This is an excellent option for the vehicle shown in video. Obviously if people just changed their oil on time you would never do this, but this engine was toast and if the owner wasn’t even able to change the oil regularly I doubt they would be willing to pay for an engine rebuild. Excellent job sir, you really did right by your customer!
For 42 yrs always added 1 qt mystery oil with oil change. Never thought of yr method but sure good idea.i use awesome as a degreaser on out side engine. Ty for video
As I instilled in to my daughter, I learned from my grandfather oil is cheap, engines are not. But if you can save one from the bone yard, that's great. I do like using seafoam about 100 miles before an oil change. You would be shocked to see how pitch black that oil gets after and I never go over 4,000 on synthetic oil. Mystery oil is great, I use it in the filters during oil change so instead of just oil, the engine gets a shot of cleaning agents right away. Some might say that's a little expensive, I've done this for years, hundreds of thousands miles. Never had an engine fail. Knock on wood, hopefully never will because that's really expensive!
Always funny to read how many ppl r quick to bash another's way of doing things.. I'm going to start posting videos of myself taking my morning dump just to see how many ppl feel that I'm doing it wrong.
i see your comment 3554 and i thank you I have had a few battles to deal with, but im back and will post more content soon but check out my other channel to see what i went thru and then you will understand why your comment means so much to me
This is an amazing cheap detergent,i use it a lot..It does rust metal though if you leave it in by itself, but if you flush it out and change the oil real quick after doing so in order to remove completely,it will be fine, howver some ppl need to appreciate and respect what others do,i can not believe we live in the U.S and yet, there are so many narrow minded peoplethanks for the video brother
True that! It’s also amazing how easily people get offended by things that have nothing to do with them whatsoever, yet they can find offense in every little thing! Will society in general ever be cool?! I rarely ever use social media anymore because of these types. I like how-to videos though! Unfortunately, there’s always someone who doesn’t approve of something, so screw those people! They can stay in their offended minds if they don’t want to be free!lol Sharing information is what this is meant for!
I think the LA Awesome cleaner is made with water so that's why the rest. They also make the same thing in a powder you mix with water yourself so i assume the liquid type you buy is just a pre mixed with water powder product.
For those skeptics out there what I would do is I would put some of that crud on a screen similar to the oil pump screen spray the chemical on it and show how it actually dissolves the stuff . Some people going to think that the stuff just sits there on top of the screen for the oil pump but just be clean . I think it works because obviously the oil light went off which means you have a clean flow
When you start hearing your lifters ticking shutdown your engine. If what the saying is correct that oil pickup tube is clogged meaning not oiling the main bearing and the piston rings. This could destroy your engine like spun main bearing, piston rod bearing, and others that needing much oil to lubricate.
This black guy is a true genius!!!! At first I thought he was crazy but I brought a 2006 e500 mercedes I tried this and the valve no longer tap the car runs smoothly all I can say is thank you freaking amazing results
The point of this is that It's impressive that he's able to save an engine (from the junkyard) that had that had those huge chunks of crude in it to get back to a working state without taking anything apart.
In my 60’s auto shop class, we learned to use diesel fuel and 1qt of oil in the same way. Always following up with fresh oil and a new filter. Some mid 50’s cars used non detergent oil and filters were an add on.
