Just out of curiosity, after pouring in the 2 litres of ATF, what was the "oil level" like on the dipstick? I know there wasn't exactly 2 litres of fluid in the engine because of the old oil in the oil filter (around 200 ml if my assumption is correct, meaning 2.2 litres of total fluid in the engine)
I watched another mechanic video where he drained all the oil and filled the entire engine with ATF, and then ran it at idle for about 30 minutes… then drain. The ATF came out black. So why not just fill the whole thing with ATF?
I think you need to be putting a clean filter on before the flush or all you are doing is flushing all the gunk out of the filter, in to your engine, out of the drain plug.. no?
Yea it would have been better to do so, but as mentioned I didn’t have one. Still, I think it does at least show the cleaning properties is ATF though.
Haha seems to work pretty good! I was wondering, do you reckon this helps with any oil consumption? Did it seem to reduce after flushing this or previous times? My shitter does consume a bit of oil. Always thought it was gummed up oil rings from previous owners not doing ANY oil change. Since you have such a pristine example, does your consume oil?
They pretty much allllll consume oil 😂 Mine does a bit yea, cleaning the PCV out which I show in another vid helped a bit but they are known for it. If it was from gummed up rings then this could probably help. It can do harm too by moving stuff about and putting it into worse places but I’ve done a lot of flushes in my time and never had that issue, *puts hand on head*,.. “touch wood”.
