve seen you on other boxing videos saying this shit and it makes you look like fool with too much time on his hands. Also its just disrespectful to go to a video honoring a great boxer such as Joe Frazier and then preach the number 1 sport for pansies, but you probably don’t understand how much you’re disrespecting Joe because you’re such a bitch that you couldn’t understand the type of man he was.

    The worst part of this is how Philadelphia treated this man. A statue for Rocky, but none for Joe while he was still alive. There is a statue now, but the man is gone...
    In 2006, people were raving about the new Rocky film generating millions. Philadelphia swarmed around Rocky once more. In the same time, Joe was struggling to keep his small gym up and running in one of the poorest neighbourhoods. He failed, and the gym closed down. Philadelphia didn't bat an eye. Only after he is dead, did they say yes to a statue but Balboa is still more recognizable than Frazier in Philly. A city that supposedly loves its athletes and prides itself on brotherly love. But there was no love for old Joe Frazier. Shame on Philadelphia,

      You're right. there is now a statue there for Fraizer although throughout the city you can always find Rocky Balboa memorabilia but only one statue of Fraizer.
      I remember watching old highlights of Friazer's fights when i started boxing. The man was true class and a warrior.
      Although I will defend the Rocky Statue as well because it represents the love of boxing to many and to a lot it marks a piece of what motivated them to get into fitness.
      although there are tons of people who just like it because of the movies.
      but if you walk the streets of philly, you can understand why Fraizer was the man that he was.

      As I could research about two of them, Frazier was an example of gentleman for sure. Despite of humiliation that he got from Ali and media, he kept his humble character whole life. Who else in the world would do it after being humiliated by someone? Who else would help and show sympathy to a guy who offended him?

    Joe Frazier a geatest man, had a big heart... A geatest man and boxer.

    I am sorry but I will always hold Joe Frazier in higher esteem than Muhammad Ali. I understand this view will be unpopular but he represented the blue-collar people with pride, courage and utter dignity. Muhammad Ali was a great man for sure but for me he did not have an ounce of the dignity that Joe had. I have heard the insults Ali used towards Frazier before they fought and he completely crossed the line. It is sad that he treated such a legend of the sport with such disrespect and its sad that they did not become friends like they should have. Joe will always be my favorite fighter.

Ali won the second fight due to his numerous illegal clinches to stop Frazier flurries and in their final grudge match Ali was spent he gave in. Frazier's corner gave up for Frazier but he was still able to go Ali was the one who told his corner to cut off his gloves. Even if they went the 15th round Frazier had him we saw Ali give everything in the fourteenth trying to end it there he had nothing he collapsed right after announcing his win.

    I heard Joe Frazier say on Television, and he was speaking to Muhammad Ali, "If I did anything wrong to you, forgive me". I knew then that Joe Frazier was a righteous man. I said to myself that if I was young enough I would have wanted to win a championship for Joe Frazier before he passed away. I heard Marvis Frazier say that when Ali was suspended from boxing Joe Frazier helped Ali out with money and the use of the Joe Frazier Boxing Gym. With this new information, I now believe Ali should have had more respect for Joe. I loved Ali as a person and a fighter. But, I would like to ask the Frazier family to forgive Ali. I don't want the Frazier family or any Christian family to think bad of all Muslims. Ali said that the taunting of Joe was to help to promote the fight so both fighters can make millions of dollars. Rest in peace Joe. In my heart, I know that you were a righteous man. And, I thank God for your example.

    Every time I think of Joe Frazier I can't help but feel bad for him. He was a great fighter that was always in the shadow of Ali who unjustly bullied him even after Joe fought to get Ali his license back and died in poverty. Lets hope he's treated better in heaven.

      Agreed. I don't think Joe would want anybody feeling bad for him. Did you see his smile early in this clip? That is a happy man. It is tough though, the nature of his relationship with Ali and how his gym didn't make it. Last I checked it was a used mattress store or an electronics shop with the faded but still visible Joe Frazier's Gym signage.

    He was my favourite Heavyweight of that Golden Era of Heavyweight Boxing.
    I wish his trainer had let him out in R15 against Ali, Frazier would have won their third fight if that had happened :/

    • @pullcounter79
      @pullcounter79 10 лет назад +8

      I think even Ali admitted this. I read somewhere where Ali had said he was totally spent going into his corner in the 14th round. He had no energy left to go out in the 15th. Lucky for him Joe's corner didn't let him out for the 15th,

    • @Orcen222

      hbk711x
      Ali collapsed right after standing up after realising that Fraziers corner had quit and that he had won.
      A nearly BLIND Frazier would have taken Ali in R15.

    • @clairemadeinheaven
      @clairemadeinheaven 10 лет назад +5

      hbk711x Frazier was blinded way before the 14th, it was his will alone that kept him pressuring Ali and taking all of Ali's shots. While there was a good chance Ali could've finished Frazier off with a good right, so could've Frazier-- because his will was so intense that he was ready to die in that ring, in the 15th. Ali was already exhausted and wanted Dundee to cut off his gloves, while Frazier, as battered and blind as he was-- was fueled by his drive and "hate" from Ali's treatment outside the ring. Ali's Foreman fight exhaustion isn't comparable to Frazier's because Ali was conserving himself against Foreman until the 8th. Ali vs. Frazier though, Ali was forced to spend all his energy to stay on the outside. Frazier was hungry, willing to sacrifice his life, and I doubt Ali at that time had the same drive Frazier had. Too many pros and cons to both fighters that built up over the fight, leading up to the 15th to say Ali OR Frazier would've won that round. As far as I'm concerned, it was a draw. I'm also glad Frazier's corner stopped the fight because I wouldn't want to see Frazier die in the ring.

      Orcen222 Joe's corner was right. If you ever fought before you would know its the corner man's job to stop the fight because the safety of a fighter goes before his ego.