I did this on my wifes 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5 which i got it from auction and had a lot of sludge inside and after about 3 or 4 flushes and final one with Mystery oil, the engine runs so much smoother. Thank you bro for the amazing tip. My wife drives it to her nursing school everyday putting about 80 miles a day for the last 3 months and car is running great now. THANK YOU !!! I won't try kerosene as i heard it can damage the orings inside. but this awesome stuff did the trick for me.
Sealife that's exactly the method I've been using on my used vehicles for last 15 years. Excellent way to clean engine sludge. Additional method is 4 to 1 ratio engine oil with ATF, drive for 4 to 5 days. Drain and replace with new oil.
That's awesome!... with the condition of that motor on the previous video you probably saved someone a few thousand dollars, who may not have been able to afford it. You're! "Awesome" bro.
Thank you brother you very nice person ,you show us poor peoples don't have money going to ours cars, we can learn to fix by ours self .thank you, God bless you 🙏 to have everything. ❤
I ran mobil 1 10w30 in my Chevy pickup from 130k miles to 245k miles changing oil and filter every 3k miles. When I replaced the oil pan gasket the oil pan and lower engine looked clean like a brand new engine. Sold the truck with 272k miles still not leaking or burning any oil. The lesson learned is good synthetic oil will clean your engine while you drive.
nice video and a great idea too. I'd change that oil after about 50 to 100 miles as it will be full of the cleaning agent which will compromise its lubricity.
+king troll - Right !!! People are STUPID !!! Next time when you go to the Dollar Store, grab a bottle and spray that on your Clothes that have Oil / Grease Stains... It will remove it for sure !!! I have remove Stains + Engine Grease that other products won't get it out. Some of the Stains are like 6+ Months old and to my surprised, it came out Clean ://. LOL
+Jordan Bronson Funny you should mention it - in true Viet Nam war movie - We Were Soldiers, with Mel Gibson - soldiers "cooled" 80 mm Mortars by peeing on Mortars.
Jordan Bronson - I'd like to see how well your engine works after having a pee in the fuel tank. I've seen just how well human pee gums up fuel lines & the carby, it goes to a Vaseline Jelly type paste that is a bitch to flush out. The engine was run after an old guy pee'd in the tank, started running a bit rough and was then parked up for a week, that's when it all gunned up.
Thanks You sir for taking time to sharing your knowledge with those of us who wish to learn. Keep up the good work and be safe. Ignore haters and keep sharing the good knowledge that is inside you. God Bless.
On my 5.0 Bronco, I drained the old oil out and put 4 qts of diesel fuel in. I started it up and just let it idle for 20 minutes before I drained the diesel fuel out. I then replaced the oil filter, put in the required amount of proper oil and drove the vehicle as normal. Sold it to a co-worker who drove it for 3-4 years with no problems.
I mean shoot, with the oil light being on, what was there to lose? This worked extremely well. If I ever experienced an oil light, I might just attempt this! Let's hope being over obsessive with oil changes will help me avoid this. Dude, this was literally very interesting to watch, thank you so much for the video!
That’s cool that you have access to enough vehicles to do experiments like this to see how well things can work! Especially vehicles that have been considered “lost causes”, so trying different things & finding out how well that they work is great when it comes to tight budgets! It’s amazing how much just cleaning things helps! I’m always trying to tell people to just try cleaning their parts, but some just seem too lazy to do anything, let alone check their fluid levels! Then there’s the people who don’t even know how to do that! Anyone who drives should at least know how to do basic maintenance! Maybe that should be a requirement to get a license!lol
when I got a motor that needs a severe flushing I use 4 quarts of diesel fuel and one quart of oil run it for 15 minutes change with some 10w30 it fixes clicking engine like no other
I did this back when I worked on heavy equipment to differential, transfer cases, and final drive unit. Work like a charm. Anything that needs the oil and contaminants flush I would do it. Never a problem afterwards.
