One thing I like about your videos is your content is straight to the point. I’ve tried to watch and unsubscribed from other popular diagnostics channels because it’s a 52 minute video of the guy blabbing in a video that would take you 15-20 mins and teach me the same process. Keep it up. I went through watched and liked every video you’ve made. Thanks!

At 500k miles, that's probably the 3rd starter by now.
I'd say it has earned the right for another new one. :)
I think they are lifetime free replacement if he still has the old receipt.

Nothing wrong with using uninsulated butt connectors for repairs. As long as you use a good marine grade heat shrink and make sure the harness doesn't have constant tension, the repair will be solid.

I don't know what number engine is in it. It's a fleet for school vehicles. They all have really high miles. Thanks for watching!

Lol its always something! Glad you worked through it. Yeah I don't blame you one bit. Better to leave the car in the same, if not better, condition than starting! Literally 😆 thanks for sharing!

When cutting into a wire loom 5:00 Go to a sewing store like Michael's and get a "Loops & Thread Seam Ripper" . It allows you to cut away the tape without cutting into wires.

Good diagnosis but seriously the shop could change an engine but not do that basic diagnosis? I've been using those uninsulated spices and heat shrink forever without soldering. Don't you love it when it breaks in your possession...

I don't think he even tries to diag them, he is changing engines and transmission for a fleet. I've been called multiple times for a blown fuse. Thanks for watching!

Nice repair, that's unfortunate. It's happened to me before. Nissan central came in for power steering working then it wouldn't crank, had to diagnose a replace a bad starter. Customer was not happy ...

Nothing is stronger than an uninsulated butt connector and adhesive-lined heat shrink. Solder will eventually fail due to vibration.

Very fortunate the starter died there and not when the customer was stranded somewhere.

Question for you... What are you using to get this schematics? Are they part of your scant tool or is it a program on your tablet? Thanks for what you do

Very true! It's also a Fleet shop so the guy couldn't care less he has a stack of starters on the side.