That’s a great solution, literally. Gives me hope for getting grit out of the top of the engine. The oil filler part was sitting loose on the valve cover, and over time sucked lots of sand and dust in. Thanks for sharing
I appreciate your making this video and showing us other ways. Unfortunately I’m too scared to run my car like this. I wound up dropping my oil pan and just replacing my oil pickup when I bought my car. But my oil pan also had a small dent in it right around the oil pickup. So I hammered out the dent using my old EGR valve since I did a vacuum reduction. I’m working with a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 since I owned since it was brand new and I was in 11th grade. That car still runs and drives like new with very low mileage. I recently picked up a 1993 Dodge Stealth R/T TT which is the exact same car as my 3000gt vr4 only with minor differences but same drive train. I have big plans as far as HP and much larger turbos. So I also installed ARP main and Rod bearing studs while I had the oil pan off. But anyway, just because I didn’t do it your way this time doesn’t mean that I don’t value your videos. You have been a great help to me with all my cars. I learn a lot about a lot of different things from your videos Be well and keep up the great videos
Ha! Pretty cool. I have a bottle of that stuff to clean my shower! Never knew it would be good for this too. It is totally awesome! Great inexpensive, no-nonsense fix! Best to you. --MW
This seems insane but it looks like it worked fine. I would be interesting in the longer term fix. Is it still running? Compression good? Still at 192K miles it sounded smooth like a car with less mileage. Thanks for the video!
This was the most informational video for the low I have ever seen. I deal with a lot of sitting cars and the tick is crazy. I will try this or another option but all in all, he did what needed to be done and it work wonders on that engine. You can hear it in the END...... DAMN GOOD WORK SIR. #SALUTE
I agree with you concerning the kerosene, I personally do all my family vehicles with kerosene. But this situation calls for desperate measures to save the vehicle at its last breath before its scrap for good! Lol! and it works! I would do the same thing!
I use an old mechanic trick ... diesel fuel. I change my oil on time and once every 4 changes I add 16oz. of diesel to a warm engine prior to dropping the oil. I let it idle :05 and then do the oil change. If it's a friend with a gunked up engine I drop the old oil and then add 3qt.s of cheap oil and 1 qt. diesel. The whole time while idling I'm giving said friend a hard time about not doing oil changes and routine maintenance. So at least :10! Diesel to some degree is a very light oil, light enough to act as a solvent with a little heat. I feel more comfortable using diesel instead of some bottle of detergent because I have no clue what that would do to seals and gaskets over time. There's going to be residuals no matter how you do it and I feel diesel is safer. I also feel safer following the advice of a mechanic that takes care of semi truck engines with millions of miles on them.
This is the best stuff ever I highly recommend doing exactly the same thing. I did this for my ex-wife and ever since then I have been smiling all day long.
I know it goes without saying that you need to change your oil filter while putting the good oil in there I'm sure someone out there will miss that step because you didn't mention it but great video I see it has worked for quite a number of people
Not knocking the video, I’m glad it worked for you HOWEVER as others have said, using a product that literally washes away the lubrication properties of the oil itself from bearings, rings, etc scares the $hit out of me! I know it wouldn’t hurt anything to try this on a motor that was destined for the junk heap however doing this on a hood motor scares me. I have been considering using the BG Dynamic Flush kit ($300 plus my own labor) on my Wife’s VW as they are know sludge makers! $300 is pretty steep however the results I see on tons of YT vids looks promising! A friend of mine that is an “A Tech” uses a blend of Trans fluid and oil at idle only, to clean sludge out monitoring oil pressure the entire time!! He said when he worked at a VW dealership this was their go to for cleaning out sludge! Not recommended by VW obviously but he said this IS what worked!
Twice I'm removed my oil sump, I know again I want to remove, but next time I will try this, hope it's become successful, because more oil crumbs are there in engine once I remove and clean surely it will comes again so best method is to dissolve these oil crumbs and take it out by same this video. Thank u Brother. I'm from india.
This video would be great for GM owners that have the 5.3 or the 4.2 liter engine that are famous for oil pump pickup screen getting clogged . The job of removing an oil pan from the GMC vehicles is between 8 and 10 hours and is a nightmare of front end parts removal and driveshafts. I would much rather spend money buying about 5 quarts of oil a gallon of that cleaner or even two and spend 2 hours flushing draining flushing and draining and see what comes of it rather than all the other work of taking those parts apart just to get to the oil pan amazing video thank you so much
Super late comment. Just wondering, after this procedure if someone was to do normal oil changes after (3-5k), would that also help get the rest of the gunk out of the engine. Thanks for the video and in depth explanation of what you did here. Seems like a good way to clean out a neglected engine without tearing it apart.
THIS PROCESS WORKS GREAT. I HAVE ALSO SEEN AND DONE THIS MYSELF BUT JUST A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT. CAN USE TWO GALLONS OF KEROSENE BUT MAKE SURE YOU ONLY PUT ONE GALLON IN AT A TIME AFTER YOU DRAIN THE OIL FIRST AND LEAVE THE OLD FILTER ON WHILE DOING THIS PROCESS. ALSO BEFORE YOU PUT THE FIRST GAL OF KEROSENE IN MAKE SURE YOU DO PUT ONE QUART OF CHEAP OIL IN. THEN ADD THE FIRST GALLON OF KEROSENE. CRANK THE CAR AND ONLY ONLY LET IT IDOL. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR OR REV IT UP. RUN FOR ABOUT TEN TO FIFTEEN MINUTES AND SHUT IT OFF. LET SIT FOR FIVE MINUTES AND THEN DRAIN. REPEAT THIS PROCESS AT LEAST ONE MORE TIME. IN MOST CASES YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO THIS MORE THAN THREE TIMES AND THE ENGINE SHOULD BE CLEAN TOP TO BOTTOM. WHEN YOU DO THE LAST DRAIN, MAKE SURE TO LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT 30 MINS TO AN HOUR SO THAT ALL OF THE KEROSENE CAN DRAIN OUT. YOU CAN ALSO TAKE THE OLD FILTER OFF AND SOME SHOULD DRAIN OUT THAT WAY TOO. NOW YOU CAN DO YOUR OIL CHANGE. IMPORTANT NOTE. IF YOU CAN, USE THE BEST OIL THAT YOU CAN FOR BEST RESULTS. SYNTHETIC OIL WORKS GREAT WHEN DOING THIS. MAKE SURE TO DO THIS STEP BY STEP AND ALSO REMEMBER THIS IS ADVICE AND IF YOU TRY IT, ITS IS TOTALLY AT YOU OWN RISK. I AM JUST LETTING YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE DONE IT AND IT WORKS VERY WELL. DO NOT FORGET TO DISPOSE OF ALL THE OLD OIL AND KEROSENE MIX PROPERLY. BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR PROJECT AND GOD BLESS YOU. THANKS.
@Awais 250 ml is about a cup in English units. People might want to know, lifter noise additives often are on a kerosene base. Apparently, so are some cheap gasoline additive you can buy at the dollar. A cup of off label additive in the engine oil is about my limit.
Yup! Kerosene works great. Rislone is a great product for a slower/gentler cleanse -- a high detergent additive that works over maybe 100 miles of driving. Chevron Delo 400 is a diesel formulation of motor oil - 15W40, as I recall. It works great too. Cleaning too much gunk too fast is risky. Delo for several oil changes is a great way to dissolve the gunk slowly and safely.
I have heard of using kerosene, but not this. However, after watching this video I have an older model pickup that I've only change the oil in it twice since I started working on it 6 months ago. I have no doubt this will do some good. I will get back and let everyone know.
I'm just worried about doing damage to seals. That cleaner is pretty harsh. But if it works for you and/or you have an engine that's on its last leg, then use this method. Don't think this guy would do this if he knew it was going to damage his engine. Good video either way.
My buddy told me about using the Awesome Degreaser years ago, good to see it for myself that it worked. Great video man!

I pour bubble bath soap into the gas tank about once a month. It really keeps the internal engine parts squeaky clean and the kids love it when I drive leaving a trail of bubbles in the air. They run through the street behind me popping them.
People say he should have done this and that. Well it seems that the more time spent is more money charged. Yes a pan removal and valve cover would have been very good. This POS Nissan is in bad shape and this method of cleaning up the oil passages will probably give it a little more life, on the cheap. So for all you folks who cannot think out of the box here is to you. New stuff is hard for some to accept, I love what he is doing. You Sir have a real thinking brain.
I wouldn't do it that way even in an engine that might be beyond saving. If you wreck the bearings, that's it. Try a product made for the purpose of flushing engines. Synthetic oil is a possibility because it does have superior solvent properties. Then there is SeaFoam and similar products. Even adding transmission fluid and letting it idle is a possibility. A water-based product does not belong in the engine oil. Its possible effect could be the same as that of coolant leaking into the oil. Damaged bearings. My suggestions cost more than a dollar, true. But they are not massively expensive.
@@anonymike8280 For most situations I'd agree. Go with Seafoam or such. But this was a seriously crudded up engine. He did say idle it, DO NOT DRIVE. With Seafoam you drive it 100 miles. That Totally Awesome stuff is a serious degreaser and detergent, without being caustic, great diluted for AC cleaning etc. This wouldn't be my first choice. Proper maintenance with some more conventional cleaning would have prevented the situation, but in this particular case it's a very resourceful technique.
only thing hes going to blow is the engine. if you are in a bad way with engine sludge and grim do these steps to safely remove engine sludge and grime. step 1 drain your oil. step 2 replace oil filter. step 3 put 1 quart of seafoam in. step 3 use half a quart of lucas oil stabilizer. step 4 add remaining amount needed to top off your oil levels with amsoil dominator 10w30 full synthetic. step 5 drive for 200 to 300 miles to help get the system clean. step 6 drain oil after 200 to 300 miles. step 7 replace oil filter again. step 8 refill the system with a 10w30 full synthetic oil such as amsoil or mobile. following all these step will help out a ton and should break up about 50% to 90% of all engine sludge and grime. if you wish to be sure and to give the system a good clean use the eight steps once more. this however is not by any means the best way or the cheapest way to clean out your engine but it will be the safest way if doing a lazy clean without requiring to take the engine apart.
Really good video. No one has attempted to clean the engine with solution before, at least I have not seen one. No to mention the fact that carbon clean method is not recommended. Keeping in mind that most of cars have not been so badly neglected, but hey everything is possible. Thank you.
In a reply to a Guapa Official comment below, Artistry Photography said it is necessary to change the filter between each engine flush (and before putting in final oil fill). Off topic, but the cheapest oil filters in my area are from buying them online at a local Toyota dealership. They are cheaper than Wal-Mart.
In the 70's we used automatic transmission fluid and marvel mystery oil we didn't have the new stuff that came out only we also pulled the pan after flushing to make sure the pick up was 100 percent clear
its still running please like, share, and subscribe, also please check out my other channel Salem Taxi, on RUclips for more material on a different level.
I used Totally Awesome APC on the oil splashes after doing oil changes and this product cleans up amazingly so if using carefully, I believe it will removes many of the sludge and build up.
That was totally...AWESOME!!!! Sorry couldn't help myself. I'm amazed, that engine sounded like it was clapped out. It defies common sense as I thought you would get a hydro lock. How long should you allow it to run? And exactly how many flushes depend on the results or just continue until you get the desired results. Did you let a little oil out at first?
Any motor with that kind of buildup should have the pan dropped and cleaned out as well as the oil pickup cleaned. Oil pan gasket or gasket maker is cheap. I'd be worried about seals and bearings with that dollar store cleaner too. But I did do a mmo cleaning using a whole quart and did short oil change interval a few times and my old 2002 elantra with 175k was smooth and quiet after that
I am getting a used different (same) replacement engine for me Jeep that I have no background of except for mileage and its suppose to be a good 85000 mile engine. I am OCD and want to clean it inside and out. I am going to use this method. Thanks for your video. It might not be what I would normally do but this looks to be a very aggressive cleaner and this is exactly what I will be doing after she is hooked up and running in my Jeep. Thanks for your video.
This stuff works, but Chem Dip will work WAY better, although it is more expensive at about $30 for 3/4 gallon, but it will have the pickup screen and pan looking like the day it was made, with no need to scrub or agitate. Also, never dump chemicals into the oil fill like this. Most chemicals will deteriorate seals and gaskets. The correct way is to use a funnel, and fill through the dipstick tube.
either way its gonna circulate inside the motor so it dont matter which hole u use to fill it just make sure u drain it fully before u put it in service please subscribe, and share and watch the rest of the series thanks
You can't teach a new dog old tricks. He kept the oil pressure low by keeping idle and not letting the car run long. I've worked on cars all my life at my father's garages. He done nothing wrong he just used his choice of engine cleaner with oil. Far as Marvels Mystery oil it works wonder's I use it in old cars that have sit for many long year's never started I pull the plug's and pour 2 ounces down each plug dwell hole to free up the engine and use 1 bottle between the 2 heads to lubricant the valve train and spray it on the entire engine to free up any moving part's including the carburetors. Who would ruin a $5.000 dollar 32 valve Northstar Cadillac engine to using improper oil ? Lots of morons do. It recommendations are 10-30 synthetic in the summer and 5-30 Dexos oil below 60F in the winter. 5-30 is thinner flowing so I use 6 ounces of Marvels oil in the winter and since it's a 1999 Deville being 19 year's old soon to be 20 I take very good measures to keep the engine clean. A dirty engine in any car will result into oil consumption meaning your pistons do not whip the oil and it's left behind to be burned not leaked. Another trick on newer cars with plastic radiator's and old cars with brass and copper is I use liquid draino to flush out clogged radiator's it works it has never damaged any radiator. Lime and Calcium deposit cleaner works wonder's too. This man isn't dumb by no means. It show how dumb our society is today when it comes to our new generation. Great work old timer.
You cant teach just anyone new tricks. How would using Mystery oil free anything up? What is it that could get stuck just from sitting? 😂 Yal'll shadetrees crack me up.
I wish there's a car service pakage like this near everyone. Here in Malaysia I only trust Petronas oil industry limited. Because the process is simple from refinery to gas stations towards consumers general
Marvel works cause it is super fine or small molecules My daughters Saab took 8 tries it was stuck on to everything had to pull the oil pan and valve cover 8 times and scrape and clean each time
I’ve never been a fan of engine flushes myself and I’d be especially afraid to perform one on a high mileage car. I tried it once, and one of my crankshaft bearings went bad. You get a big chunk of carbon floating around and if it plugs up an oil galley, then that engine is done. Or it flushes sludge away from a worn or cracked seal that the sludge was actually helping plug up, and you get a big leak.
I have used diesel for a long time to clean out the inside of engines.. works amazing.. cleans out the lifters and all the ports..dissolves sludge on vehicles that are prone to sludging like the intrepid with the 2.7L. even diesel engines Nobody believes me untill they see it..
To an oil change enthusiast this is caused by not changing the oil often enough. To a depth bypass filter user it's not keeping the oil clean. I stopped draining oil in 1963 with a Frantz oil cleaner. I have 12 Motor Guards and Gulf Coasts in use now. The Australian Jackmaster looks worth checking out. The Frantz was a good filter but not as easy to service as the top loaders. I use Great Value 1000 from Walmart in mine. Some use Scott 1000. Some have their own elements now. When a neglected engine gets that bad it's too late for a depth filter. A good filter will clog in a few minutes.. In the old days we would open the top and wash everything down into the oil pan. Then remove the oil pan and clean it. Then install a good oil filter. The problem is if the customer didnt change the oil he wont change the bypass filter either. These problems were more common before fuel injection and synthetic oils. Some oils had to depend on engine heat and depth filters to finish refining the oil. Multi grade oils were no good. Couldn't be used in a diesel. I used Standard Delo 100 w 30 in my cars. 29 cents in the discount stores. Delo 400 these days. Didnt see Shell Rotella in the discount stores. Some over the road trucks with over a million miles with no oil drains using it with the big Gulf Coast filters.
This is a great flush method but drain your oil and pour in two qts of STP oil treatment and one at of 40w cheap oil and. 2qts of Totally Awesome for about 15 mins and and let the engine cool for a hour and then run the engine again for 15mins then drain, and change the filter. Top off withe a cheap brand oil and drive it for about 100 miles and drain. Depending on the look of the oil after the 100 mile run you may need to change the filter again. Then top off with High Grade oil and and a few ounces of Motor Kote. It's far better than Mystery Oil. Keep in mind to not over fill. The Motor Kote is a Hyper Lube and seals very fine micro cracks throughout the piston walls and help smooth out the engine. Pennzoil Platinum is great because of the detergents in it the keep your engine clean.
Don't knock it til you try it.. I tried this on a 02 Ford f150 after a failed lower intake manifold gasket that mixed the oil and coolant together. After New gasket/awesome flush, 20,000miles later runs great.
It's a house hold degreaser that you find at a dollar store. Most people ignore the "cheaper" stuff but it's really a great product. I've used it to clean my car's interior, and nothing works better. I feel stupid paying ten times more for something else at the local auto store.
I went ahead and tried it on my 09 Pontiac G8 and seems to be running like a champ!!! So all you haters just letting you know it worked for my car!!!
Thank You.
Koool!
My G8 GT lifters are tapping and low oil pressure I will try this maybe soon hopefully it would work how many flushes did you have to do with your G8
Your a dumb! genius
@@crazysexycool180 what do you think about diesel for flushing the engine

Throw Murphy's oil soap in there with MMO and a little bit of silicone spray to combat foaming 😅.

Still running good? Curious

Sealife that's exactly the method I've been using on my used vehicles for last 15 years. Excellent way to clean engine sludge. Additional method is 4 to 1 ratio engine oil with ATF, drive for 4 to 5 days. Drain and replace with new oil.
Makes sense bc transmission oil has way more desegrediant in it
Marvel Mystery Oil is essentially ATF with some additives. So ATF is just a cheaper option
I think you mean Seafoam not Sealife

I ran mobil 1 10w30 in my Chevy pickup from 130k miles to 245k miles changing oil and filter every 3k miles. When I replaced the oil pan gasket the oil pan and lower engine looked clean like a brand new engine. Sold the truck with 272k miles still not leaking or burning any oil.
The lesson learned is good synthetic oil will clean your engine while you drive.

LA Awesome is great to spray on concrete with oil spots. Apply, wait for rain, apply again. Eventually it will lift out all of the oil.
pouring a little bit of gas does the trick. Just hose off after a couple mins.
nice video and a great idea too.
I'd change that oil after about 50 to 100 miles as it will be full of the cleaning agent which will compromise its lubricity.
That LA Totally Awesome is also good for cleaning automotive wheels and tires. I never buy expensive wheel and tire cleaners anymore! 👍🏾
The engine was shot and the guy saved it.There is some really stupid comments.Good video.

Did you also change the filter, l hope
I love your passion in this video about thismethod. Thanks dude .
I, for one, applaud your industriousness and field ingenuity. Looks like it worked in my opinion.
I mean shoot, with the oil light being on, what was there to lose? This worked extremely well. If I ever experienced an oil light, I might just attempt this! Something like this is worth a try If your car is taped up with almost 200K. Nice save 👍
It absolutely should be a requirement
Maybe just as part of the test
when I got a motor that needs a severe flushing I use 4 quarts of diesel fuel and one quart of oil run it for 15 minutes change with some 10w30 it fixes clicking engine like no other
Erin Arnold that’s what my grandfather taught me when I was young.
Cam I do that on a 2010 mdx
I did this back when I worked on heavy equipment to differential, transfer cases, and final drive unit. Work like a charm. Anything that needs the oil and contaminants flush I would do it. Never a problem afterwards.
That’s a great solution, literally.
Gives me hope for getting grit out of the top of the engine.
The oil filler part was sitting loose on the valve cover, and over time sucked lots of sand and dust in.

I learn a lot about a lot of different things from your videos
Be well and keep up the great videos
Did you have the block line honed after installing the studs?
Scott Vickers
Customer needs to change the oil filter and oil every 3 thousand miles. They did not change it ever I’m sure
William E your reply literally makes no sense at all.
When you start the procedure, do you install a new oil filter as well, or just use the old filter and do a new filter at the actual oil change?
This was the most informational video for the low I have ever seen. I deal with a lot of sitting cars and the tick is crazy. I think you have a good idea here. I usually just use kerosene but I'm definitely going to give this a try !

Not recommended by VW obviously but he said this IS what worked!
so this method is less then $50 but you wanna spend $300
I can understand why this might be a good option for some older cars.
Well Done. I've done similar on my old fords. Thanks for sharing.
I would much rather spend money buying about 5 quarts of oil a gallon of that cleaner or even two and spend 2 hours flushing draining flushing and draining and see what comes of it rather than all the other work of taking those parts apart just to get to the oil pan amazing video thank you so much
If you only have a two wheel drive you can drop the pan in 30 minutes with basic hand tool knowledge

THANKS.
I watched this Video, Yesterday.
You've Taught Me Alot... It Works.

I've been using Marvels for years, every oil change. I even put in in my gas tank. You can use it with conventional and synthetic oil.
Small amount of kerosine oil about 250 ml is enough to add in engine oil and running it idle for 10 mins is enough for flushing purpose
Awais Iqbal Can ruin engines. Be careful ! Manufacturers are dead against any oils additives and for a good reasn.
I have heard of using kerosene, but not this. However, after watching this video I have an older model pickup that I've only change the oil in it twice since I started working on it 6 months ago. I have no doubt this will do some good. I will get back and let everyone know.
I guess the results are good for an old V6 with nearly 200,000 miles.
But did you put on a new oil filter? I didn't see one.
They run through the street behind me popping them.
riccardo estavans lol
People say he should have done this and that. Well it seems that the more time spent is more money charged. Yes a pan removal and valve cover would have been very good. This POS Nissan is in bad shape and this method of cleaning up the oil passages will probably give it a little more life, on the cheap. So for all you folks who cannot think out of the box here is to you. New stuff is hard for some to accept, I love what he is doing. You Sir have a real thinking brain.
Thank You Well Said
I wouldn't do it that way even in an engine that might be beyond saving.
I spoke to one dumb-dumb the other day who still can't accept the fact that the world is not flat!

Bought a 65 Chevy G10 van that has been sitting since 07 . Getting ready to fire up motor think I'll do this . Thanks bud.
only thing hes going to blow is the engine. if you are in a bad way with engine sludge and grim do these steps to safely remove engine sludge and grime.
step 1 drain your oil.
step 2 replace oil filter.
step 3 put 1 quart of seafoam in.
step 3 use half a quart of lucas oil stabilizer.
step 4 add remaining amount needed to top off your oil levels with amsoil dominator 10w30 full synthetic.
step 5 drive for 200 to 300 miles to help get the system clean.
step 6 drain oil after 200 to 300 miles.
step 7 replace oil filter again.
step 8 refill the system with a 10w30 full synthetic oil such as amsoil or mobile.
following all these step will help out a ton and should break up about 50% to 90% of all engine sludge and grime. if you wish to be sure and to give the system a good clean use the eight steps once more. this however is not by any means the best way or the cheapest way to clean out your engine but it will be the safest way if doing a lazy clean without requiring to take the engine apart.
Really good video. No one has attempted to clean the engine with solution before, at least I have not seen one. No to mention the fact that carbon clean method is not recommended. Keeping in mind that most of cars have not been so badly neglected, but hey everything is possible. Thank you.

I suggest using a screen to catch the metal parts and show what comes out after every flush.
Curious why you didn't drop the oil pan. It seems like an easy step where you could get even more gunk out.

That was totally...AWESOME!!!! Sorry couldn't help myself. I'm amazed, that engine sounded like it was clapped out. It defies common sense as I thought you would get a hydro lock. Any motor with that kind of buildup should have the pan dropped and cleaned out as well as the oil pickup cleaned. Oil pan gasket or gasket maker is cheap. I'd be worried about seals and bearings with that dollar store cleaner too. But I did do a mmo cleaning using a whole quart and did short oil change interval a few times and my old 2002 elantra with 175k was smooth and quiet after that
nice, however, this video is provided for people that do not want to remove the oil pan. aso on your next oil change flush it again

I am OCD and want to clean it inside and out. I am going to use this method. Thanks for your video. It might not be what I would normally do but this looks to be a very aggressive cleaner and this is exactly what I will be doing after she is hooked up and running in my Jeep. Thanks for your video.
Jim Trenton it's a bad idea. You do this don't expect your engine to last very long. Use seafoam it's only $9 a can designed to do this in cars.
This car's getting all it past oil changes in one day !

I wish there's a car service pakage like this near everyone. Here in Malaysia I only trust Petronas oil industry limited. Because the process is simple from refinery to gas stations towards consumers general
Marvel works cause it is super fine or small molecules
My daughters Saab took 8 tries it was stuck on to everything had to pull the oil pan and valve cover 8 times and scrape and clean each time
I’ve never been a fan of engine flushes myself and I’d be especially afraid to perform one on a high mileage car. I tried it once, and one of my crankshaft bearings went bad. You get a big chunk of carbon floating around and if it plugs up an oil galley, then that engine is done. Or it flushes sludge away from a worn or cracked seal that the sludge was actually helping plug up, and you get a big leak.
I might have to try this method, that's why, I looked up best motor flushes👍👍

I have used diesel for a long time to clean out the inside of engines.. works amazing.. cleans out the lifters and all the ports..dissolves sludge on vehicles that are prone to sludging like the intrepid with the 2.7L. even diesel engines
Nobody believes me untill they see it..
Great video, thanks for your time and effort👍👍

How long do u recommend to run MMO in a fresh oil change? 3k,4k or just use it 300-500miles before OCI?
Do not do this, it will hurt your main bearings and rod bearings...
It didn't do anymore damage then was already done, Dont do this to a new engine without this bad of a problem would be a better phrase lol
Don't knock it til you try it.. I tried this on a 02 Ford f150 after a failed lower intake manifold gasket that mixed the oil and coolant together. After New gasket/awesome flush, 20,000miles later runs great.
This man is real ....literally clean the engine for real like he went up in there and mop it clean him self
I live in Australia what the hell is totally awesome never heard of it id like to try this
It's a house hold degreaser that you find at a dollar store. Most people ignore the "cheaper" stuff but it's really a great product. I've used it to clean my car's interior, and nothing works better. I feel stupid paying ten times more for something else at the local auto store.
